Madonna is set to direct and produce Wallis, a musical following the life of American socialite Wallis Simpson, whom Britain’s King Edward VIII gave up the throne to marry. The singer wants Cate Blanchett to take on the lead role opposite David Tennant, after opting against casting Keira Knightley in the lead.A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: "The final script is now written and the locations have been scouted. Madonna is now trying to assemble the cast and put the finances in place."
