Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have taken Washington D.C. by storm, bringing Hollywood glamour to the political heart of the nation.
The pair, in town for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's awards gala, celebrated Anthony's 41st birthday Wednesday night at the W hotel's P.O.V. lounge.
Before the fete though, Anthony reportedly got a treat from President Obama, who led a group of senators and congressmen in a rendition of "Happy Birthday" for the singer backstage at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus gala, according to Gossip Cop.
President Obama joked at the Hispanic Caucus dinner that the group's chairwoman, Nydia Velazquez, has a crush on Anthony. "I'm telling you, J.Lo, watch out," the President quipped.
As for the birthday party, Lopez hosted the bash, which was attended by Anthony's family, agent Benny Medina, Rep. Linda Sanchez, Miami Dolphins coach Wayne Huizenga, as well as a slew of ambassadors and other dignitaries. The party started around 10:30 p.m. and lasted until 2 a.m.
Anthony was presented with a five-tier chocolate cake from Fancy Cakes by Leslie that was decorated with brown fondant icing, gold art deco accents and "Congratulations and Happy Birthday" written on it.
Earlier in the day, the couple met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi – and even stopped by the Oval Office. "[Jennifer] was here for a tour. She's in town for the CHC dinner. She popped into the Oval Office," a White House source stated.
During lunch, Lopez and Anthony, who also brought their twins to D.C., munched on salads, New York strip steaks, chicken and vanilla lemon buttercream birthday cake from Morton's the Steakhouse.
