Ricky Martin Begins Production for His Next CD

Grammy & Multiple Latin Grammy winning superstar Ricky Martin has begun initial work on his highly anticipated next album of original studio recordings. The album will be helmed by producer Lester Mendez, who has also worked closely with artists such as Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Macy Gray, Santana, and many more.

Continuing his ever-expanding musical evolution, Martin and his production team are in the midst of developing the unique sounds and melodic structure of the album - which will feature both English and Spanish language songs.

The worldwide release of the album is tentatively planned for the Spring of 2010, with a first single arriving early in the new year. Fan expectation has already begun to grow as Martin has already begun sharing the recording experience through his recently launched Twitter page. Martin plans to reveal continued details of the recording process through future postings of more anecdotes, pictures and video

During the remaining months of 2009, Martin will be balancing his time between the recording of the new album and the continued philanthropic efforts of the Ricky Martin Foundation, which advocates for the well being of children around the globe in critical areas such as social justice, education and health

With a highly successful musical journey that began two decades ago, Ricky Martin has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. Martin’s last two full-studio productions– “Almas del silencio” (2003) and “Life” (2005) both achieved worldwide chart success and multi-platinum global sales. They were followed by the likewise chart-topping and multiple Latin Grammy winning “Ricky Martin: MTV Unplugged” (2006) and the critically praised live CD/DVD “Ricky Martin Live: Black and White Tour” (2007).
