During her nearly three-year battle with cancer, Farrah Fawcett has relied on chemotherapy, radiation – and prayer."I want to stay alive. So I say to God, because it is, after all, in His hands, 'It is seriously time for a miracle,' " the Charlie's Angels star, 62, says in a two-hour documentary airing Friday on NBC at 9:00 pm (ET).
Shot with her home video recorder, Farrah's Story offers an intimate and emotional look at the star's ordeal, much of it described in her own words in her first extensive comments on her struggle.
"Of all the things I've ever hoped for in my life, finding a doctor to surgically remove my anal cancer did not even make the top one million on my list," she says in the documentary.
She calls cancer "a disease that is mysterious, headstrong and makes it own rules," and states flatly: "Mine, to date, is incurable."
"I know that everyone will die eventually," she adds, "but I do not want to die of this disease."
