Charlie Sheen: 'It's Not an Act'

Yes, Charlie Sheen is acutely aware that plenty of people think he's crazy. And he doesn't care.

"It's not an act," he tells People magazine in this week's cover story. "Here's the good news: If I realize that I'm insane, then I'm okay with it. I'm not dangerous insane."

During the course of a late-night interview at his Beverly Hills home, Sheen, 45, addressed everything from his ongoing "war" with Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre to his two-girlfriend living arrangement to his self-styled path to sobriety.

Expressing disdain for the Alcoholics Anonymous model of recovery, he says, "I'm not interested in addiction, disease, all that crap. Twenty years they took from me. I just decided that I was going to think differently, that I was not going to believe anything I'd been taught."

As for his unorthodox home life with 24-year-old girlfriends Rachel Oberlin and Natalie Kenly, he says, "everybody's needs are met, everybody's cool."

The actor is more reflective on the subject of his young children: 2-year-old twins Bob and Max with ex-wife Brooke Mueller and daughters Sam, 7, and Lola, 5, with ex-wife Denise Richards.

"There's a feeling ... that I haven't spent enough time with them, and they're getting older," he says. "Not the boys, but the girls. But rather than sitting here and going, 'What have I done?' I just change it."

Kelly Osbourne’s New Material Girl Ads

In her ads as the new face of Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon’s clothing line, Material Girl, Kelly Osbourne is showing off her colorful side — and both Kelly and Lourdes are talking to People magazine about their fashion favorites for the upcoming spring season.

“The military jacket. I love that and I put it with a bunch of badges on it to make it my own, too,” Leon said recently, whereas Osbourne points to the accessories. “The shoes–there’s a pair of nude heels that I’m really obsessed with,” Osbourne gushed. “There’s so much stuff in it that’s so me and what I wear. There’s a leopard dress that I get to wear next that I’m excited about. I love prints,” she said.

When it comes to clothes for warmer weather, it’s shorts for spring that are all the rage for the girls. “I’m like obsessed with them,” said Lourdes. But one of the greatest things about the line, Osbourne observes, is that it’s accessible to everyone. “There’s not many other companies besides Material Girl that do clothes at an affordable price that are high fashion and [are] what people see in the magazines and can emulate themselves without having to go and spend $1000 on a dress,” she said.

And one of the most important aspects of the line for 14 year old Lourdes was making sure that other girls her age could buy great clothes without breaking the bank. “I don’t go out and buy all of these expensive [clothes]…so it’s good for my friends. It’s good for everybody and it’s good clothing, too.”

Elizabeth Taylor's Health is Improving

It's good news for Elizabeth Taylor!

A week after checking into an L.A. hospital for symptoms associated with congestive heart failure, the Hollywood icon is showing marked improvement, People magazine has learned.

"Since being admitted, there has been steady improvement in her condition, and over the weekend she has had visits from family and close friends," says a statement from reps for the legendary actress, 78, who suffers from an ongoing heart condition. "Her medical team is gratified by her progress to date, and it is hoped and expected that this will continue over the next few days. For now, she will remain under their care in the hospital for continued monitoring."

While Taylor is enjoying visits from those close to her, "she is sleeping and resting a lot, which she really needs to recover her strength," the star's rep Sally Morrison told People. "Due to symptoms of congestive heart failure, she is still being monitored and continues to need rest to recover her strength. She did not have a heart attack."

Symptoms of congestive heart failure include difficulty breathing and fluid in the lungs.

Taylor, who underwent heart surgery in October 2009, appreciates support of her loyal fans. As the statement continues: "Friends and fans around the world should be reassured that Elizabeth Taylor is in good hands and receiving the best possible care from her skilled and dedicated doctors and nurses."

Here they are – the miracle babies.

Céline Dion took People magazine all over her Jupiter Island, Florida, mansion for a collection of intimate photos with 6-week-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson in the new People magazine issue, on newsstands toay.

Lounging on the porch, in the pool, in the family bed – the twins, born October 23rd, are getting more than comfy their new home, as Dion and husband René Angélil celebrate their expanded family after six difficult rounds of IVF.

The couple's older son, René-Charles, 9, also seems thrilled with his new siblings, cradling them in a mound of red pillows in one photo.

Inside Elizabeth Edwards's Last Days

Two months ago, Elizabeth Edwards was laboring to climb the stairs of the old colonial house she had recently bought in Chapel Hill, N.C., for herself and her youngest two children. Separated from husband John since January, she looked forward to making a fresh start come springtime in this new home.

But even as she daydreamed on this sunny October day, Edwards, 61, gasped for breath with tears in her eyes and cursed her chemo.

"Damn these drugs," she cried. "Damn cancer."

Elizabeth Edwards would never move into that house. Instead, just days after learning that the breast cancer she had been fighting off-and-on since 2004 had spread to her liver, and that treatment was no longer productive, she died in the home she built with John.

"She's at peace," said a close friend who saw her the day she died, surrounded by friends and family, including her children and estranged husband. "After so much pain the past several years, it was an easy passing, and she deserved that."

Christina Aguilera: Why I Filed for Divorce

Christina Aguilera remembers vividly how she felt as she signed the papers in her divorce from music exec Jordan Bratman.

"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it," the Burlesque star, 29, told People magazine in an exclusive interview. "I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up."

The decision to end her marriage of five years was not easy for Aguilera, but she strongly felt she had to do what she thought best for her and Jordan's 2½-year-old son.

"When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer," says the Grammy-winning pop singer, whose own parents' tumultuous relationship led to divorce when she was 7. "That's the last thing I wanted for my son."

Since filing for divorce, Aguilera has been out in Los Angeles and New York City with a new man, Matthew Rutler, a set assistant on Burlesque.

"He's the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight," she says.

You like Vin Diesel. You really, really "Like" him.

The actor, 43, demolished the competition in People's first-ever Sexiest Man Alive on Facebook poll, earning 56 percent of the vote in a five-way race, with lots of help from his 18 million Facebook fans.

So, now Vin can brag that he's not just an attractive guy – he's the hottest man in social media.

Diesel vanquished four other guys who loom large on the world's biggest social network: most notably, Jersey Shore's Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, whose own grassroots campaigning made him the runner-up, with 28 percent of the vote.

Enrique Iglesias was third with 12 percent. Chad Ochocinco and Old Spice guy Isaiah Mustafa rounded out the pack with 2 percent each.

People's Sexiest Man Alive: Ryan Reynolds

Sure, his chiseled abs have caused millions to swoon, but this year's Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds loves to keep them laughing.

"My body naturally wants to look like Dick Van Dyke," says the 6'2" actor, who suits up as the Green Lantern next year. "When I stop training, I turn into a skin-colored whisper."

We doubt that. From growing up the youngest of four brothers in Canada to being the funny guy in films like The Proposal, Reynolds has learned to take everything in stride. Portia de Rossi:'I Don't Want to Have Any More Secrets'

Looking at a photo of herself back when she weighed 82 pounds, Portia de Rossi can now admit she was sick.

"But at the time, I thought, 'Okay, my arms look awful so I should cover them up, but my legs look pretty okay now," says the actress, 37. "I didn't think I was crazy to only eat 300 calories a day. That made perfect sense to me."

In a new memoir, Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain, de Rossi comes clean about the years she spent battling anorexia and bulimia – after landing her breakthrough role on TV's Ally McBeal in 1998 – and the pressure she felt to hide the fact that she was gay.

"My struggle with anorexia, coming to terms with my sexuality, I realized I had struggled with self-acceptance my whole life," she says. "To be able to get to a point where you're just happy with who you are, I think that's when you know what real peace feels like."

Now healthy and happily living in Los Angeles with Ellen DeGeneres, whom she married in 2008, de Rossi never steps on a scale and eats three balanced meals, plus snacks, every day.

"Look, I don't think I'm perfect. I still don't like my thighs," she says. "But I'm not going to do anything to compromise my health or my sanity to change them. I don't want to have secrets anymore. I don't want to have a darkness that I feel that I should be ashamed of. And going forward now, without having anything to hide, the future looks pretty bright."

Sister Wives Star Hopes He Won't Be Jailed for 'Loving Four Women'

Sister Wives star Kody Brown is used to chaos. After all, he has four wives and 16 kids. But now that Utah authorities are pondering charging him with felony bigamy, Brown is definitely feeling the heat.

"I just hope," Brown told People magazine in its new issue, "they don't put me in jail for loving four women."

Since going public on TLC's Sister Wives about his polygamist lifestyle, the affable 42-year-old ad salesman has found himself at the center of a legal showdown that could land him in prison for up to five years.

Last week, Lehi, Utah, police submitted their findings to the Utah County Attorney, who has yet to decide whether to charge Brown with a crime.

Though it's reportedly been nine years since anyone has been prosecuted for polygamy in Utah, the Brown family has hired a high-powered lawyer to mount a defense of Kody – and his family's way of life.

Brown and his wives insist that they understood the legal dangers of doing going public and discussed it with their kids before signing on for a reality show. Still, they felt it was a risk worth taking in order to show a side to polygamy different from the most headline-making cases.

"We understand the outrage and confusion over our lifestyle," says Robyn, 32, whose recent "spiritual" marriage ceremony to Kody is chronicled on the show's October 17th season finale. "We're still Frankenstein and freaks to a lot of people."

Sandra Bullock: 'We Have Both Moved On'

Sandra Bullock is offering words of welcome as her ex-husband Jesse James prepares to move to her adopted hometown in Texas.

"I support Jesse in his move to Austin," the Oscar winner, 46, tells People magazine exclusively in this week's cover story. "We have both moved on with our lives and only want the best for each other. Anything else that is said on my behalf is inaccurate."

For Bullock, moving on includes finalizing her adoption of 8-month-old son Louis on Aug. 13 surrounded by friends and her sister Gesine in a New Orleans courtroom. "She is so in love with her child," says a source.

As for motorcycle CEO James, 41 – who recently stepped out in Las Vegas with LA Ink star Kat Von D. – he too is starting to move on in the wake of the cheating scandal that led to his June divorce from Bullock, according to a James source.

"I think he's starting to grasp reality a bit more," says the source, "and the realization that it's going to take a lot longer and a lot more than he thought to bring things back to what they were."

Britney Spears Has ‘So Much Fun’ on Set of Glee

Britney Spears‘s wish to appear on Glee is finally coming true — and she couldn’t wait to Tweet the first photo of herself on set of the hit Fox show.

“About to do my first shot of the day for Glee tweeties!” Spears, 28, posted early Wednesday on her Twitter page. “Here we goooo!”

And apparently, the shoot was a success. Accompanying the photo of Spears, the pop star Tweeted, “what’s up GLEEKS? Having so much fun on set!! Can’t wait for you guys to see the episode!”

The show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy recently explained why he decided to dedicate an entire episode to the iconic star. “She is arguably the most important female, other than Lady Gaga, of the last 10 years,” he told People magazine earlier this month. “We’re sort of doing an episode about not only her music, but about her public image.”

But it wasn’t just Murphy who thought a Spears-devoted episode would be a great idea. “All the kids on the show, many of them went into singing and dancing because of her,” he said. “Also at the heart of it, it’s a show designed to show off the skills of Heather Morris who plays Brittany.”

Bristol Palin to Levi Johnston: 'It's Over'

And just like that, they were off again. "It's over. I broke up with him," Bristol Palin told People Magazine exclusively of her second try at an engagement to Levi Johnston, father of her 19-month-old son Tripp.

Palin, 19, says the relationship soured on July 14, the very same day they announced their marriage intentions to the world. Palin says he told her that evening he might have fathered a baby with another teenage girl. (Palin did not name the young woman, but a pregnant former girlfriend of Johnston's has since publicly denied his paternity.)

In an emotional phone interview with People, Palin spoke through tears about feeling heartbroken, humiliated and trapped – while Johnston acted cool. "There's been no remorse," she says, adding that she's seen him only once in the past three weeks.

"The final straw was him flying to Hollywood for what he told me was to see some hunting show but come to find out it was that music video mocking my family," she says. "He's just obsessed with the limelight and I got played."

Reps for Johnston did not return calls seeking comment.

Palin's mom, Sarah, the former Alaska Governor and prominent Republican with whom Johnston publicly – and bitterly – sparred over the past year and a half, told People: "I wish for Bristol to be able to move forward in life with her same forgiving, gracious, optimistic spirit, but from henceforth she'll know to trust but verify. Bristol is strong, she is independent, and she knows what is right for her son."

Most immediately, Bristol has decided that what's right for her and Tripp is to vacate the Anchorage townhouse she only bought last February, saying too many photographers and gawkers were hanging around her driveway.

"I didn't feel safe," she says, adding that she's already cleaned out the three-story home and put it on the market. A friend told People she is temporarily staying at her parents' more secluded home about 45 minutes away in Wasilla.

Bristol also says she's not giving up hope of a safe and happy two-parent home for Tripp. "I have faith that I'll find it. Through this whole experience I know I need a man who's going to be completely honest with me and someone who loves me and Tripp and wants to be with him all the time. I also want someone who has religious beliefs and a good family."

Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston are Getting Married

It's been a tumultuous couple of years for Bristol Palin and her ex-fiancé Levi Johnston – but she says the two are looking to change all that, and possibly in a very big way.

Following Johnston's recent public apology, in which he admits he "said things about the Palins that were not completely true," Bristol, 19, tells People Magazine in its new issue, "I forgive him for what he did. He was young, mad, misguided. We're moving on."

Amid reports that the two are planning to tie the knot – a move they reputedly have yet to run by her parents – Bristol, who did not wear an engagement ring during her conversation with People, replied to the question of if they would marry: "Yeah. I mean, I don't really want to get into detail about what's in store for our future, because who knows? But all I'd like to say about it is, hopefully we will be a family."

As for how they managed to bury the hatchet after their very public falling out, Bristol credits Levi's "just coming around. But, I don't know. It's good. It's good for all three of us [including son] Tripp Easton!"

Looking back, Bristol believes that if fame, money and her mom Sarah Palin's vice presidential campaign had not become part of her and Levi's lives, the ex-couple would already be happy living a simple life.

"I think Levi and I would be married," she says without hesitation. "He would still have his [oil] job on the North Slope, and we'd be in a one-bedroom apartment, scraping by."

Bristol, who says all of her friends have gone out of state, has no plans to follow them. "Levi and I are both Alaska based, and I don't see us moving anywhere else."

Carrie Underwood's Sparkly Southern Wedding

Make no mistake: Carrie Underwood means business when it comes to getting her groove on.

For her July 10th wedding to Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher, 30, the country queen, 27, opted for a Chantilly lace and silk organza Monique Lhuillier gown. But after the ceremony, the bride promptly changed into a strapless Lhuillier cocktail dress.

"The wedding dress was huge," Underwood tells People Magazine in this week's issue. "I wanted to get my boogie on, so I had to change."

Also looking sharp for the wedding, which was held at Georgia's Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation resort: Underwood's beloved pooch Ace, who donned a Swarovski crystal-encrusted pink tuxedo to trot down the aisle.

"Mike was like, 'He's in pink! What are you doing?' " the newlywed singer says of Ace's tux. "But he looked so handsome."

Inside Sandra Bullock and Jesse James's Divorce

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James have finalized their divorce. But that doesn't mean they have parted ways for good.

Friends tell People Magazine in this week's cover story that the exes will continue to be involved in each other's lives as co-parents of James' kids Sunny, 6, Jesse Jr., 12, and Chandler, 15. The divorce's completion also clears the way for Bullock to finalize her adoption of 6-month-old son Louis.

"It's not like they're talking every day, but they're in touch about things," a source told People Magazine. "It really seems like it's about the kids more than anything."

For her part, Bullock, 45, has been "chilling out" in New Orleans and Austin with Louis. And James, 41, has made it clear that he plans to move to Austin as well.

"He has a goal," says a James pal. "He wants his life back, he wants some sense of normalcy and his family back."

Joran van der Sloot Fears for His Life

Joran van der Sloot has reportedly told Peruvian officials he wants to come clean about the location of the body of Alabama honor student Natalee Holloway, who went missing five years ago in Aruba.

The reason? He's afraid for his life inside the Peruvian prison where he's locked-up after being charged in the murder of business student Stephany Flores, 21.

"I don't want to be imprisoned in Peru," he told police, according to a local newspaper. "I am afraid I will be killed."

Van der Sloot, 22, is currently being held in isolation in the high-security Miguel Castro Castro prison in the San Juan de Lurigancho district of Lima while he awaits trial – and officials say he has requested security measures to guarantee his safety there, fearing other prisoners will take justice into their own hands.

"Convicts inside have committed serious crimes," criminal attorney Luis Lamas Puccio, who is not connected to the case, told People Magazine in Peru. "There is too much promiscuity, overcrowding and poor health conditions. I know Joran is isolated . . . This way he'll be safe not only from rape but also from being killed."

Inside 'Castro Castro'

The prison, which was built to hold 2,000 inmates, now houses about 2,300. But Leonardo Caparros, former director of the National Institute that oversees Peru's prison system, tells PEOPLE that van der Sloot is lucky to be assigned to Miguel Castro Castro prison because overcrowding isn't as horrendous there as it is in others in the South American country.

"Of course it's still a very tough jail because the people there – they all are well-known criminals," Caparros says. "You never send to Castro Castro a person who is going into a criminal situation for the first time. There is an exception, and that is murder."

Though van der Sloot is being kept separated from other prisoners, "isolation is relative because infrastructure is not ready and adapted to separate convicts," says Puccio, who also provided an example of how this isolation works: "They have to stay at the auditorium alone, and when that place has to be used, they are taken to a garden or an office. There isn't a proper isolation system like there is in the United States."

What Money Can Buy

If van der Sloot has access to outside money he might be able to buy himself protection from other inmates inside Castro Castro. "It's like a secret that everybody knows," Caparros says.

A U.S. Department of State report on conditions in Peru's prisons, released in March 2010, backs up Caparros's claim.

"Conditions were poor to extremely harsh in facilities for prisoners who lacked funds," the report states. "Overcrowding, poor sanitation, and inadequate nutrition and health care were serious problems. Inmates had intermittent access to running water, bathing facilities were inadequate, kitchen facilities were unhygienic, and prisoners slept in hallways and common areas for lack of cell space."

Whether or not van der Sloot has access to money, Caparros says, "I don't think that so many people will be able to sympathize with somebody who killed little girls. Criminals have codes, you know. . . . I guess many people in jail will not like that."
