Kelly Osbourne’s New Material Girl Ads

In her ads as the new face of Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon’s clothing line, Material Girl, Kelly Osbourne is showing off her colorful side — and both Kelly and Lourdes are talking to People magazine about their fashion favorites for the upcoming spring season.

“The military jacket. I love that and I put it with a bunch of badges on it to make it my own, too,” Leon said recently, whereas Osbourne points to the accessories. “The shoes–there’s a pair of nude heels that I’m really obsessed with,” Osbourne gushed. “There’s so much stuff in it that’s so me and what I wear. There’s a leopard dress that I get to wear next that I’m excited about. I love prints,” she said.

When it comes to clothes for warmer weather, it’s shorts for spring that are all the rage for the girls. “I’m like obsessed with them,” said Lourdes. But one of the greatest things about the line, Osbourne observes, is that it’s accessible to everyone. “There’s not many other companies besides Material Girl that do clothes at an affordable price that are high fashion and [are] what people see in the magazines and can emulate themselves without having to go and spend $1000 on a dress,” she said.

And one of the most important aspects of the line for 14 year old Lourdes was making sure that other girls her age could buy great clothes without breaking the bank. “I don’t go out and buy all of these expensive [clothes]…so it’s good for my friends. It’s good for everybody and it’s good clothing, too.”

Carlos Leon: I'm a Lenient Father to Lourdes

Their own relationship didn't last, but Carlos Leon found the love of his life thanks to Madonna – their daughter Lourdes.

"I'm forever grateful to [Madonna]," Leon told People magazine. "I have no regrets. I wouldn't change anything. I got the best thing out of that relationship, and that's my daughter. My daughter is everything to me."

Like many smitten fathers, Leon, 44, admits he has a tough time being strict with Lourdes, now 14.

"I'm a lenient dad," says the personal trainer and actor, whose new film Immigration Tango came out Friday. "I'm very empathetic, and I'm good at listening to my daughter … I'm probably a bad dad when it comes to disciplining her."

One area where he tends to be overly compromising? Her curfew. "I try to work with her on it," he says. "We settle on a time, say around 10 p.m., and she's like, 'How about 10:30?' And it eventually becomes 10:15."

Leon says Lourdes isn't dating yet, but knows it's coming. "I'm dreading it so much, because she's my little girl. I want her to stay young forever," he says. "I'm already overprotective, so when the time comes, I will be ready to have a talk with the guy she brings through the door. He better be ready, because I'll give him the rundown!"

For now, he and his daughter bond by going on bike rides in New York City and hanging out at home, watching movies like Harry Potter and Twilight.

"She loves to watch Harry Potter. It's a favorite of hers. We can watch that 100 times – well, she can," Leon says. "Twilight is also pretty big at our house. She likes Robert Pattinson. She's Team Edward all the way."

Besides wizards and vampires, Lourdes loves fashion and is a budding fashionista. She even gives Dad a few pointers.

"Sometimes she will give me a hard time about my clothes," Leon says. "I wore a pair of jeans once, and they weren't as skinny as I usually wear them, and she was like, 'Oh my God, Dad, those pants are ugly. Please change your pants.' "

He adds with a laugh: "They were too bootcut, so I changed."

Kelly Osbourne is the New Face of Madonna's Material Girl Fashion Line

Kelly Osbourne's has been named the new face of Madonna's Material Girl fashion line.

Osbourne, who once called herself an "ugly duckling," replaces 'Gossip Girl' star Taylor Momsen, according to a tweet from the company.

Material Girl is a year-old juniors design collaboration between the iconic music superstar and 14-year-old daughter Lourdes. It's sold exclusively at Macy's.

"Material Girl is thrilled to confirm that Kelly Osbourne is the new face for 2011. We will be sharing all the details on this exciting new campaign in the coming weeks," her rep confirmed in a statement.

Material Girl launched in 2010 with rebellious Momsen as its face. Late last year though, Lourdes blogged that the label was "desperately seeking" a new face.

Osbourne, who slimmed down considerably after an image-altering turn on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," has updated her look from goth to glam.

"I've spent the last few years trying to figure out who Kelly Osbourne is, from addiction to awards and fashion faux pas," she writes on her official blog.

Things seem to be looking up for Osbourne, who earlier this month was seen with British musician Rob Damiani, after a long funk from breaking up with Luke Worrall last summer.

Taylor Momsen May Be a Material Girl No More

Despite landing campaigns for Madonna's juniors line Material Girl and John Galliano's most recent fragrance, Parlez-Moi d'Amour, Taylor Momsen is currently without a modeling agency, having been dropped by IMG.

Now it appears that Momsen is no longer affiliated with Material Girl—or won't be for long, anyway. According to Material World, the Material Girl fashion blog, the search is on for the next spokesmodel.

Fans of the Macy's line are invited to suggest the next Material Girl by write-in vote on the brand's website. Who do you think should be brand ambassador? Our money's on Madonna's daughter Lola...she's already writing the best Material World blog posts, anyway.

Vanilla Ice Reveals Why He Broke Up with Madonna

Rapper Vanilla Ice revealed that he dated Madonna in 1991 and admitted it was "exciting" to be in a relationship with an older woman and that she was a "great lover," he said in an interview with 'News of the World'. He was 24 years-old and Madonna was 33 at the time they were dating.

Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, ended it when Madonna published her 1992 coffee-table book 'Sex,' which featured intimate photographs of the couple and images of her with other men.

"I broke up with her after she printed that book because I was hurt to be an unwitting part of this slutty package," the 'Ice Ice Baby' rapper said. "It was disgusting and cheap. We were in a relationship yet it looked like she was screwing all these other people."

He goes on to say, "I thought she was taking pictures and running round naked because she was like that. Then when the book came out I was so embarrassed and ashamed. It was a porno. She threw me in like I was a product off a shelf and I didn't appreciate it. That was it and I ended it. She said she didn't have sex with these men but it looked like she was."

Ice is currently participating in the UK reality competition 'Dancing on Ice'.

Madonna Might Buy a London Nightclub

It looks like Madonna may be taking on a new job title: nightclub owner.

The pop superstar met with Malaysian entrepreneur Tony Fernandes to discuss buying a stake in his company, The Aura Group, which owns several nightspots including Aura Mayfair.

An associate of the singer told The Daily Telegraph newspaper: “Madonna sees it as a natural move. She has ambitious plans."

The Material Girl hitmaker is a regular visitor to the exclusive club -- which is owned by Fernandes, events and motorsport entrepreneur Jonny Dodge and Supper Club proprietor Alberto Barbieri -- and it's believed she'd like to add her own influence to the venue.

If Madonna does become a stakeholder in Aura she will be able to count her ex-husband Guy Ritchie as a business rival as he owns The Punchbowl pub in the exclusive area of the city.

It seems the 52-year star is looking to expand her business empire.

In November, she opened a gym, the Hard Candy Fitness center, in Mexico City.

At the time she said: “It's a sexy name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow. If any of you have seen my shows, you know that I don't skimp on them and the same is true for the gum. We spend what it takes to make a globally first-class gym."

She is expected to launch another 10 gyms across the globe, including in Argentina, Russia and Europe.

Madonna Plays Santa for 'My Malawi Children'

Madonna wasn't able to visit Malawi this Christmas, but she let the children in the six orphanages she funds there know they were very much on her mind this holiday season.

Boxes of toys, chocolate, other sweets and clothes were shipped with a handwritten note from the star, which read, "To my Malawi children on Christmas and Boxing Day. I wish I was with you. See you soon M."

Inside the goodie boxes were miniature Christmas cards signed by Madonna, Lourdes and Rocco.

"How so sweet this woman is!" said Lucy Chipeta, director of Home of Hope Orphanage in Mchinji, where Madonna adopted son David in 2006, as more than 500 children scrambled for toys and bars of chocolate.

Near another orphanage, Consol Homes, more than 1,000 people from surrounding villages were invited to an open-air party. All the orphans and under-privileged children who registered with the center received clothes.

"Madonna says she always enjoys the traditional dances the villagers perform for her when she visits," said Yacinta Chapomba, director of Consol Homes. "She asked us to invite as many villagers as possible for the Christmas party."

The singer planned to return to Malawi in November alongside U2 singer Bono, but the trip, according to sources, was rescheduled for the spring.

Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes Contemplates Blue Hair — and Mom’s Disapproval!

It might be hard to believe, but Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes (a.k.a. Lola) Leon, is actually just like any other teenage girl — hello, Harry Potter and Katy Perry.

Of course, not every teen already has co-created a junior’s collection for Macy’s this fall, but even she isn’t immune to the style dilemmas of adolescence!

“I don’t know if any of you saw my hair yet but its mad dark right at the moment. I’m almost sick of it and now I want royal blue hair but not a streak, like my entire head,” she muses. “I’m sure if I get that hair color I’ll be sick of it after about two weeks.”

And how does mom Madonna feel about her Lola opening up for all the internet to see?

“I read this blog aloud to my mother and she is sitting here staring at me with no expression on her face, as if she doesn’t approve of it!” she writes. “So now you all know what I have had to put up with for the past 14 years of my life :D”

Madonna on Piers Morgan CNN Ban: Who?

Piers Morgan, the British 'America's Got Talent' judge set to replace Larry King on CNN in January, has told Britain's the Daily Express that Madonna is banned from his new program. "She is so boring," Morgan told the newspaper. "She is too vegan for TV. We have Lady Gaga now so Madonna is banned from my show."

Well, it seems the Queen of Pop isn't exactly sweating Morgan's trash talk, as her publicist Liz Rosenberg told PopEater's Rob Shuter, "Madonna doesn't know who Piers Morgan is but she's a big fan of Lady Gaga."

Meow!

The cutting remark came at a party in London, where Morgan was celebrating his new CNN gig. Morgan went on to say that he would prefer to interview President Barack Obama, Mel Gibson and Lindsay Lohan or "whoever is in the news who is relevant and current."

Interestingly, Her Madgesty, whose 2008-09 'Sticky & Sweet' world tour is the top-grossing by a solo artist in music history and who was recently named to Time Magazine's list of the 25 most powerful women of the last century -- one of only two signers on the list (the other is Aretha Franklin) and one of only nine still living -- isn't the only prominent media figure scratching their head over King's replacement.

Back in October, during an interview on 'Larry King Live' to talk about his "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear," 'Daily Show' host Jon Stewart mocked Morgan to a flabbergasted King, saying, "By the way, I think they've [CNN] made a brilliant choice by bringing in a British guy no one's ever heard of. When I'm thinking about floating a sinking ship, what do I want to bring on it: A guy that people are going to tune in and go, 'Who's that, and why is he speaking so funny?'"

OUT Magazine Catches Up Isabella Rossellini About Sexuality, Madonna's Sex Book & More

Just when you thought you’d seen it all, Isabella Rossellini, one of the world’s most beautiful women, turns up on the Sundance Channel swimming in a construction paper sea beside two male dolphin puppets engaging in blowhole sex.

Now, the model, actress, writer, and expert on the sex lives of animals chats with OUT Magazine about unusual mating habits, her thoughts on sexuality as she’s gotten older, and what she really thinks of Madonna’s Sex book.

Here are some highlights:

Thoughts on sexuality as she gets older:
“I look at it differently now because I was born in Italy, a Catholic country, where I grew up thinking you should be a virgin at marriage. And now if somebody says, “I’m a virgin and I’m getting married,” I would be a little worried. Maybe she hasn’t had enough experience, like, oh my God, how can she even say that word? How much you can change. I was born in a country where gays were looked as something that had to be re-educated. Maybe they weren’t the most compassionate, they would look at it as a disease, and most radicals had to be thrown in jail. My cousin was gay and he was hiding it and not talking about it and by the time we were 40, I was going out with him and his gay friends. There was an enormous change in my generation. Finally, a feeling that my cousin — he died, unfortunately — that he was great and it was such a waste of time that he had suffered for so many years to keep this a secret. It’s all for the better to be more open.”

On women being objectified:
“I think if I had to choose a period in history to be born in, I would choose this one. It has been the moment when women have been able to express themselves not only as sexual object — that was a given from the beginning — but also, look at me. I’ve been a model, I became an actress, I’m a writer, I’m making my film, I’m becoming a filmmaker. I don’t know that this was allowed a few years ago, when I would have just stayed a beautiful woman. That was it and then they would say, “She used to be beautiful. Life is tough.” Now, I can evolve. I think that’s what this generation allows.”

On Madonna’s Sex book:
I don’t think the book worked, even though the photos were extraordinary and some of them quite memorable. I think there was a little bit of a moralistic sort of “I’ll teach you how to be free!” and that bothered the hell out of me. Because I think if you want to practice abstinence and that makes you happy, you are OK. If you want to be gay, that’s OK. If you want to screw anything that moves, that’s OK. It’s funny to use the word moralistic for that book because people probably don’t put those together, but it was a little bit of “I know better!” and didn’t like that.

Madonna's New Man Says She's 'Just a Woman'

Madonna started dating French dancer Brahim Zaibat just over a month ago, and the hunk insists that despite her international pop star status, they had a perfectly normal meeting.

He explained: “It all started on September 22 at the launch of Madonna's new ready-to-wear clothing range.

“I performed a solo to ‘Material Girl.’ Then I met Madonna on the sidelines, and she just thanked me for my show.

“It wasn't like meeting a monster! She's just a woman, like all the others. She's an extraordinary artist and world famous, of course, but a woman above all.

“You know she wasn't the first well known female singer I'd met. I was delighted to meet her but not stressed out.”

Some showbiz commentators have questioned the sustainability of a relationship between the 52-year-old pop superstar and Brahim, 24, since he speaks little English and is a devout Muslim, whereas Madonna speaks no French and is a strict follower of Judaism off-shoot Kabbalah.

She is also eight years older than her boyfriend’s mother, but Brahim remains confident they have a future together.

When asked if he listened to the star’s records, he told France's Grazia magazine: “It wasn't the kind of sound I had on my iPod but I knew her tracks. I've since pretty much listened to all she's done.

“She's put lots of breakdance and hip-hop in her last tracks and she's passionate about dance. Her dream as a child was to become a dancer. That's another thing we have in common.”

Before Brahim, Madonna dated another 24-year-old toy boy, Brazilian model Jesus Luz.

After he was linked to the music icon, Jesus went from being a struggling model to earning $20,000 a night as a DJ and landing photo shoots for Dolce and Gabbana.

However, Brahim is not interested in the possible fame which may come his way from his relationship with the ‘Hung Up’ hitmaker, saying: “I just want to get on with my life -- for everything to be normal.”

Jesus Luz's Barely-There Bathing Suit

The Material Girl is missing out.

Jesus Luz, Madonna's ex-boyfriend, shows off his beach bod in a red-hot, briefs-style bathing suit for Page Six Magazine – despite dipping temperatures.

He may be back on the market, but the Brazilian model, 24, says he doesn't plan on keeping his bachelor status forever.

"I want to be married and have children at some point in my life," he says.

But for now, he's prowling the dating scene in Manhattan, where he moved to six years ago to learn English. His means of happiness are simple: "food, friends, music … and good sex."

"There are many beautiful women in New York City," he says. "It's cool because there is such a mixture of ethnicities and cultures."

Madonna's First Mega-Gym Opens in Mexico City

The Material Girl is trying her hand at a new business: her first gym opened its doors Monday, the Associated Press reports. Hard Candy Fitness, located in the heart of Mexico City, is Madonna's first foray into the fitness biz.

Though the gym equipment is pretty similar to other high-class gyms in the city, there's no missing the huge Andy Warhol-esque mural featuring the singer that greets every customer as they walk in.

The name of the club is also a nod to Madonna--Hard Candy was the title of her last album. She states the name is the perfect combination of "hard body" and "eye candy."

"It's a sexy name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow," the singer-actress said in a statement.

As for choosing Mexico City as the location of her first gym, Madonna reveals it was a calculated move. "Our plan is to use Mexico as a place to fine-tune our brand and then expand it to other countries and, in the long term, develop a global brand that includes the United States," she said.

For the red carpet opening of the gym, Madonna handpicked 20 members to join her for a dance class--DJ'd by Paul Oakenfold, the same DJ who opened her last tour.

Gym fees run about $160 a month, after a one-time $830 sign-up fee.

Madonna Talks with Ellen DeGeneres About Gay Bullying

Madonna has spoken out against homophobic bullying, calling it “torture”.

She appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show yesterday by video-link.

The superstar, referring to an apparent spate of suicides among gay teenagers, said: “The concept that we are torturing teenagers because they are gay – it’s unfathomable.

“It’s like lynching black people or Hitler exterminating Jews. Sorry if I’m going on a rampage right now but this is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Madonna said that she could relate to teenagers who feel isolated because of their sexuality or gender identity.

“I still feel different,” she said. “I can totally relate to the idea of feeling isolated and alienated. I was incredibly lonely as a child, as a teenager. I have to say I never felt like I fit in in school.”

She said she was taken to a gay disco by a gay ballet teacher, who “told me it was good and okay to be different…and ironically made me feel I was part of the world and it was okay to be different”.

The star also thanked the gay community for backing her.

The gay community “has been incredibly supportive of me” she said. “I wouldn’t have a career if it weren’t for the gay community.”

Is Madonna Dating a Back-Up Dancer?

Madonna was most recently in a relationship with 24-year-old model Jesus Luz, but apparently she's seeing someone new! The pop star was spotted kissing and laughing with Brahim Zaibat, who is believed to be around 20 years younger than her, in New York last Thursday.

A source at nightspot SL said: "They came in together and were holding hands in a private area. Madonna got up and was dancing for an hour straight before going back to her man. They immediately started making out in front of other guests."

They later moved on to Sullivan Room, where they happily danced together and showed their affection for one another.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "After working the dance floor, they found more private seating where they hugged and kissed for the rest of the night."

Friends of Brahim -- who was initially misidentified as another dancer, Brahim Rachiki -- say the pair have been dating several months but have wanted to keep the romance under wraps.

One pal told website X17online: "They've been seeing each other for a few months but really keeping it on the down low. Madonna did not want this getting out before she had time to see if things were really going to work out between her and Brahim or not. Things have been going well so she was about to go public with the relationship anyway."

It is unknown when Madonna -- who has four children, Lourdes, 13, Rocco, 10, David, five, and Mercy, four -- split from Jesus, but the hunk has recently been spotted flirting with a number of women in his native Brazil.

Report: Madonna Moving Back to the UK

Is Madonna going to make the UK her home again? We hear England is "where her heart is" and she's planning on making a permanent move overseas, after moving back to the US after her 2008 divorce from Guy Ritchie.

A source said: "Madonna has loved being back in the States since the divorce but England is where she feels her heart is now. She is deliberately focusing on work that will keep her in Britain.

She has had meetings with her London legal team, Mischon de Reya, to arrange a visa that will enable her to move back for good. Now that she is no longer a British citizen by virtue of being married to Guy, she is having to apply like everyone else."

Madonna's eldest son Rocco, 10, is able to stay in Britain because he is Guy's son, but her other children – Lourdes, 13 and adopted kids David Banda, five and Mercy James, four – will need their mother to complete her visa application before they can live in the UK.

The source added to the Daily Mail newspaper: "The other children will automatically gain visas as Madonna's dependents as long as she can get past the paperwork. The past couple of years have been the breath of fresh air Madonna needed after her divorce, but she is now ready to embrace the British lifestyle again."

Madonna is not the only star to be planning on a move to England – Lady Gaga is also said to be keen to uproot her life to the UK and purchase a castle in the country.

Madonna Happy to Let Daughter Lourdes Take the Lead in Material Girl Line

It was a night of lace tights, skirts, and mother-daughter bonding for Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon, 13, as they celebrated the launch of their Material Girl clothing line Wednesday night at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City.

Despite being a fashion icon, Madonna was content to take a backseat when it came to choosing the items for the Material Girl girl.

“Lola did most of the work. I just kind of hung out in the background and went, ‘That’s nice,’ but she pretty much did all of the work. I was just overseeing it,” she said.

But when your mom is Madonna and you’re creating a fashion line for teenage girls, it isn’t always that simple. “There are some definite pieces [inspired by my mom]. The tulle skirt because that’s like her thing—she made that. The necklaces, the gloves, the lace tights, the combat boots…that tough girly thing,” Lourdes told People Magazine.

As for the items in Mom’s closet that she covets most? “All of her shoes are ridiculous! I love to try on her [Christian] Louboutins,” she said.

Also on hand for the celebration was Material Girl face Taylor Momsen. “It was such an honor to be chosen by Madonna and Lola. They’re such talented people and I’m just ecstatic,” gushed the Gossip Girl star.

The night concluded with the three ladies gathering on the fourth floor of Macy’s, as dancers performed and a DJ spun many of Madonna’s songs.

“Lola has been so inspiring and it’s been so great to watch her focus, her determination.” Madonna said. “I’ve achieved many things in my life, but I have to say watching my daughter make her dreams come true and achieve her goals is more exciting than anything I’ve ever done

Madonna Slapped with Material Girl Lawsuit

Talk about a fashion don’t!

Madonna is being sued over the rights to use the “Material Girl” name for the trendy juniors clothing line that she designed with daughter Lourdes.

Apparel manufacturer LA Triumph slapped the superstar with a lawsuit Thursday, claiming that it had been marketing clothes under the “Material Girl” brand since 1997.

“Our client and its predecessor have been continually selling similar clothes in similar retail outlets at similar price points under their Material Girl brand since at least 1997 and Madonna and her newfound company do not have the right to trade in the same space under this brand,” said an attorney with firm One LLP, alleging that their client faces “a risk of being subsumed by Madonna’s profile, obvious worldwide notoriety” and massive marketing campaign.

Madonna’s much-buzzed-about Material Girl collection, fronted by Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen, launched at Macy’s earlier this month.

Madonna has not yet commented.

Paparazzi!: Birthday Girl

Just days before she turns 52, Madonna shows off her youthful glow as she arrives for a birthday celebration at East London's trendy, private club Shoreditch House on Friday.
