Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and More Staging Digital Deaths for a Cause

Don't worry, Kim Kardashian is not really dead. But starting Wednesday, she won't be quite as lively on social media.

Kardashian, 30, is joining sister Khloe, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and other stars in signing off Facebook and Twitter beginning Wednesday, which is World AIDS Day, to draw attention to the disease.

The campaign, called Digital Life Sacrifice, includes ads that show Kardashian and others lying in coffins to symbolize their digital deaths. They will sign back on when the Keep a Child Alive charity – which Keys has been closely involved with – raises $1 million.

Other celebrities joining the campaign include Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams and Keys's husband, Swizz Beatz.

Keep a Child Alive will accept donations via text message and bar-code technology embedded in the ads. The charity raises money for families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

"We're trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we're all from?" says Leigh Blake, co-founder of Keep a Child Alive. "It's about love and respect and human dignity."

Matthew Morrison Wants Justin Timberlake to Come to 'Glee'

Glee star Matthew Morrison knows exactly which guest star he'd like to welcome to the set: Justin Timberlake!

When asked who he would like to see make a cameo in the series, he said: “My top choice would be Harrison Ford, but as a close second, Justin Timberlake. I’d like him to play brother actually.”

Morrison is also a huge fan of Justin's music and admits the singer has been a big influence on his upcoming debut album.

The 31-year-old star, who releases Bringing it to the Masses in February 2011, added to Stylist magazine: “I’ve actually been working with some big producers in London. The style’s what I like to call Bublake -- a cross between Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake.”

Britney Spears recently appeared in a tribute episode of Glee, which featured a performance of her debut single "Baby One More Time" by Lea Michele, who plays the character Rachel Berry.

Several other guest stars are due to appear in the second series, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Javier Bardem and Carol Burnett.

“A Single Man” Director Tom Ford Talks About Who He Wants Next, Brad Pitt!

Tom Ford’s outstanding directorial debut A Single Man is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray today. The film earned Colin Firth an Academy Award nomination for best actor and Julianne Moore should have received an Oscar nod but was somehow overlooked.

Ford should not have any trouble attracting A-List talent for his next film, whatever that turns out to be. The designer-turned-director talked to Entertainment Weekly about five stars he hopes to work with in the future:

Brad Pitt: “I’ve always admired Brad as an actor, but I think he’s even better now. I hope people take this the right way but he’s less physically perfect. His face has so much more character. He’s growing into himself.”

Tilda Swinton: “I think she’s amazing. She’s an incredible actress; she’s absolutely fearless. I loved her in I Am Love. She’s good in comedy too. There’s a huge untapped comedic actress there.”

Paul Rudd: “Everybody loves Paul Rudd. There’s something in his face and his eyes that everyone identifies with. I’d love to see him in something quite serious. I think he has enormous depth.”

Naomi Watts: “I love her always. I know her as a person, and I think so highly of her. She has star quality when she’s on screen. I’m riveted whatever [her current movie project] is.”

Justin Timberlake: “You can just feel he’s a great actor even from the few things we’ve seen him in. He has such presence and a kind of mystery. He has this enormous talent and it’s subtle

Haiti Telethon: What You Didn't See on TV

Hollywood came together to support Haiti on Friday night – and reunited a few famous exes in the process.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, who split five years ago, were both on the same soundstage at L.A.'s CBS Studios where he presented and she manned the phones at the Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, but they did not cross paths, according to a source.

Justin Timberlake, who sang a soulful rendition of "Hallelujah" with Tennman artist Matt Morris, bumped into his ex, Cameron Diaz, off camera. "They ran into each other after he performed and she was in the phone bank and then they talked," the source says.

"The celebrities were so low-key. Everyone drove themselves, there were no handlers, no entourages," adds the source. "Everyone was in a good mood. Most people showed up early and many celebrities, including Chevy Chase, Olivia Wilde and David Archuleta, stayed after the telethon was over so they could keep answering phone calls.

The A-list event was co-hosted by George Clooney and Wyclef Jean and presented by MTV Networks and broadcast on nearly a dozen channels.

Making Connections

"Celebs were catching up with each other and sitting down with staff and just chatting, talking about how sad the situation in Haiti was and how happy they were to help. The success of the night put a lot of people in a euphoric mood and a lot of people made plans to get together later," the source adds.

• Before the show started, early arrivals Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts were deep in conversation when Drew Barrymore came over to join them before all three women took their seats at the phone bank.

• Penelope Cruz approached organizer Clooney, who a source says was "very hands-on" during the telecast, and told him, "You're a genius," after he brought so many people together for the event, which raised money by encouraging viewers to call 1-877-99-Haiti to pledge money for the cause.

• Backstage: Newlywed Kevin Jonas ran into Zac Efron's girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens and expressed his hope that "the four of us" would hang out soon.

• In the greenroom, Chris Rock noshed on a cupcake from Crumbs bakery while talking to Ben Stiller. Morgan Freeman and Halle Berry chatted about her daughter Nahla. And Leonardo DiCaprio drank white wine while Archuleta rejoiced when he found papaya on the fruit platter.

• Christian Slater rocked out while watching Madonna's performance of "Like a Prayer" via satellite from New York; Pussycat Doll frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger and Rose McGowan were inseparable most of the night; Rande Gerber dutifully waited for wife Cindy Crawford in the green room while she worked the phones.

"It was a great night," says the source. "It was surreal to see so many celebrities together in one place."

After-Party

For many of the stars, the fun continued at L.A.'s Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel where Clooney, DiCaprio, Witherspoon, Daniel Craig, Kid Rock, Aniston and Gerard Butler stopped by for some dinner and cocktails after the telethon.

"Everyone seemed really happy, almost giddy," an onlooker said. "They were obviously celebrating the huge amount of money that they raised, and cutting loose at the same time."

Celebrities 2010 New Year’s Resolutions

Here are the New Year's resolutions for several stars:

Adam Lambert: “To keep being positive and try to live in the moment and enjoy this.”

Kim Kardashian: “Just to spend a little bit more time with my family and my friends and to really kick it up in the workout department and to try to eat better. I cannot get it together with eating. I eat way too many Oreos.”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz: “All my focus is on my son. Everyday being a better mom and learning with him. It’s an incredible experience.”

Justin Timberlake: “I’m going to under-promise myself for 2010 so if it goes well, I’ll be like, ‘Oh my God! Such a surprise!’”

Bill Murray: “To try to remember to look down on myself and realize how good I’ve got it.”

Miley Cyrus: “I need to stop talking about things I want to do, and just get out there and do it. That’s been my biggest goal recently, especially while I’m on the road.”

Charlie O’Connell: “My new year’s resolution will be to get my golden cross in Call of Duty video game.”

Michael Jackson's Tour Transforms into Tribute Concerts

As part of the pop star routine, Michael Jackson was planning a comeback. In March, the 50-year-old singer had announced that he would perform 50 concerts at the London O2 Arena. The sold-out “This Is It” tour was scheduled to kick off July 13th, and Jackson was in the midst of rehearsals at the time of his death.

At a June 26nd memorial gathering with the tour's cast and crew, concert organizers announced that the show will go on.

AEG, the entertainment company behind Jackson’s tour and owner of the O2 Arena, has begun reaching out to performers to try to work out a possible star-studded series of tribute concerts to the King of Pop later in the fall.

A source confirmed to the Evening Standard that, “There will be tribute concerts eventually. Initial discussions are taking place—nothing formal yet, just sounding some artists out and the response has been very positive.”

Madonna, who was schedule to appear alongside Jackson in London, is one of the artists in consideration along with Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Usher and Diddy.

And to pay tribute to the icon’s Motown legacy, artists like Diana Ross, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder are also being considered. Promoters hope to get the blessing of the Jackson family and producer Quincy Jones to go ahead with the production.

“It is definitely something we would like to happen and we have received lots of requests from the fans,” the source said.

Madonna 'Can't Stop Crying' Over Michael Jackson

The sudden death of Michael Jackson jolted his friends and family, a second blow to the entertainment world after it lost another icon, Farrah Fawcett, just hours earlier.

"I can't stop crying over the sad news," Madonna says. "I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."

Lisa Marie Presley, who was briefly married to Jackson in the mid-1990s, says, "I am so very sad and confused with every emotion possible. I am heartbroken for his children, who I know were everything to him, and for his family. This is such a massive loss on so many levels, words fail me."

"My heart is overcome with sadness for the devastating loss of my true friend Michael," adds Brooke Shields, who raised eyebrows when she briefly dated Jackson. "He was an extraordinary friend, artist and contributor to the world. I join his family and his fans in celebrating his incredible life and mourning his untimely passing."

Elizabeth Taylor, one of Jackson's closest and longstanding friends, was "too devastated" to issue a statement, her rep says, while Quincy Jones, who produced Jackson's biggest hits, says, "I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words."

Cher, calling in to Larry King Live on CNN, shared many memories of Jackson, including dancing together on the Queen Mary and seeing the musical Dreamgirls together. "I am having a million reactions," said Cher. "When I think of him, I think of this young boy, this teenager I first met … He was a great teenager, optimistic and adorable."

She also praised his talent. "He was a great singer. You can't write him off as just a pop [star]. He was a genius like Ray Charles … He had a gift… He was able to connect with people."

Whitney Houston, who has battled her own demons and is on the verge of a comeback, just as Jackson was, released a statement saying simply, "I am full of grief."

Actress Jane Fonda used Twitter to express her grief writing, "I am stunned. My friend, Michael Jackson is dead. He lived with me for a week on the Golden Pond set after 'Thriller.' "

In a statement Thursday afternoon Britney Spears said, "I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I'm devastated he's gone!"

Neil Portnow, president of the Recording Academy, which honored Jackson with 13 Grammys, says, "Rarely has the world received a gift with the magnitude of artistry, talent, and vision as Michael Jackson. He was a true musical icon."

In a long, heartfelt statement Usher said he was "deeply saddened" by the loss and paid tribute to Jackson's legacy. "May God cover you Michael. We all lift your name up in prayer. I pray for the entire Jackson family particularly Michael's mother, children and all his fans that loved him so much. I would not be the artist, performer, and philanthropist I am today without the influence of Michael. I have great admiration and respect for him and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to meet and perform with such a great entertainer, who in so many ways, transcended the culture. He broke barriers, he changed radio formats! With music, he made it possible for people like Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama to impact the mainstream world. His legacy is unparalleled Michael Jackson will never be forgotten."

Another star who was clearly influenced by Jackson, Justin Timberlake, also paid tribute to the pop star. "We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music but of all music," he wrote on his Web site. "He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones."

On his Web site, former child actor Corey Feldman, who was once very close friends with Jackson, posted a statement mourning his old pal. "I come to you today with great sadness, acknowledging the loss of the greatest entertainer in the history of mankind. For me he was more than that, he was my idol, he was a role model, he was someone to cry to when my childhood was unbearable, he was a brother, he was a dear friend," Feldman writes. "Unfortunately Michael and I had a falling out on Septenmber 10th 2001 and that broken friendship had never been repaired … I am filled with tremendous sadness and remorse. All I choose to remember from this point is the good times we shared and what an inspiration he was to me and the rest of the world. Nobody will ever be able to do what Michael Jackson has done in this industry, and he was so close to doing it all again. I am truly, and deeply sorry for all of the heartbroken fans and supporters worldwide."

Leona Lewis to Work With Timbaland, Jay-Z and will.i.am in New Album

Leona Lewis will reportedly enter recording booth alongside powerhouse producer/rapper Timbaland for her upcoming sophomore set. "Timbaland can't wait to work with Leona and make her feisty like Beyonce [Knowles] and Rihanna," a source says as quoted by The Mirror.

Other big names rumored to be lined up to help Leona in the new album are Jay-Z and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. No official statement has been given regarding the news though.

Previously, Justin Timberlake has been confirmed to produce one of Leona Lewis' new singles called "Don't Let Me Down". He visited Chalice Recording Studios when the winner of 2006 "The X Factor" recorded the new track back in March.

Details on what fans can expect from the new album are still unclear. But, a spokesperson for Leona promises that the record will still have the singer's trademark ballad tunes in addition to danceable sounds. "The ballads will still be there but the tracks will be racier and there'll be dancefloor anthems too," the spokesperson says. "It's early stages but we're all very excited."

Justin Timberlake to Launch a New Tequila

Justin Timberlake has something new to toast. The singer and budding businessman is launching a new brand of tequila named "901".

In development for more than two years, the liquor will hit store shelves in early May in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and St. Louis.

The reason behind the numeric name? “901 is that time of night when your evening is ending, but your night is just beginning. It is also a subtle nod to his hometown,” says the singer's spokesperson, referring to the area code for Memphis, where Timberlake grew up.

The new venture is the latest addition to Timberlake’s growing business portfolio, which includes the fashion line William Rast and the music label Tennman.

Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake Reunite at Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" Concert

Britney Spears and her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake reunited at Madonna’s concert Thursday night, November 6th. Although the pair performed separately alongside Madonna, sources say that they met up during rehearsals.

“They said ‘hi’ to each other. Justin was very cool,” says an insider.

A source adds that Spears did “not stress” over the meeting. “This was a good moment for her to just enjoy and have fun,” she source added.

Spears took the stage first and sang ‘Human Nature’ with Madonna. Timberlake appeared next and sang '4 Minutes.’
