Adam Lambert: “I’m Going to Take My Time and Really Write the Most Personal Songs, the Most Powerful Songs.”

I know all you Adam Lambert fans are eagerly awaiting the singer’s follow-up album to For Your Entertainment.

Well rest assured that the Grammy nominee is doing a lot more than just growing his hair long these days.

Adam says he hopes to have a new CD out by the fall with a single hitting the airwaves by late summer.

But he is being thoughtful about what to record.

“…I’m going to take my time and really write the most personal songs, the most powerful songs,” Adam said. “I really want it to be something that’s really honest and real. … I’m starting to talk to some writers and come up with some ideas, and I’ll be writing a lot of it myself. It’s going to be very pop, very rock, maybe even a little dark.”

Adam Lambert to Release EP 'Acoustic Live'

Adam Lambert announced Tuesday that he will release the five-track Acoustic Live! EP this December 6; shoes, shirt, and glove finger-parts optional. (The disc will be digital, with limited-edition physical copies available at www.adamofficial.com.)

Fans who preorder the album will receive an unplugged versions of “Whataya Want From Me” immediately, as well as a lithograph poster of the cover art.

The album itself will feature acoustic versions of songs from his For Your Entertainment, including “Whataya Want From Me” and “Music Again,” (recorded in Germany) and “Aftermath” and “Soaked” (from the Glam Nation tour), as well as the Gary-Jules-via-Tears-for-Fears cover “Mad World,” from his early Idol days.

Adam Lambert Admits Being Different is Always Going to be a Challenge but Says “It Gets Better”

Adam Lambert is busy touring – he’s in Australia this week – but the singing sensation has taken the time to share his candid thoughts about the struggles of being young and gay and how “It gets better.”

But Adam doesn’t sugar coat his thoughts for The Trevor Project’s It Gets Better campaign which has gathered all kinds of steam following a string of tragic suicides of bullied gay teens.

“There’s always gonna be people that are scared of it,” Adam says. “But at the end of the day, if you give those bullies and those people that are so ignorant and fearful of your lifestyle, if you give them the power to affect you, you’re letting them win and they don’t deserve that. What you’re doing by being who you are is you’re keeping it real and you’re being really brave. I believe in you, I think it’s great. There are a ton of us out here in this world that are just like you that believe in you.”

Adam admits that he still feels bullied when he reads about himself: “I’m singled out, and it’s all ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ ‘gay,’ even though there’s so much more to me than just who I choose to sleep with…. You are so much more than your orientation. You know it, and I know it. So don’t let those bullies and those ignorant, fearful, small-minded people prove you wrong. You have to be strong, and you have to pay attention to the positive, and in doing so, you will push through, and you will rise up, and you will live your life to the fullest. It gets better, but it’s up to you.”

Adam Lambert Might Face Battery Allegations

Adam Lambert has reportedly been accused of battering a photographer in Miami Beach Thursday night. According to police documents posted by TMZ, the American Idol alum allegedly “wrestled [the photographer] to the ground forcefully” after becoming angered by unwanted picture-taking.

A rep for Lambert pointed toward the singer’s Twitter account, where he recently wrote, “Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I’m guilty of.” The Miami Beach Police Department has not responded to requests for further information.

Adam Lambert wins at MuchMusic Video Awards

The stylish Adam Lambert made a quick trip to Toronto Sunday night wearing some really cool boots.

He won the award for favorite international video for Whataya Want From Me at the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards or the MMVAs for short.

The American Idol runner-up showed his sense of humor in his acceptance speech when he said: “I usually don’t win things, I’m usually the runner-up — so thank you, I won something.”

Adam Lambert Debuts Half-Shaved Head on Twitter!

Adam Lambert got fans buzzing Thursday when he shaved what looked like his entire head and then took to his Twitter account to post an image of his newly shorn locks and Boy George-like get up.

“Glam Nation Glam,” he Tweeted, while posting a photo showcasing his bedazzled ‘Glam Nation’ summer tour costume accessorized with his new do.

But did this mean that the American Idol runner-up cropped his entire towering raven-colored coiff? “Calm down… Just shaved one side…” he Tweeted back to worried fans.

Along with shaving only his right-sided tresses, the 28-year-old used some glitter to add some panache with two scratches for added flair.

With his first U.S. solo tour in full swing, we can’t wait to see what other looks Lambert has in store for us!

Adam Lambert Clears Up Rumors: “I Was Never Asked to Appear on the [American Idol] Finale in any Capacity”

There was no Adam Lambert on Wednesday night’s bloated American Idol finale.

Guess it was more important to have The Bee Gees, Alice Cooper, Joe Crocker etc (and to let Janet Jackson sing TWO numbers) than to give the stage to one of the biggest stars the show has ever produced and one of the strongest mentors all season.

Adam knows there are all kinds of stories out there so he took to Twitter to clear them up. Here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth:

1. HAHA. I have now just been made aware of more gossip and rumormill: First of all, i was never asked to appear on the finale in any capacity.

Adam Lambert’s “The Glam Nation Tour” Will Kick Off on June 4th

It is really excited to be following the career of Adam Lambert right now.

This dynamic talent has announced that he will kick off his first solo tour on June 4th. The Glam Nation Tour kicks off in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and is being described as an audio and visual spectacular.

“I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement,” Adam said in a statement. “And I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album.”

Added Adam’s manager and American Idol creator Simon Fuller: “Adam is one of the most exciting artists I have ever seen live on stage. As great as he was been on the ‘American Idols Live’ summer shows, this tour is going to surpass anything he’s done before. I think his millions of fans will remember this tour for the rest of their lives.”

Opening for Adam on “The Glam Nation Tour” will be 25-year-old Orianthi and, on select shows, fellow Season 8 American Idol finalist Allison Iraheta.

After the kickoff in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, the tour will work its way to eight more cities in June, with more summer dates to be announced. Tickets for the first date go on sale soon.

Adam Lambert Would Want Leonardo DiCaprio to Play Him in a Biopic

If the story of Adam Lambert's life ever got adapted for the big screen, the singer already knows who he'd like to portray him: Leonardo DiCaprio. The American Idol runner-up thinks the Hollywood heartthrob would be able to fill his shoes just great.

He said: "I have always thought that Leonardo DiCaprio is a really good actor - he could play me, he could get intense."

Adam, 28, also revealed he would love to work with David Bowie in the future, if the music legend could be tempted out of exile. He said: "To be able to work with David Bowie would be amazing - his imagination and creativity are beyond, he's an icon.

The "No Boundaries" singer is also keen to do a duet with a female artist, especially Christina Aguilera or Rihanna. He revealed in a web chat with MySpace Music: "I'd also like to sing with Christina Aguilera - I love her voice, I've been a fan since she came out and I think we would throw down and we would be loud... I would love to work with Rihanna as well - she is so down to earth and sweet and kind and friendly. Her tunes are so catchy and visually she is just giving you beauty."

Danny Gokey is Busy 'Enjoying Life Again'

He may have lost out to Kris Allen and Adam Lambert on American Idol last season, but Danny Gokey has plenty to smile about. The former truck driver's first record, My Best Days, had the strongest album debut for a new male country artist in 18 years. And his single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me," is a top 10 country hit.

"I feel very lucky," Gokey, 29, says of "the progression I've made in the last year and a half." The Milwaukee native has a famously tragic back story, including the 2008 loss of his young wife, Sophia, after a routine heart surgery. As a result, in addition to pouring himself into his music, Gokey is also hard at work expanding Sophia's Heart Foundation, a nonprofit organization honoring his late wife and aimed at connecting school children with music and art.

"I've very busy and enjoying life again," he says. "I'm very happy."

Gokey – who is opening for country powerhouse Sugarland on tour this spring – adds that he "hasn't found anyone to date yet." But in his lyrics and in his life, the singer is open to the possibility of falling in love again.

Of his song "Crazy Not To," he says, it "is about somebody who has experienced the pain of love and doesn't want to go down that path again. But, they find someone so special, they'd be crazy not to pursue it."

"Women really like it," says Gokey of the tune. "It's becoming their favorite song on the album."

Season 8 American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert keeps mom Leila by his side Tuesday during a taping of the talent show in Los Angeles. The singer, who mentored contestants last week, also performed onstage during Wednesday's results show.

'Glee' Among GLAAD Media Awards Winners

"Glee" has another reason to be happy.

The Fox musical comedy was among the winners at the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards. The show's cast and creator Ryan Murphy received the trophy for outstanding comedy series at Saturday's glitzy ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. Murphy, in particular, praised lesbian actress Jane Lynch and gay actor Chris Colfer for their contributions.

"We have a great responsibility with the show," Murphy beamed.

Murphy told the crowd that Colfer's character, outspoken gay soprano Kurt Hummel, would have a boyfriend next season, and the pair would become prom kings. Murphy also promised the crowd that Colfer's character "would never be the victim."

"Iron Chef" Cat Cora presented actress-director Drew Barrymore with the Vanguard Award, which honors efforts to increase visibility and understanding of the gay community. In a humorous video before accepting her trophy, Barrymore listed several of her inspirational gay colleagues, including her agent, lawyer, doctor, stylists and one of her dogs.

"The thing that means the most to me about an evening like this, and why I want to fight and be outspoken about this is because there are so many people who are in desperate need of families," Barrymore said.

Constance McMillen, the lesbian Mississippi teenager who challenged her school district's ban of same-sex prom dates, presented comedian-actress Wanda Sykes with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which is given by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to an openly gay member of the entertainment community for their work toward eliminating homophobia.

"I'm willing to give this award to you," Sykes teased McMillen, "but I'm not gonna do it. It means a lot to me."

Other winners included Logo's "RuPaul's Drag Race" for outstanding reality program and "A Single Man" for outstanding wide release film. "A Single Man" director Tom Ford wasn't on hand to receive his trophy. His partner Richard Buckley accepted the award on Ford's behalf because the filmmaker was stranded in London thanks to the volcanic cloud of ash.

Adam Lambert, the glam-rocking "American Idol" runner-up who raised eyebrows with his racy performance at last year's American Music Awards, capped off the ceremony hosted by transgender actress Candis Cayne and gay actor Wilson Cruz with a performance of his tunes "Music Again" and "Fever." He ended by pleading for diversity within the gay community.

The awards salute fair, accurate and inclusive representation of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives in the media. Other winners -- chosen from 152 nominees in 32 categories -- were awarded at a March ceremony in New York, while the remainder will be presented at a San Francisco ceremony in June.

American Idol Results Night Shocker!

The votes are in on Idol! After the best night of performances so far this season, the top 9 faced America’s decision on Tuesday — and the results were shocking.

Ryan Seacrest, at the start of the hour, informed the audience that “the judges have told me there are shocking surprises.”

Not only did Michael Lynche land in the bottom two for the first time — he was the bottom one, period, while Andrew Garcia was the one to escape to safety.

But Michael happens to be one of the singers most consistently favored by the judges. In fact, they unanimously voted him back into the competition using their one save of the season.

So what did the guy do wrong? Well, he definitely had an off night Tuesday, singing an overblown “Eleanor Rigby” — a contradiction in terms, really, and not of much interest to viewers more captivated by the mop top adorableness of Tim Urban, who avoided the bottom three altogether, for once. It might be a good idea, in fact, never to sing “Eleanor Rigby” on Idol.

But what did Michael do right? He reprised one of his most heartfelt performances, singing “This Woman’s Work” to his wife (and mother of his infant daughter) as she sobbed in the audience. Michael put the song across with soul and just a hint of fighting defiance. He definitely deserved to be saved.

Andrew would not have been saved. And there is no doubt that the judges would have reached out to Aaron Kelly, who was the third singer in the circle of doom this week.

All three women — Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and Katie Stevens — were declared safe at the start of the hour. Ellen had correctly predicted Katie would finally be liberated from the bottom three, thanks to her cover of “Let It Be.” Katie revealed that she’d sung it for her grandmother.

Rihanna performed “Rockstar 101” and looked amazing. David Archuleta sang “Imagine,” as he did when he was a contestant.

Adam Lambert is next week’s mentor. Should be wild — only not this wild. No word on next week's theme.

Adam Lambert to be a Mentor on “American Idol”

Now this is going to be mighty interesting!

Adam Lambert will return to his American Idol roots next week as mentor to the remaining contestants, according to Entertainment Weekly. Adam’s April 13th appearance comes the same day as Glee returns so basically I will be glued to the television that night for two hours.

Adam will perform his current single Whattaya Want From Me on the April 14th results-show telecast. There’s no official word yet on what theme the contestants will tackle during his visit.

This will be a week not to miss Idol!

The 28-year-old entertainer told Paper that he often doesn’t feel like he’s being controversial. “I’m just the same Adam I’ve always been, and in the circles I run in, it’s not all that shocking,” he shared.

As for his favorite designers, Adam cited Gareth Pugh, “the late and great” Alexander McQueen, Galliano and Dolce & Gabbana.

Adam Lambert has only been famous for about a year, but he’s already tired of getting asked questions by reporters that he has answered time and time again. The American Idol sensation took to Twitter this week to point out which queries are starting to drive him a little nuts.

Looks who's on vacation! Adam Lambert escapes the wintry weather Friday, touching down in Mexico for a getaway with his guy friends. Soon, though, it's back to work for the glam rocker, who will perform at a Ryan Seacrest -hosted concert in New York City on February 12th.

A year ago, Adam Lambert marked his birthday by competing in the early rounds of American Idol.

Twelve months later, he’s king of the pop world.

Adam, who was runner-up to Kris Allen on Idol, has certainly been a breath of fresh air with his ability to entertain and shock and the best part about it all is he has the talent to back it up.

Did he go a little too far at the American Music Awards with his naughty performance? Of course! But the controversy that followed was as interesting as the performance itself. ABC banning him, fans embracing him and his album For Your Entertainment continuing to sell, sell, sell.

He may not be selling as many CDs as that other famous TV talent show runner up, Susan Boyle, but Adam seems to be here to stay.
