Glee Creator Reveals Season 2 Secrets!

It feels like Christmas!

Glee creator Ryan Murphy gave gift after gift of season 2 secrets Monday — including who will guest star on the holiday episode, which A-list hunk will be appearing, and what’s up with the Britney episode!

But if you want to be surprised, stop reading now: SPOILERS follow!

Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle will make her acting debut on Glee‘s holiday show, and she’ll sing, too. “Susan is on the same label as us and is a fan of the show,” Murphy told People Magazine. “She’s coming out with a Christmas album, so the story I want to do in our Christmas episode is to have Kurt give her some sort of fantastic makeover and have her sing a song that’s from her album on the show.”

Casting Javier Bardem on the show for the latter part of the season was a favor to the Oscar winner, who’s a major fan. “He requested it,” said Murphy. “I think he bought the first 13 episodes on DVD and became obsessed with it. He said it was like crack. And he’s such a ham that it totally makes sense to me that he would want to sing and dance. I think he’s going to play some demented Spanish rock star substitute teacher something, but I don’t know — we haven’t figured that out yet.”

Sir Paul McCartney is apparently another fan, and Murphy was surprised — to the point of thinking he was being “Punk’d” — to receive a note from the Beatle along with two CDs full of classic songs that Sir Paul would love to let the show use. “I was gob-smacked,” said Murphy, “so of course we are going to do something with him.” The collaboration likely won’t be a full-blown tribute episode, however.

• He just started directing the Britney Spears tribute episode. “She is arguably the most important female, other than Lady Gaga, of the last ten years,” Murphy said, noting the show will showcase “not only her music but about her public image. Many of the kids on the show went into singing and dancing because of her. Also at the heart of it, it’s a show designed to show off the skills of Heather Morris, who plays [Glee's cheerleader] Brittany.” The episode, he said, was Spears’s idea. “I just think that she loves what the show is about, that the show’s about paying tribute to pop culture in a very loving, respectful, kind way. She responded to that.”

• Terri Schuster (Jessalyn Gilsig) will resurface to wreck havoc. “She does not want to be divorced and she’s decided in the middle of the first 10 to seek vengeance by going after someone that would make Will incredibly jealous.” Jonathan Groff will also be back for two spring episodes.

• The planned Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute episode will air around Halloween, featuring the film’s signature song “The Time Warp.” Said Murphy: “My favorite thing to do is to torture the boys and claim that I don’t know who’s wearing those gold lamĂ© briefs, because now they’re all on diets. They’re all in terror that I’m going to tell them that they’re the one who has to get naked.”

• A big-screen Glee isn’t likely (although he’s been asked), but a film version of the show’s live concert tour is. “I would do that just because there are so many kids particularly who love the show, and we can’t go to every city. I think we’re going to shoot that next year.”

New Music: "Everybody Hurts" for Charity

Check out this cover of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts,” featuring some of the biggest artists on the UK and US music scenes.

The song, which will be available for download on Sunday, February 7th, and released on CD the following day, features the voices of Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus, Susan Boyle, Mika, Michael Buble and more.

The collaboration was the brainchild of Simon Cowell, who said late last month that he’d get artists to sing on the track right away.

According to HMV, the single will split proceeds 50/50 between Disasters Emergency Committee and The Sun’s “Helping Haiti” appeal.

Simon Cowell's Charity Single for Haiti

Mariah Carey has signed up to join some of the world’s biggest stars and add her vocals to Simon Cowell’s star-studded cover version of the REM ballad "Everybody Hurts." Simon has revealed the 40-year-old singer-and-actress was so keen to help raise relief funds for the Caribbean island following the two devastating earthquakes, she altered her schedule to fit in the recording.

He said: "We're getting there. We have had an incredible amount of support. It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen. I just found out Mariah has changed her schedule to be able to do this too. It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti. This is something that really matters to us all and I'm so grateful for the support we are getting."

Simon, who hopes the song will be released next Sunday, is thrilled about the extra publicity which will be generated now Mariah has joined the bill. A source added to The Sun newspaper: "Mariah was brilliant, she wanted to help in any way she could. Her name gives the single another great boost.”

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has also joined the track’s all-star cast, in addition to Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, James Blunt and Rod Stewart. The individual vocals are being compiled by producer Steve Robson, using advanced technology which means artists do not need to record together.

Simon Cowell Preps Record to Help Haiti

The star support for the relief work in Haiti is unceasing, with Simon Cowell now joining the effort by organizing a Live Aid-style celebrity record to benefit the cause.

"We are going to do a single. I wanted to do something for Haiti, and we had a request from the Prime Minister to put a record together," the American Idol judge and music mogul, 50, confirmed to reporters at the National Television Awards in London on Wednesday.

Cowell has already asked several of his leading artists, including Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis, to back the project, reports the Sun newspaper. The charity recording is expected to take place within the next few days.

"I've got to get it together in 48 hours, "says Cowell. "It's not the best timing, but I will make it happen."

Adam Lambert Sits Down with Oprah

It's hardly like Adam Lambert to be anything but upfront, so the recent mystery about his possible appearing with Oprah Winfrey on her show was a bit baffling. But baffle no more.

While the American Idol sensation addressed the rumors and Twittered last Thursday, "Oprah: def true," word from the Winfrey camp said that the 27-year-old and the media queen taped their interview Wednesday at the Harpo Studios in Chicago. The show will air Tuesday, January 19th.

In the course of their sit-down, Lambert – sporting a new haircut – touched upon Simon Cowell's announced departure from Idol and its possible ramifications for the show, what life was like for him both pre-Idol and after, and his controversial performance at the American Music Awards.

The singer also performed "Whataya Want from Me" from his new album For Your Entertainment.

Also appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show with Adam is chart-topper Susan Boyle.

Lady Gaga Would Love to Work with Susan Boyle

Lady Gaga is astonished by the success of Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who became a worldwide sensation after appearing on UK reality TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent. The "Bad Romance" singer said she hopes they can collaborate on a song in the future.

“I love Susan Boyle," she said. "She is my woman of the year. She has achieved more in this year than most artists will in a lifetime. This time last year nobody even knew who she was and now she is knocking the world’s most established artists off the album and singles charts.

“Our styles are different. I don’t know if we could work together, but never say never. It would be great to work with somebody of that talent.”

The 23-year-old star said she had watched the clip of Susan singing on the show where she surprised the judges, including music mogul Simon Cowell, with her voice a “thousand times.” “Every time I see Simon Cowell’s face it makes me laugh out loud," she told The Sun newspaper. "He thinks he knows everything but even he wasn’t expecting that.”

The "Paparazzi" hitmaker is not the only star to express an interest in performing with the ‘Wild Horses’ singer. Rapper 50 Cent has previously said he wants to work on a track with her, while opera star Andrea Bocelli is to team up with Susan on a song for new UK TV talent show Pop Star to Opera Star.

Susan's debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, was the fastest-selling debut LP ever released by a woman and is currently neck-and-neck with Taylor Swift's Fearless for the top-selling album of 2009.

Susan Boyle Destroys U.S. Chart Records

Susan Boyle has had a great week. The 'Britain's Got Talent' star sold an astounding 701,000 copies of her debut album, 'I Dreamed a Dream,' in the U.S., giving her the best first week sales of 2009 and the best-selling debut album by any woman since SoundScan began tracking in 1991.

It's also the biggest debut album by any artist since Snoop Dogg's 'Doggystyle' in 1993.

Her record label, Columbia, said Wednesday that 'Dream' has moved a whopping 3 million copies around the world in its opening week.

Also amazing is the way people purchased the album. Although digital sales have grown for years -- with iTunes being the main beneficiary -- consumers headed back to the record store for Boyle's debut.

Columbia chairman Steve Barnett told the New York Times that only about 39,000 of Ms. Boyle's total in the United States were sold through iTunes. Consumers could also purchase the album on shopping network QVC.

"The reason that this record really did what it did," Mr. Barnett told the Times, "was that people wanted to get it and own it, to feel like they're a part of it."

Before Boyle, the biggest seller of the year was Eminem's 'Relapse.'

It was not, however, a record-breaking week for a decidedly different reality star: Adam Lambert. The 'American Idol' runner-up opened at No. 3 with 198,000 copies sold.

Susan Boyle to Appear on Dancing with the Stars

Susan Boyle is set to dazzle the Dancing with the Stars crowd – with her singing, not her dancing feet.

The Scottish singer, 48, will fly to Los Angeles for an appearance on the hit show early next week. "She's excited and happy," says her brother, John Boyle. "She loves America and loves the people. She appreciates their honesty."

Boyle, who made a previous U.S. appearance on America's Got Talent last September, will likely sing material from her upcoming CD, I Dreamed A Dream, due out November 24th.

And she is beginning – on a modest scale – to enjoy the fruits of her recent labors: Boyle bought a three-piece sofa and recliner set in burgundy leather for her small home in Blackburn, Scotland, and a new refrigerator. "Moneywise, she's very frugal," says her brother.

He adds, "She wasn't happy staying in London full-time. She can walk around in Blackburn. Just say, 'Hi' and 'How's it going?'to the locals."

Susan Boyle's Debut CD Reveals Eclectic Mix

Susan Boyle Is Coming to America – To Sing

Her first dream – winning Britain's Got Talent – didn't come through. But nothing will keep Scottish singing phenom Susan Boyle's second wish – to perform in America – from coming true.

Boyle, 48, is taking some time off from completing her album, due on November 24th, to jet across the Atlantic and perform in the States next week. She will appear on the America's Got Talent finale on September 16th.

To prepare for the show, the songstress from the small town of Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland, has had two fittings this week at the up-market store Suzanne Neville in Beauchamp Place, London.

"It's going to be sensational, really wow. But it's obviously under wraps," a rep for the designer says. "Susan was very excited when she came into the store about her performance and about the dress. She's going to look amazing."

Her American appearance will build on the remarkable buzz around her. She has already shown her career's enormous potential, as the I Dreamed A Dream album has topped the Amazon.com's pre-order charts.

Boyle is still working on her upcoming album and has recorded the Madonna song "You'll See." She is thought to have chosen the song herself.

Her collection will also likely include tunes such as the Les Miserables hit that made her such an overnight sensation on Britain's Got Talent. She eventually finished second in the contest.

Simon Cowell 'Made Mistakes' with Susan Boyle

In light of Susan Boyle's second canceled concert, Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell admits that, in the case of managing Boyle's fast-rising fame, "I've made mistakes."

"Looking back on it all, it has become clear to me that we didn't handle the situation with Susan as well as we could have," Cowell wrote in a telling editorial that appeared in Britain's Daily Mail this weekend. "She seemed fine with all the attention. … I thought perhaps naively that she was in control."

As the May 30th finale approached, however, Cowell was getting calls from the show’s production team telling him the 48-year-old Scottish singer was anything but.

"It had become clear that Susan was finding the experience difficult to cope with," writes Cowell, who insisted that Boyle always have a close friend or relative with her at all times for support.

Before the finale aired, Cowell chatted with Boyle, but "I didn't pick up on any unduly troubling signs," he says. But when the votes were tallied and the dance troupe Diversity took the top prize, "I looked over at her face and thought: 'Christ, she doesn't know how to deal with not winning,' " Cowell writes. "It was a bad moment."

Cowell chose not to go into details about Boyle's hospitalization immediately following the show’s finale, only saying, "No need to repeat the details here – that wouldn't be fair to Susan."

On Tour

Though Cowell gave Boyle the option of skipping the Britain’s Got Talent live tour, Boyle was determined to take part. Still, tour producers agreed that she could bow out of performing when she felt tired.

"When she does perform I am thrilled by the reception she gets," says Cowell, who insists no matter what happens, "I will continue to support her."

Susan Boyle: Coming to America’s Got Talent?

Susan Boyle may be jumping across the pond.

The breakout star of Britain’s Got Talent, who captured the attention of the entire world when her video of her audition went viral, has been invited to perform on the U.S. version of the show.

America’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan spoke with reporters Tuesday and said the Scottish songstress is welcome to perform on the NBC talent competition.

“If she’s up for it and she is well enough,” said Morgan, “our feeling is she probably will [appear on AGT]. Absolutely!”

Boyle, who was briefly hospitalized for exhaustion in a clinic in London after she landed in second place on the British competition, has returned to performing, and Simon Cowell, who produces both the American and British versions of the show, plans to bring her to the American stage, Morgan said.

“Susan singing live to 25 million Americans? That would be great!” Morgan said, adding that, “she still gets a bit tired sometimes, but she is 48.” Performing in America would be a good match, according to her brother John Boyle, who said that 95 percent of his sister’s fan mail comes from the U.S.

America’s Got Talent premieres June 23 on NBC.

Susan Boyle Falls Short at Britain's Got Talent Finale

Despite being the runaway favorite, Susan Boyle failed in her bid to net the big prize on Britain's Got Talent.

She was beat in Saturday's finale by dance troupe Diversity and finished in second place.

"The best people won," Boyle said. "They are very entertaining lads. I wish you all the best."

Asked what the future holds by the show's hosts, Boyle added, "I hope to get an album out. Who knows? I will just play it by ear."

As for street dancers Diversity, judge Simon Cowell said, "You can see them open the Olympics. What you saw tonight was absolutely immaculate."

Cowell added of Boyle, "I am gutted for Susan but she was incredibly gracious. Susan's come out of this very well. We've never had a runner-up like Susan Boyle before. She's won over a lot of fans tonight through her graciousness. She's a really sweet person. She has a massive future ahead of her."

In the show's finale, the Scottish singer, who has captivated the world in the last seven weeks, reprised her performance of "I Dreamed A Dream" from the musical Les Miserables, the same song from her audition, which went on to be viewed 100 million times online.

Her prize would have been $150,000 and the chance to perform in front of Queen Elizabeth in the annual Royal Variety Performance.

After her barnstorming performance at the finale in London, Boyle demurely said a simple "thank you" to the people at home, the audience and the producers of the show. It had been a pressure-filled week for the 48-year-old, who had to be moved to a secret location after hounding by the media peaked as accusations flew of her swearing at her hotel.

Asked if it was worth it, she said, "Well worth it. I really feel at home on stage. Of course I do, I'm among friends."

The Judges' Take

The judges were more effusive. In the words of Piers Morgan, she sang the song "better than you did last time" and "that, to me, was the greatest performance in Britain's Got Talent history. I loved it." He, like fellow judges Cowell – who was famously stunned when he first saw her – and actress Amanda Holden were on their feet at the end of her performance.

With applause dying down, Holden told her, "Susan, I have never heard such powerful, confident vocals. You sang it so well this evening. You have been under an enormous amount of pressure but you did it, girl. Simon had a tear in his eye and I have never seen that before."

And Cowell said, "You had the guts to come back here tonight, face your critics and you beat them, and that's the most important thing. I've got to know the real Susan Boyle – which is not the person I've seen portrayed in the media – who is still a very nice shy person who just wants a break. I absolutely adore you."

The favorite from the beginning, Boyle became a household name after surprising the judges and the audience in the show that aired in April. And then, on May 24, she made it into the finale after performing "Memory" from the musical Cats in the semi-finals.

Since her first appearance caught the imagination of the world, Boyle, 48, has been analyzed at almost every step of the – even a $50 hairstyle was dubbed a makeover.

Britain Is Watching

On Saturday, more than 15 million viewers were expected to tune in and three of Boyle's nieces – including Kirsty Foy, who told People, "We're all disappointed but very proud of Susan. She was fantastic tonight." – were in the audience. Back home in Blackburn, Scotland, families, including babies in strollers and infant carriers, gathered in the town's Community Education Centre. Handmade banners that read, "Good luck Susan," "Vote 4 Susan" and "Hands Up 4 Susan," were hung on brick walls. Fans watched on a giant screen with the show being projected and audio echoing throughout the hall.

When her image appeared, the crowd stood up and applauded so loudly Boyle's performance could hardly be heard. Some waved their hands in the air; some audience members stomped their feet, and others chanted "Susan, Susan, Susan." At the end, young boys left the hall chanting, "We love Susan Boyle!"

Before the results, Boyle told the TV cameras that people will see a "new Susan Boyle, Susan Boyle the singer. The pressure put on me this week has been overwhelming. It's the most important night of my life tonight. When I step on the stage it's the accumulation of 40 years of dreaming. A lifelong ambition."

Susan Boyle Makes Britain's Got Talent Final

Susan Boyle dazzled Britain’s Got Talent yet again Sunday night with That Voice, winning her place in the show’s finale competition next Saturday.

The 48-year-old Scottish singer defeated seven other performers by belting out "Memory" from the musical Cats, and drew a standing ovation from the live audience.

"You are one special lady, I have to say, you really are," panel judge Simon Cowell told her after her performance.

Cowell then apologized to the now-famously never-been-kissed church volunteer for underestimating her when she first auditioned in April.

"You know what, I just want to apologize because of the way we treated you before you sang the first time," he said. "You made me and everyone else look very stupid and I'm very happy for you, very proud for you."

Back then, she knocked the judges socks off when she crooned "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables.

This time, the songstress' new makeover was also a knockout. Though she promised she'd never change too much, on Sunday Boyle wore a sparkly purple dress, professional-looking makeup and showed off well-groomed eyebrows – yes, the once-frumpy Boyle looked downright glamorous as all eyes were upon her.

"What pressure?" she said, when asked after her performance if she had been nervous. "It was really good tonight, I really enjoyed it ... I'm very happy to be here and thank you all for your support."

Donny Osmond & Susan Boyle Duet In The Works

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle has made headlines all over the world for her amazing voice and now another dream may come true for her. Donny Osmond wants to do a duet with the woman who has the voice of an angel.

Smart move on Donny’s part…if we do say so ourselves. Boyle confessed that Donny is her inspiration and would love to sing with the former teen idol. Well lucky for her, Osmund agreed and said, “I would die to do a duet with her.”

Okay, so Susan recently claimed that she had never been kissed…could Donny be her first? His tentative plan for their duet will be to have Susan visit him in Vegas. He would invite her to join him on stage to be part of their act, the Donny & Marie revue. He has visions of singing to her and then having her sing to him. Corny? Yep. Will we watch? Yep.

Simon Cowell: Susan Boyle Could Lose Britain's Got Talent

Susan Boyle has become an overnight singing sensation, but that doesn't mean the golden-voiced star will win Britain's Got Talent, according to show judge Simon Cowell.

"I keep saying to everybody, she's got to win the next stage. It's [up to] her," he said Friday in Los Angeles while promoting America's Got Talent. "She has four weeks to prepare for the biggest time of her life. She's got to sing better than she's ever sung before. But it could all go horribly wrong now because there are so many distractions."

Still, Cowell says that discovering a singular talent like Boyle is exactly the reason behind the show. "This is why we came up with this show in the first place," said Cowell, noting that America's Got Talent, like it's British counterpart, has no rules about who can audition. Anyone can perform any talent at "whatever age you are – glamorous or un ... We're all guilty on the panel of judging [Boyle] before she sang. We were completely and utterly wrong. It's terribly embarrassing."

Piers Morgan, who is also a judge on Britain's Got Talent, praised Boyle as well. "Susan Boyle is very good for us," he said. "She's laid down the challenge [as] a talent that comes out of nowhere that can really startle and amaze."

Whether Boyle wins or loses the talent show, she has clearly won many fans. "For someone like Susan, it's once in a lifetime – the world falls in love with somebody," said show judge Sharon Osbourne. "It's unanimous. The world is in love with her."

The Britain's Got Talent finale is scheduled to air May 24 in the U.K.

Check Out Susan Boyle's New Look

Having worn what looked like a large beige doily for her TV debut on Britain's Got Talent, golden-voiced Susan Boyle has emerged anew – in a loud print dress covered by a leather-look jacket and, points out an amazed British Daily Mail, high heels.

And while Boyle, 48, has said that changing her look is out of the question, the Daily Mirror quotes her as saying, "I need to sort out my dress sense."

People.com readers agree, to some extent. In a poll of whether or not Boyle needs to change her look, 52 percent said yes as of Wednesday morning, while 48 percent apparently like Susan the way she is – as does Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, the actress told People.

"People want the average woman who shows you dreams are still possible and that hopes will still happen for you," says Holden.

Adds Holden: "If we made her with big toothy grin or bouffant-y hair, it would kill who she is standing for. Whether she knows it or not, she is standing for the average person in the street. I am sure she will comb her hair and have a bit of [lipstick] on. But she won't be going under the knife or anything like that!"

Simon Cowell's Not Only Impressed by Adam Lambert

Move over, Adam Lambert. There's someone else who Simon Cowell likes.

Susan Boyle, a 47-year-old contestant on 'Britain's Got Talent,' unexpectedly wowed Cowell and the other two judges, including Simon-like Brit Piers Morgan, with her rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' from 'Les Miserables.'

In her pre-audition interview, Boyle admits she's never been married or kissed, wants to be a professional singer like Elaine Paige and elicits a few eye rolls from Simon before singing and ultimately earning a spot in the next round.

"Without a doubt, that is the biggest surprise I've had in three years of the show," Morgan told Boyle.
"I knew the minute you walked out on that stage that we were going to hear something extraordinary and I was right," Cowell said.

Boyle, who hails from a small village called West Lothian, has become an international Internet sensation. The YouTube video of her performance has reached over 5.5 million viewers.

Here's the video for your viewing pleasure.
