New Music: "Everybody Hurts" for Charity

Check out this cover of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts,” featuring some of the biggest artists on the UK and US music scenes.

The song, which will be available for download on Sunday, February 7th, and released on CD the following day, features the voices of Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus, Susan Boyle, Mika, Michael Buble and more.

The collaboration was the brainchild of Simon Cowell, who said late last month that he’d get artists to sing on the track right away.

According to HMV, the single will split proceeds 50/50 between Disasters Emergency Committee and The Sun’s “Helping Haiti” appeal.

Judy Garland is Top Gay Icon of All Time

Movie legend Judy Garland has been named the top female gay icon of all time in a new online poll.

The late Hollywood star was voted above celebrities including Kylie Minogue and Madonna, who were named second and third respectively, and another film icon, Marilyn Monroe, who came in sixth place.

Meanwhile Sir Elton John was awarded the title for the top male gay icon in the survey by http://www.onepoll.com/.

The Rocket Man was placed above late Queen star Freddie Mercury, British actor Stephen Fry, and Faith hitmaker George Michael, as well as playwright Oscar Wilde, who rounded out the top five.

A spokesperson from http://www.onepoll.com/, who commissioned the survey of over 5,000 gay men and women, said: “Interestingly only one of the men in the top 10 list of male celebrity gay icons isn’t gay – David Beckham. And yet most of the women put on a pedestal by the gay community are straight.

“It just shows that to advocate a certain way of living, you don’t have to live the lifestyle but simply be more accepting of those around you.”

Kylie Minogue to Release New York Live Set CD

Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue is to release a download-only concert album, "Kylie Live in New York."

Set for global release December 14th, the album was recorded at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom earlier this fall as part of the diminutive singer's first North American tour.

The 25-song set contains live versions of international hits "Confide in Me," "The Locomotion" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" -- the latter in its remixed form with the New Order track "Blue Monday" and renamed "Boombox/Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head." ITunes customers will also receive three bonus tracks.

International release is being handled by Parlophone/EMI, excluding Australia and New Zealand, where the artist is signed to Mushroom Records.

To preview the release, YouTube will be running a one-hour audio stream of the first half of the show from midnight U.K. time December 12th. The stream will be available for 24 hours.

Kylie Minogue's debut U.S. tour took place September 30th to October 11th this year.

Kylie Minogue Gives Fans a "Wow" 1st US Tour

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue kicked off her first-ever American tour with a driving disco beat, a bevy of well-muscled dancers, and a lot of leg, hoping to finally crack the lucrative U.S. market.

The pop diva, no stranger to spectacle, made her first appearance adorned in pink feathers as she was lowered onto the stage from a metallic skull.

"Well, good evening -- finally!" exclaimed the 41-year-old Grammy-winning singing, who has never toured the United States before. "All this anticipation -- on my part!"

In a fast-paced, two-hour show, Minogue made her way through her international hits, including "Slow," "Spinning Around" and "Wow." But the biggest applause greeted "Can't Get You Out of My Head," her 2001 club hit.

The tour, which began Wednesday night in Oakland outside San Francisco, takes Minogue to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, with one stop in Toronto.

Minogue first began her career as an actress on the Australian soap opera "Neighbors," but was catapulted to fame after her 1987 remake of '60s hit "Locomotion" hit the top of the charts.

Some 10 studio albums have followed and a handful of movies, giving Minogue mega-star status in Britain, Europe and Asia as well as her native Australia.

Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 but she returned to performing after recovering from surgery and chemotherapy. In a world tour last year she visited more than 21 countries.

Her career also includes a lingerie line, perfumes, linen and a children's book.

But the star, who has a wax image of her likeness in Madame Tussauds, has never quite managed to crack the U.S. market, a notion that seemed incomprehensible to one fan.

"Americans are stupid, obviously," said Dustin Thornhill, 28, of San Francisco, who was at the show with friend Nicky Bangles, 24. The pair planned to see Minogue again in Los Angeles.

"We're stalking her -- sort of," Thornhill said.

Like many in the audience, the two said they were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to see Minogue perform.

"We're so excited. We've been waiting millions of years," Bangles said, adding that Minogue is an icon to gay men.

"She wears outfits that are amazing. What gay man wouldn't love it?" Bangles asked, adding, "Madonna who?"

To a constantly shifting set of images projected on a video backdrop -- including some of well-chiseled men in the shower and others working out with gym equipment -- Minogue and her scantily-clad dancers made their way through a series of hits.
The singer delivered the sassy fashion she is known for, sporting a host of leg-baring outfits that included silver tunics, black boots, a Nautical cap and a sparkly black leotard.

"Kylie's a diva!" gushed Todd Hedgpeth, 39, of San Francisco.

Minogue littlest American fan at the concert may have been Alexis Chiu, 9, who was looking at the T-shirts for sale with her mother, Donna. Why was she at Minogue's first U.S. tour?

"I've liked her since I was a baby," said the youngest Chiu.

"She likes that "Na, na, na" song," explained her mother.

Kylie & Dannii Minogue Planning Double Wedding

"Spinning Around" singer Kylie Minogue is ready to tie the knot with Spanish model Andres Velencoso, but she wants to share her nuptials with younger sis Dannii Minogue in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia.

A source said: “The girls have been joking for years about racing each other down the aisle, but now it looks like it could come true. Dannii has been telling pals she has always dreamed of having a joint wedding with her big sister, and this is the first time both sisters have been blissfully happy in relationships at the same time.”

The celebrity sisters’ parents Ron and Carol are thrilled with the plans and 37-year-old Dannii, who is in a relationship with rugby star-turned-model Kris Smith, has already started looking at wedding dresses for the lavish event.

The source added to Britain’s Look magazine: "Nothing would make Kylie and Dannii’s parents happier than to see their girls get hitched back home in Melbourne. The most likely venues include the Marquis of Lothian’s elegant estate Melbourne Hall or at the Domaine Chandon vineyard in the Yarra Valley, not far from the city."

There is already talk of wedding dresses, with Dannii leaning towards Australian designer Collette Dinnigan, while Kylie is torn between going vintage or calling on her designer pal Matthew Williamson.

Kylie, 41, is believed to have bought a luxury apartment in Andres' hometown of Tossa De Mar in Spain. Earlier this year, the blonde star hinted she was ready to tie the knot, saying: “I’m happier with him than I ever have been before. He could be The One.”

Kylie Minogue Engaged to Spanish Model Andrés Velencoso

Australian tabloids are reporting that songstress Kylie Minogue, 40, is engaged to 31-year-old male model Andrés Velencoso, her beau of about a year.

The duo are reportedly shopping for a home together in the Spanish fishing village of Tossa Del Mar, Velencoso's hometown.

Minogue got tongues wagging when she told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival, "I'm happier with him than I have ever been before. You never know, he could be the one."

Minogue was previously in a relationship with French actor Olivier Martinez, who was rumored to have cheated on her before their eventual breakup.

Velencoso is an established male model, and was the face of Ermenegildo Zegna, Elie Tahari, and Etro.

Kylie Minogue Sets First-Ever North American Concerts

While relatively unknown in the U.S. but beloved elsewhere, multi-platinum Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue will perform in six North American cities this fall, including New York and Los Angeles, her concert promoters have announced.

The singer, 40, is also slated to appear on Friday's fourth hour of NBC's Today show, with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.

"I've wanted to tour in America and Canada for years and know that fans have been waiting a long time for this," Minogue said in a statement. "I'm thrilled that the opportunity has finally arrived."

The concerts are to take place Sept. 30, at Oakland, California's Fox Theater; Oct. 3, at Las Vegas's the Pearl (Palms Hotel & Casino); Oct. 4, at the Hollywood Bowl; Oct. 7, at Chicago's Congress Theater; Oct. 9, at Toronto's Air Canada Centre; and Oct. 11, at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom.

Kylie Minogue & Company Provide Australia with 'Sound Relief'

International pop star Kylie Minogue was uncharacteristically dressed down for her performance at the Sound Relief concert to benefit those left devastated after the Australian bushfires.

The Australian native made a point to tell the audience of her pared down performance, "I don't have a band, I don't have dancers, in fact there ain't one feather on me tonight." And with that, the singer sang "I Still Call Australia Home."

Other performers at the event included Taylor Swift, Jack Johnson and Chris Martin from Coldplay, who played "Viva La Vida" and then "Yellow," at which time yellow balloons were released into the crowd.

Barry Gibb and Olivia Newton John also performed at the relief concert event which took place in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.

Kylie & Dannii sing some ABBA

The Minogue Sisters, Kylie and Dannii, have recorded a duet of the ABBA classic "The Winner Takes It All".

Rumors are circulating that this remake of one of ABBA most famous tunes (and one of my ABBA all-time favorites) will be included in Kylie's forthcoming CD.
