The star support for the relief work in Haiti is unceasing, with Simon Cowell now joining the effort by organizing a Live Aid-style celebrity record to benefit the cause.
"We are going to do a single. I wanted to do something for Haiti, and we had a request from the Prime Minister to put a record together," the American Idol judge and music mogul, 50, confirmed to reporters at the National Television Awards in London on Wednesday.
Cowell has already asked several of his leading artists, including Susan Boyle and Leona Lewis, to back the project, reports the Sun newspaper. The charity recording is expected to take place within the next few days.
"I've got to get it together in 48 hours, "says Cowell. "It's not the best timing, but I will make it happen."
