Lady Gaga is astonished by the success of Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who became a worldwide sensation after appearing on UK reality TV talent show Britain’s Got Talent. The "Bad Romance" singer said she hopes they can collaborate on a song in the future.
“I love Susan Boyle," she said. "She is my woman of the year. She has achieved more in this year than most artists will in a lifetime. This time last year nobody even knew who she was and now she is knocking the world’s most established artists off the album and singles charts.
“Our styles are different. I don’t know if we could work together, but never say never. It would be great to work with somebody of that talent.”
The 23-year-old star said she had watched the clip of Susan singing on the show where she surprised the judges, including music mogul Simon Cowell, with her voice a “thousand times.” “Every time I see Simon Cowell’s face it makes me laugh out loud," she told The Sun newspaper. "He thinks he knows everything but even he wasn’t expecting that.”
The "Paparazzi" hitmaker is not the only star to express an interest in performing with the ‘Wild Horses’ singer. Rapper 50 Cent has previously said he wants to work on a track with her, while opera star Andrea Bocelli is to team up with Susan on a song for new UK TV talent show Pop Star to Opera Star.
Susan's debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, was the fastest-selling debut LP ever released by a woman and is currently neck-and-neck with Taylor Swift's Fearless for the top-selling album of 2009.
