Glee's Chord Overstreet Won't Appear in Playgirl

Glee star Chord Overstreet has turned down the chance to strip off for the pages of Playgirl magazine.

The hunky actor, who plays a singing football player in the musical TV show, was offered up to $100,000 to show off his toned torso for the raunchy publication - but he said no.

A Playgirl spokesperson tells EOnline.com, "We couldn't work it out. Chord's people decided against it."

Playgirl bosses also missed out on another celebrity spread after they snubbed an opportunity to buy leaked photos which allegedly featured Kanye West baring all.

The rapper hit the headlines last month when shots of a man nude from the stomach down began circulating online, with several websites claiming it was West in the snaps - and now Playgirl's editors regret losing out on the scoop.

The rep adds, "It would have cost us $100,000 (to buy the West shots), and we said no. We should have said yes."

Lady Gaga Sings for Cher (and Her Fans) at the MTV Video Music Awards

Lady Gaga had a reason to sing at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

The pop star, nominated for a record-setting 13 trophies, took home top honors, winning video of the year for "Bad Romance" – and seized the opportunity to trill for Cher, who presented her with the Moonman trophy.

"I never thought I'd be asking Cher to hold my meat purse," a tearful Gaga said at the podium in a bacon-colored outfit.

"I promised that if I won this tonight, I'd announce the name of my new record," she said. After exhaling, Gaga revealed it is titled Born This Way. Then, she belted out a refrain as Cher looked on. "God makes no mistakes," she sang. "I'm on the right track baby. I was born this way."

Throughout the night, Gaga turned the ceremony, live from L.A.'s Nokia Theater, into her very own fashion show, at one point noting that she wasn't prepared for all her acceptance speeches.

"This outfit's too heavy to walk in," she said while accepting best pop video. "I apologize if I'm a little slow this evening."

Chelsea's Party

Gaga got a lively welcome from show host Chelsea Handler, who poked fun at the pop star's penchant for outrageous outfits. Taking the stage to "Bad Romance" in a tattered, glittery skirt and face-obscuring hat that resembled an over-sized house, Handler earned laughs as she skewered celebrities in her monologue.

Some, like Lindsay Lohan, were happy to laugh at themselves. The starlet, who recently left jail and a court-ordered rehab, appeared at the start of the show in pre-recorded sketch.

Joshing about Handler's love of drinking – the E! host frequently jokes about her taste for vodka – Lohan teased, "Pull it together! Do you think anyone wants to work with a drunk? Take it from me!"

Performance Heavy Night

While many awards were handed out, it was performances that dominated the evening.

Two-time winner Eminem kicked off the show with "Not Afraid," backed by a drum corps and string section. He was soon joined by a flame-haired Rihanna, who teamed up with him on "Love the Way You Lie."

Taylor Swift and Kanye West, both the subject of much buzz given last year's antics, also performed separate blistering songs.

And to the delight of screaming female fans, best new artist winner Justin Bieber performed "Baby" outside the Nokia Theater, backed by a team of syncopated dancers.

Grammy Nominations: Beyonce Up for 10 Awards

The Grammy nominations were announced last night during a prime-time special on CBS. In case you were not watching, we are going to share with you who some of the major nominees are: Beyoncé topped the nominations with 10, Taylor Swift garnered eight, and the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell, and Kanye West each earned six nods.

Watch out! Kanye, Taylor and Beyonce all at the same awards show again? Recipe for disaster!

Anyway, some other multiple nominees: David Guetta, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga received five nods each; and Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino, Kings Of Leon, John Newton, RedOne, Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain, and Keith Urban each received four nominations.

In order to qualify for a Grammy nomination this year, the eligibility period for releases was from October 1, 2008 to Augugust 31, 2009 — one month shorter than the typical eligibility period. According to the Recording Academy, this change was done to accommodate an earlier Grammy Awards show during the awards-heavy first few months of the year.

Lady Gaga Says Her Show Will Go On

Pop star Lady Gaga said on Friday she and Kanye West decided jointly to cancel their "Fame Kills" tour, and she will embark on her own headlining concert series soon while West plans to drop out of the spotlight.

"It was a mutual decision," Gaga said as she arrived for Billboard Women in Music Event where she received this years Rising Star award.

"Kanye's going to take some time off. But the good news is that I'm going on tour in a few weeks."

Lori Ann Gibson, Gaga's longtime choreographer who was working on dances for the shows, claimed on her Twitter feed that "creative differences" between the Gaga and West led to the tour's abrupt demise.

The cancellation comes just days after the two pop stars announced the dates for an arena tour that was to kick off next month. Concert promoter Live Nation announced the cancellation news on Thursday and said refunds will be issued.

The cancellation comes on the heels of wave of negative publicity for West, following his interruption of Taylor Swift's award-winning moment at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

Madonna to Kanye West: Put a Lid on It

Madonna had all sorts of things to say on the radio show "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" on Thursday, October 1st.

Here’s what the 51-year-old Material Mom had to say while being flirted with by Seacrest:

On 34-year-old Ryan Seacrest being a suitor for her: “Honey, you’re kind of old for me (laughs).”

On how young she likes her guys: “You have to be old enough to dress yourself… Younger people are generally more adventurous - they’re more open, more fun - have you met many guys my age? Guys my age are married or divorced or grumpy, fat and balding.”

On her self-image: “My body is part of my job. If I’m not in good shape, then how can I dance around on stage with my butt hanging out, right? I look in the mirror and go ‘hmm-mm. Less cake, more work.’”

On Kanye West: “Yeah, he’s a bit impulsive. I would’ve given him a good talking to. He needs to put a lid on it. I do think he’s very talented but he gets confused sometimes.”

On having famous guests at her concerts: “I was getting super-sharp looks from [Jennifer Lopez]. Her ponytail distracted me. Whenever artists come to see my show, they’re studying me.”

Kanye West and Lady Gaga Tour Canceled

Kanye West and Lady Gaga's highly anticipated tour is over before it even began.

Just days after announcing dates for an ambitious joint that was to kick off next month, the tour was canceled.

Live Nation announced the news in a brief statement Thursday that did not offer any explanation. Refunds are available for those who brought tickets for the tour. It was to kick off Nov. 10 in Phoenix and was scheduled to run through at least January.

The name of the tour was to be "Fame Kills" — a sentiment West may have been feeling in recent weeks. The Grammy-winning rapper has endured a firestorm of negative publicity since he hijacked the award-winning moment of country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift at last month's MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift had made history as the first country act to win at the VMAs, and was giving her acceptance speech after nabbing a trophy for best female video. West — who has a long history of awards-show meltdowns — grabbed the microphone and declared that Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" was one of the "best videos of all time."

A crushed Swift did not finish her speech then but did later when Beyonce brought her back on stage after winning video of the year.

West endured boos from the celebrity crowd that night, and the negative reaction kept growing — even President Barack Obama was caught calling him a "jackass" during remarks to reporters that the White House believed were off-the-record.

An almost tearful West gave one of three apologies for his behavior during the premiere of "The Jay Leno Show" last month. He said that hadn't fully taken time to grieve for his mother, who died suddenly in November 2007, and hinted that a break would be coming.

"So many celebrities, they never take the time off," he said. "I've never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, 'cause, and I don't try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That's period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve."

But shortly after that, the "Fame Kills" tour — which had been in the works for months — was announced.

Publicists for both West and Lady Gaga did not immediately return requests for comment. A representative for Live Nation said there was no further information.

President Obama Calls Kanye West a 'Jackass'

When, oh when, will the politicians learn to treat every microphone like a live microphone?

President Obama has found himself unwittingly in the middle of the awards show controversy between Kanye West and Taylor Swift after audio of chit-chat with a TV reporter leaked out on Tuesday.

Before a CNBC interview got underway Monday, the network's reporter John Harwood asked Obama if his daughters were upset that West had interrupted Swift's acceptance speech during Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards show, reports Politico.com.

"I thought that was really inappropriate," Obama answered, in what the White House believed to be off-the-record comments.

According to audio of the conversation, which hit the Web Tuesday afternoon, Obama went on to say, "You know, it was like, she's getting an award and what are you butting in? … The young lady seems like a perfectly nice person, she's getting her award and what's he doing up there? He's a jackass."

When White House aides and camera crew members gasped and laughed at the president's candor, Obama continued, "C'mon guys. Cut the president some slack. I've got a lot of other stuff on my plate."

Asked about the comments, White House spokesman Bill Burton said Tuesday: "Look, I'm not going to get into what the President had to say in an off-the-record conversation. But you should see what [White House chief of staff] Rahm [Emanuel] said about it."

Kanye West Apologizes to Taylor Swift

Kanye West is "SOOOOO SORRY" for interrupting Taylor Swift at Sunday’s Video Music Awards. The rapper posted an apology on his Web site’s blog after the show in his usual style of all caps.

"I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment," he wrote. "Beyonce's video was the best of this decade . . . I'm sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I'm sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologize to Taylor."

The first winner of the night, Swift won best female video but was cut off during her acceptance speech by the rapper, who took her microphone and announced that fellow nominee Beyoncé had "one of the greatest videos of all time," in "Single Ladies."

"I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I'd just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage," Swift recalled after the show. "And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."

“I'm still very happy for Taylor," West wrote. "I really feel bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry."

Beyoncé Shares VMA Moment with Taylor Swift

After Kanye West cut off best female video winner Taylor Swift at the Video Music Awards in New York on Sunday, the night’s top winner came to her rescue.

While accepting the Moonman for video of the year, Beyoncé Knowles invited Swift onto the stage so she could finish her speech, which West interrupted when she beat out Knowles on the night's first category.

"This is amazing," Knowles said. "I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life, so I would like for Taylor to come out and have her moment."

A smiling Swift came out and said, "Maybe we can try this again." She continued, thanking "all my fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer."

The two winners, both in bright red dresses, hugged and left the stage together.

"It was so wonderful and gracious of her," Swift told reporters after the show. "She's always been a great person and I thought I couldn't love Beyoncé more and tonight happened and it was just wonderful."

While mentions of Kanye, who was not seen after the Swift incident, drew boos throughout the evening there were still plenty of positive notes. Some of the night's big winners included:

Best Rock Video: "21 Guns," Green Day. The band rocked out with fans during their subsequent performance, inviting dozens of audience members on stage with them.

Best Pop Video: Britney Spears's "Womanizer." The pop princess was on tour and, in a remotely video-taped acceptance speech, showed off a rockin' body reminiscent of the 2000 VMAs, when she stunned the crowd in a nude-colored bodysuit.

Best Male Video: T.I.'s "Live Your Life." T.I., who was also unable to accept his award – in this case, because he is serving a prison term.

Best Hip Hop Video: Eminem's "We Made You." The Detroit rapper modestly accepted his Moonman and thanked fans "for sticking by me."

Best New Artist: Lady Gaga, whose pa-pa-pa-pa-poker face was barely visible behind a bizarre lacy red mask. But as she accepted her Moonman, the pop star removed the accessory to thank her fans, and said her award was "for God, and for the gays."

Let's not forget surprise guest Madonna opened the show with a heartfelt tribute to Michael Jackson in which she called him, "so unique, so original, so rare. He was a king." And, Madonna added, he's got a loyal following of royal subjects.

"My sons, age 9 and 4, are obsessed with [him]. There's a whole lot of crotch-grabbing and moonwalking going on in my house."

After Madonna's speech, Janet Jackson took the stage at the end of a Michael Jackson medley. Performing in front of the"Scream" video that featured her and Michael, Janet channeled her late brother with his world-famous dance moves.

Taylor Swift Wins Best Female Video – Upsetting Kanye West

In true VMA form, the MTV awards show did not stick to the script.

The first winner of the night, Taylor Swift for best female video, was victim to this when she was rudely and quickly interrupted by Kanye West, who cut off her acceptance speech. He stole the microphone to announce that fellow nominee Beyoncé had "one of the greatest videos of all time," in "Single Ladies."

"I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I'd just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage," Swift recalled after the show. "And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."

For her part, Beyoncé appeared shocked by the outburst and the crowd booed the rapper. Off-camera, when West returned to his seat, audience members gave a still-stunned Swift (who was ushered off the stage before finishing her speech) a standing ovation.

After the incident, West, who was photographed drinking what looked like liquor on the red carpet, was not in his seat at Radio City Music Hall. A security guard said the rapper left the venue and would not be allowed to come back inside.

"I don't want to start anything," Swift said after the show when asked about hard feelings. "I had a great day tonight. I've been sent so many text messages and everyone's been really nice. I've had a really, really fun night."

Stars watching the show and tweeting immediately posted their thoughts on the incident. "Kanye needs to learn how to wait his turn," Zac Hanson wrote. "I am sure he will get plenty of mic time to say something stupid later in the show."

Country singer John Rich went even further with his tweet: “KanyeWest is a lowlife. He needs to have his @@@ kicked in the middle of the stage right now! What a piece of @@@@!!! Go TAYLOR SWIFT.”

Pink, who was also nominated for best female video, tweeted: “Kanye west is the biggest piece of s– on earth. Quote me.”

And Katy Perry followed suit: “F– U KANYE. IT'S LIKE U STEPPED 0N A KITTEN.”

Later, when Diddy and Jamie-Lynn Sigler took the stage to announce the best male video winner (rapper TI took it), they mentioned each of the nominees, including West, who was loudly booed by the crowd.

The show, however, got off to a more respectful start, with a heartfelt tribute to Michael Jackson in which Madonna called him, "so unique, so original, so rare. He was a king." And, she added, he's got a loyal following of royal subjects.

Rihanna, Kanye West and Jay-Z to OpenNew Jay Leno Show

R&B stars Rihanna, Kanye West and Jay-Z will perform on the premiere of Jay Leno's comedy and chat show in September, in a apparent bid to grab hip, young viewers to NBC's new primetime experiment.

NBC said on Thursday that the trio would perform "Run This Town" from Jay-Z's new album, "The Blueprint 3," when "The Jay Leno Show" makes its debut on September 14th at 10pm.

It will be one of the first, major public performances for Rihanna, 21, since she was assaulted in February by her then boyfriend, singer Chris Brown.

Rihanna, rapper West and Jay-Z are among the most popular R&B artists in the United States.

NBC's decision to move the popular late night talk show host to the primetime slot five days a week is being closely watched by the TV industry as it seeks to trim costs and retain audiences.

Leno told reporters this week that his show would have more comedy and less chat. New features include a "green car" challenge in which celebrities will be invited to race a high-tech electric car round a track built outside Leno's new studio.

Brown has pleaded guilty to punching Rihanna in Los Angeles in February and is expected to be sentenced later this month to five years probation and 180 days of community service.
