US Airways Plane Crashes in the Hudson River

As the saying goes..."A picture can say a thousand words."

Well, these two pictures a speaking quite "loudly".

These pictures, courtesy of the NY Times, are from the US Airways flight #1549 which crashed on Thursday afternoon into New York's Hudson River after both engines were affected by their encounter with a flock of geese. Gratefully all 155 on board survived, except for some minor injuries.

A special KUDOS goes to the pilot, Capt. Chesley B. Sullenberger III, who safely landed the airplane in the river and avoided any fatal catastrophes.

In addition, special commendations also go to the several captains of the tugboats, ferries and other water crafts that arrived at the crash site to assist with rescuing the passengers and crew.
