Christina Aguilera Arrested & Jailed for Her Safety

Christina Aguilera was arrested for public intoxication early Tuesday morning and jailed for her own safety until she recovered. Her boyfriend was also arrested for investigation of DUI.

The singer was released from custody at the West Hollywood sheriff's station at about 7:30 am, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

"We have no desire to prosecute, none whatsoever. It just for a public safety issue," says Whitmore. "When she was able to navigate and to think on her own and make her own way, she was released."

Aguilera, 30, was a passenger in a car driven by boyfriend Matthew Rutler that was pulled over at 2:45 am when deputies noticed the vehicle driving erratically. Both were booked, Aguilera for public intoxication, Rutler for DUI.

"She was not capable to taking care of herself. She was incapacitated," says Whitmore. "She was cooperative. She was not belligerent in any way whatsoever. She was just intoxicated."

By law, a person can be held in custody if they cannot take care of themselves, he says.

"As she got better, she just said, 'I would like to leave,'" says Whitmore, and deputies granted her request.

Aguilera's reps were not immediately available for comment.

Big Brother 10's Steven Daigle Arrested in Fight

Steven Daigle, of Big Brother 10 and most recently gay porn fame, has been arrested for allegedly beating ex-boyfriend and fellow porn star Trent Locke.

According to TMZ, the US Big Brother 10 contestant fought Locke in West Hollywood on Monday after an argument erupted between the two.

Daigle was later arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanour battery while Locke was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

"[I am] deeply embarrassed," Locke said from his hotel room. "[I] would never take a swing at [Steven]. And I did not."

Daigle is said to still be behind bars and is being held on $20,000 bail. He could face up to one year in prison if convicted.

Harry Hamlin's Brothel Arrest Led to Criminal Rehab 40 Years Later

Actor Harry Hamlin had to sign up for criminal rehabilitation before Canadian officials would let him cross the border to shoot a recent movie after they discovered he had once been arrested for running an illegal brothel.

The Clash of The Titans star had forgotten about the scandal, which took place when he was a student at the University of California in Berkeley 40 years ago - but it almost cost him a job.

Hamlin, who owns property in Canada, admits the incident inspired him to write his new autobiography, Full Frontal Nudity. His arrest mug shot graces the back cover.

He says, "I was going up to Canada to do a job... and I get to the border and they did a 40-year background check on me. Forty years ago I was arrested.

"All they had in the records that I was arrested on a felony charge; it didn't end up being a felony charge.

"They said, 'You're a felon... We have to assume you're a felon, so you have to go through criminal rehab.' I went through a year of criminal rehabilitation, so that I could go to Canada, where I have a home."

Lawyer: Don't Judge Paris Hilton on Drug Bust Yet

Paris Hilton was arrested Friday night in Las Vegas for possession of a controlled substance after cocaine was found in her purse, a police spokesman says.

The coke arrest was her latest drug-related brush with the law this summer, and by all accounts the most serious. But don't jump to any conclusions, her lawyer says.

"This matter will be dealt with in the courts, not in the media, and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law," says attorney David Chesnoff in a statement.

Beyond that, Hilton's camp isn't issuing any statements or explanations. The 29-year-old heiress was released without bail Saturday morning after she was arrested in Las Vegas for investigation of cocaine possession. The drug was allegedly found in her purse after a traffic stop.
For her mugshot, she struck a stylish pose, smiling coyly for the police camera, her hair cascading over her bare shoulders.

Hilton, who was jailed three years ago in an alcohol-related driving case, is no longer on probation in that case and so won't face additional penalty due to the cocaine arrest.

In July, she was questioned by South African police at the World Cup for allegedly smoking marijuana and later held by police in Corsica after being allegedly caught with a small amount of pot in her purse. In both incidents, she was released without being charged.

Singer George Michael Faces Drug Charge

Singer George Michael has been charged with possession of cannabis and driving while unfit through drink or drugs following an incident last month, Scotland Yard has said.

Michael was arrested on July 4th in Hampstead, north London, after he allegedly crashed his car into a branch of photographic shop Snappy Snaps.

The Wham! star, from nearby Highgate, was on police bail following the crash.

Police said Michael, 47, is due to appear before magistrates on August 24th.

The pop star, whose real name is Georgios Panayiotou, was charged when he reported to a police station in Camden, north London, on Thursday.

George Michael Arrested After Crashing Car

George Michael was arrested early on Sunday morning after crashing his car into a shop in Hampstead, north London.

The 47-year-old singer was thought to be returning from London Pride when he crashed his Range Rover into a branch of Snappy Snaps near his home.

He was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive, taken to a nearby police station and released on bail to return next month.

Police confirmed they were called to the shop at 3.45am on Sunday following reports of a collision.

Michael is said to have climbed out of his car after the crash and waited for police to arrive.

A police spokesperson said: "A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive."

He was reportedly not breathalysed because he said he had not been drinking. According to the Daily Mirror, he was tested for drugs but none were recovered.

Michael's representatives have refused to comment.

Images in the UK Sun newspaper show the branch of Snappy Snaps with a buckled doorframe and shattered windows.

The star only completed a two-year driving ban last year after after he was convicted of driving while unfit as a result of drug use.

Last year, he was released without charge after a late-night collision with a lorry in Berkshire.

He was outed in 1998 when he was arrested for cottaging in Los Angeles and was arrested again in 2008 for being in possession of crack cocaine in public toilets on Hampstead Heath.

Adrian Pasdar Escapes Jail Over DUI

Heroes star Adrian Pasdar has escaped jail after pleading no contest to a misdemeanour charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following his arrest in January.

The husband of Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines was detained by cops after he was allegedly clocked driving over 90 miles-an-hour on a freeway in Los Angeles.

The actor, 44, was officially charged with DUI in February and he entered a not guilty plea during a court appearance later that month.

Pasdar pleaded no contest to one misdemeanour charge of DUI earlier this week. He was sentenced to 36 months probation and was ordered to pay $395 in fines. The star was also told to complete an alcohol education program, as well as 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, reports TMZ.com.

One other charge for refusing to submit a blood test was reportedly dropped.

Chace Crawford Arrested

Chace Crawford was arrested early Friday morning for possession of marijuana, according to a police report.

The 24-year-old Gossip Girl star was arrested in a pub parking lot in Plano, Texas, after police discovered one marijuana joint in the car he was in. The charge is a misdemeanor, for having two ounces or less of marijuana.

On Friday, Crawford was spotted having lunch with two people at Naan Sushi, a restaurant located in the same shopping center where he was arrested, according to a source.

"He was cool," the source told People Magazine. "He was on the phone the whole time. [The group] seemed normal. None of them seemed like they were mad or anything.”

Big Brother Star Arrested for Witness Intimidation

A former reality TV star charged with violently attacking his pregnant girlfriend earlier this month has been arrested for witness intimidation.

Matt McDonald, who appeared on season nine of hit show Big Brother, was apprehended by Boston, Massachusetts police on April 18th after an unnamed woman filed a domestic violence complaint against him.

According to police reports, obtained by www.TMZ.com, McDonald and his family members waged a two-day campaign of intimidation against the accuser and her family, and demanded the woman, who is currently nine weeks pregnant, drop the charges.

McDonald was scheduled to face charges of assault and battery and assault and battery on a pregnant woman next month.

He was arrested for witness intimidation on April 20th, after police determined he may pose a serious threat to his accuser.

Cameron Douglas Sentenced to Five Years on Drug Charges

In what a judge called Cameron Douglas's "last chance to make it," the son of actor Michael Douglas was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison for conspiring to sell crystal meth and for heroin possession.

Cameron was somber as U.S. District Judge Richard Berman announced the sentence. The charges resulted from Cameron's arrest last summer in a federal drug sting.

Douglas, a 31-year-old former deejay, told the judge that he was sober for the first time in his adult life, and that he was grateful for the chance to get clean.

"I’d like to apologize to my family and loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making," Cameron said, adding, "I believe, your honor, things will be different this time."

In making his decision, Berman said he took into consideration more than two dozen letters written on Cameron's behalf, including a five-page handwritten letter from his father and an emotional letter from Cameron's mother, Diandra, both of whom admitted to the judge that they had failed Cameron.

In his letter to the judge Michael Douglas wrote, "For the past eight months, I have cherished my two hr. a week in person conversation with Cameron at the MCC [Metropolitan Correctional Center]. He's sober!" Douglas wrote.

"I get to witness the wonderful young man he can be. He maintains his spirit, blames no one but himself, and recognizes his criminal activity began with his heroin use."

Douglas could have faced a minimum of 10 years in prison under sentencing guidelines, but Berman noted that other court decisions have found that those guidelines are no longer mandatory. Instead he opted to give Douglas a sentence of five years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

“I think this case (and) sentence may well be his last chance to make it," the judge said.

In arguing for a lighter sentence, Douglas's attorney Nicholas De Feis said, “He’s not going to let his family down, and they’re not going to let him down."

'Heroes' Star Adrian Pasdar Charged With DUI

'Heroes' actor Adrian Pasdar has officially been charged with DUI following his arrest last month in L.A., TMZ reports.

The actor was pulled over on January 27 after cops clocked him going 90 MPH on the 405 Freeway. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI after he refused to take a breathalyzer and held him on $15,000 bail.

Pasdar is due back in court on February 24 and faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Pasdar plays Senator Nathan Petrelli on 'Heroes' and has been married to Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines for nine years.

Back in January, police say Pasdar was swerving all over the freeway and "failing to maintain his lane." When police finally pulled him over, sources told TMZ that the cops detected the odor of alcohol and gave the 44-year-old actor a field sobriety test.

Redmond O'Neal Back in Jail for Drug Allegations

Redmond O'Neal continues to battle his addictions.

The troubled son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal was taken into police custody at a Dec. 29 hearing for an alleged drug-related probation violation, his lawyer confirmed Tuesday. O'Neal had been undergoing in-patient rehab since September.

At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Michael Tynan ordered Redmond, 24, into a 30-day jail rehab facility pending a Feb. 2 progress report.

"It seems to me you haven't got a clue as to what recovery means," Judge Tynan lectured Redmond, who was nervously shaking his leg while wearing a blue L.A. County jail jumpsuit. "It's a lifetime commitment. It's grinding, hard, painful work."

The younger O'Neal had written a letter to the court explaining his relapse. In it, he wrote about his family's struggles and that he had "let them down." Fawcett died last June, while her son was behind bars.

According to L.A. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore, in late December O'Neal "was out of his rehab facility on a 24-hour pass. When he came back, he told his counselors he had used drugs. He subsequently tested positive for drugs."

Despite his latest arrest, Redmond's lawyer Richard Pintal said he was "confident" he could keep his client out of prison. The younger O'Neal has been arrested multiple times for drug charges over the years.

Big Brother Winner in Big Trouble

At least last season's Big Brother winner, Adam Jasinski, is used to being locked in a big house and under constant surveillance. Because it looks like there's a good chance he'll be spending a lot of time in a similar place in the future.

Jasinski, 31, was arrested Saturday for using his $500,000 in prize winnings to buy thousands of pills of the controlled painkiller Oxycodone, which he then attempted to resell, authorities said.

The Delray Beach, Florida, resident reportedly confessed after trying to sell 2,000 of the pills to an undercover cop in Massachusetts.

Survivor's Richard Hatch Arrested...Again!

Richard Hatch really should not have gone around naked on Survivor all those years ago but now it seems that the guy can’t catch a break!

After giving an interview to Today’s Matt Lauer two weeks ago, the former Survivor winner was arrested and taken to a Rhode Island jail.

His sister, Kristin Hatch, told Lauer this morning that a sheriff’s deputy and another official arrived at her house within hours of Hatch’s interview airing Tuesday to take him into custody.

Kristin Hatch said that her brother told the deputy, “Do what you need to do, just tell me why.”

During nearly four years in prison for tax evasion, Hatch had been denied permission to give interviews. He told Lauer that his Today interview, along with two other interviews he did, were approved by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. His attorney Cynthia Ribas said she has been unable to find out why her client was taken back into custody.

“I have spoken to Richard, and I’m so sorry to say I don’t know what the grounds are for why they have him back in jail,” Ribas said.

Hatch, who is openly gay, was convicted in 2006 of failing to pay taxes on his $1 million prize for the first season of the CBS reality show. He was given extra prison time for lying on the stand.

He had said in an interview broadcast Tuesday that he believes he was sent to prison because he’s gay: “I know without question that there are personal issues involved for the prosecutor. I don’t know why. The prosecutorial misconduct has been egregious.”

When asked whether he believes that if he was heterosexual, he would not have gone to prison, Hatch replied, “I do believe that.”

Former U.S. Attorney Robert Clark Corrente – whose office oversaw the case – told WPRO-AM that Hatch is “delusional.”

Survivor's Richard Hatch Gets Early Prison Release

Reality TV star Richard Hatch has been released from a federal prison after failing to pay taxes on his winnings from hit show Survivor.

Hatch, 47, was crowned the winner of Survivor: Borneo in 2000, but he was indicted and sentenced to four years behind bars in 2005 on charges of tax evasion on the $1 million plus he'd earned from the show, as well as TV appearances and property taxes.

Prison officials have confirmed he was released from a facility in Morgantown, West Virginia on May 11th for good behaviour, and will spend the next six months in a halfway house in the area before going into supervised release. Hatch was originally due to be released in October.

Kiefer Sutherland Arrested & Charged with Assault

Actor Kiefer Sutherland turned himself into police on Thursday and was arrested and charged with assault for headbutting another man at a swank party in New York City.

The star of the hit television show "24" was questioned by police at a station in the Manhattan neighborhood of Soho and faces a minor assault charge, according to a police spokeswoman.

Sutherland is accused of assaulting fashion designer Jack McCollough at a party Monday night after an annual costume gala held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, according to police and several media outlets who identified McCollough.

Police said the assault took place at 2 a.m. at an exclusive bar below The Mercer Hotel, when McCollough stepped in between Sutherland and another woman, identified by media outlets as actress Brooke Shields.

Sutherland became irate when the designer bumped into Shields and got into an argument before headbutting him in the face, according to local media reports.

McCollough, co-founder of women's wear fashion label Proenza Schouler, reported the incident to police the next day and has been photographed with a cut on his nose.

Sutherland was not jailed and left the police station without commenting to reporters. He may appear in court within the next few weeks.

A representative for the actor did not return a call for comment.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office had no comment.

A criminal charge, even a minor one, could have dire consequences for the 42-year-old Canadian-born actor, who plays tough-minded special agent Jack Bauer on the TV thriller "24" and is the son of actor Donald Sutherland.

He served 48 days in jail after being arrested in 2007 for drunken driving in Los Angeles and is serving five years probation in connection with the incident. At the time of that arrest, Sutherland was on probation for a prior drunk driving violation.

Los Angeles officials have said they will decide if Sutherland violated his probation due to his arrest in New York.

Alex DeSilva Arrested For Sexual Assault

So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Alex DeSilva has been arrested for multiple sexual assaults, reports BNO News.

The 41-year-old was arrested in connection for four sexual assaults that occurred between May 2003 and March 28, 2009.

The Los Angeles Police Department said, “The four victims in this case were all students of DeSilva at the time of the assaults. The victims alleged that he lured them to his homes in North Hollywood and Van Nuys. He then used a ruse to get them into his bedroom where he raped them.”

DeSilva’s bail has been set at $3.8 million.

George Michael...Arrested, Again!

George Michael Arrested For Drug Possession In Public Bathroom. Singer will not face charges over possession of crack cocaine and marijuana.

British singer George Michael was arrested on drug-possession charges Friday in a public bathroom near his home in North London, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper reported that police officers — responding to a tip from a lavatory attendant — caught Michael, 45, using a "small amount" of crack cocaine and marijuana in a public restroom. He was taken to a North London police station where he received a cautionary warning and was released after he accepted responsibility for carrying the drugs.

"The caution was [issued] for the possession of Class A and Class C drugs, cocaine and cannabis," a spokesperson for Scotland Yard told the Telegraph. "He was released and no further action will be taken."

The arrest was just the latest in a string of drug (and public restroom)-related incidents involving the singer. In 1998, he was famously arrested outside the men's room at the Will Rogers Memorial Park in Beverly Hills, California, and charged with "engaging in a lewd act." He pleaded no contest to the charge, and performed 80 hours of community service. In February 2006, he was arrested in London and charged with possession of Class C drugs, after police found him slumped over in a car. In May of that same year, he was again found passed out in a vehicle, and when he was awoken by a member of the public, he drove off, hitting a traffic divider. In October of 2006, he was found unconscious in his Mercedes-Benz, taken to the hospital and then charged with possession of marijuana. The following May, he pled guilty to driving while unfit through drugs, and was banned from driving for two years.

Michael admitted last year that he was addicted to prescription drugs, blaming his behavior on a "self-destructive" impulse brought on by the death of his mother a decade ago.

Attempts to reach Michael's label, Epic, for comment were unsuccessful at press time.
