No "Dallas" for Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Love Hewitt & Josh Holloway

Representatives for Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Josh Holloway have shot down speculation the stars will lead the small screen remake of beloved soap Dallas.

Pilot episodes of the updated Dallas are set to be aired on the TNT network and the secrecy surrounding the plot and cast have prompted gossips to start guessing at who may be the new J.R., Sue Ellen, Bobby and Pam Ewing.

Former 24 action man Sutherland, Ghost Whisperer beauty Love Hewitt and Lost hunk Holloway have all been linked to the show in recent weeks - but they won't be part of the remake, their individual reps have confirmed to GossipCop.com.

But Holloway is in talks for another TV remake - the Lost star is the favourite to lead the cast of The Rockford Files back to the small screen.

FOX Cancels Kiefer Sutherland's 24!

After eight seasons, Fox has decided to cancel 24!

Series star Kiefer Sutherland reflected on the show’s run: “This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible. While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted 24 to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon. This feels like the culmination of all our efforts from the writers to the actors to our fantastic crew and everyone at Fox. Looking ahead to the future, [executive producer and showrunner] Howard Gordon and I are excited about the opportunity to create the feature film version of 24. But when all is said and done, it is the loyal worldwide fan base that made it possible for me to have the experience of playing the role of Jack Bauer, and for that I am eternally grateful.”

Gordon told Variety, “Kiefer and me and the writers had (a decision to make). What’s the creative? What do we do? Is there any more story left to be told in this 24-hour format? We turned over every stone, and really determined that the story has come to an end in this 24-hour format.”

24 regular Mary Lynn Rajskub confirmed the news, tweeting, “Just found out we got the word officially. This is 24’s last season.”

The final two-hour episode will air May 24.

Kiefer Sutherland Arrested & Charged with Assault

Actor Kiefer Sutherland turned himself into police on Thursday and was arrested and charged with assault for headbutting another man at a swank party in New York City.

The star of the hit television show "24" was questioned by police at a station in the Manhattan neighborhood of Soho and faces a minor assault charge, according to a police spokeswoman.

Sutherland is accused of assaulting fashion designer Jack McCollough at a party Monday night after an annual costume gala held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, according to police and several media outlets who identified McCollough.

Police said the assault took place at 2 a.m. at an exclusive bar below The Mercer Hotel, when McCollough stepped in between Sutherland and another woman, identified by media outlets as actress Brooke Shields.

Sutherland became irate when the designer bumped into Shields and got into an argument before headbutting him in the face, according to local media reports.

McCollough, co-founder of women's wear fashion label Proenza Schouler, reported the incident to police the next day and has been photographed with a cut on his nose.

Sutherland was not jailed and left the police station without commenting to reporters. He may appear in court within the next few weeks.

A representative for the actor did not return a call for comment.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office had no comment.

A criminal charge, even a minor one, could have dire consequences for the 42-year-old Canadian-born actor, who plays tough-minded special agent Jack Bauer on the TV thriller "24" and is the son of actor Donald Sutherland.

He served 48 days in jail after being arrested in 2007 for drunken driving in Los Angeles and is serving five years probation in connection with the incident. At the time of that arrest, Sutherland was on probation for a prior drunk driving violation.

Los Angeles officials have said they will decide if Sutherland violated his probation due to his arrest in New York.
