Cher's Saying Good-Bye to Vegas!

Remember how Cher’s farewell tour went on and on and on?

Sadly, her Las Vegas run will not last as long. The great star has announced that she will end her three-year run at Caesars Palace on February 5, 2011.

Cher will have performed approximately 200 shows during the course of her three years at The Colosseum at Ceasars Palace. Her schedule includes concerts from September 25th through the end of October, followed by a two-month break before the final round of shows get underway. The legendary performer will then perform 16 shows from January 11th through February 5th.

Cher debuted at The Colosseum in May 2008, after Celine Dion fulfilled her contract at the venue. Dion is set to return there on March 15th, with more than 50 shows booked through August.

Tickets will be on sale on September 25th beginning at 1:00 pm (ET). Prices are $95, $140, $175, and $250.

Lawyer: Don't Judge Paris Hilton on Drug Bust Yet

Paris Hilton was arrested Friday night in Las Vegas for possession of a controlled substance after cocaine was found in her purse, a police spokesman says.

The coke arrest was her latest drug-related brush with the law this summer, and by all accounts the most serious. But don't jump to any conclusions, her lawyer says.

"This matter will be dealt with in the courts, not in the media, and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law," says attorney David Chesnoff in a statement.

Beyond that, Hilton's camp isn't issuing any statements or explanations. The 29-year-old heiress was released without bail Saturday morning after she was arrested in Las Vegas for investigation of cocaine possession. The drug was allegedly found in her purse after a traffic stop.
For her mugshot, she struck a stylish pose, smiling coyly for the police camera, her hair cascading over her bare shoulders.

Hilton, who was jailed three years ago in an alcohol-related driving case, is no longer on probation in that case and so won't face additional penalty due to the cocaine arrest.

In July, she was questioned by South African police at the World Cup for allegedly smoking marijuana and later held by police in Corsica after being allegedly caught with a small amount of pot in her purse. In both incidents, she was released without being charged.

Marie Osmond Makes Emotional Return to Stage

With tears in her eyes and her voice shaking at times, Marie Osmond donned her bravest face Tuesday night as she took to the stage for the first time since the death of her son for a show that she dedicated to him.

"The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing," she told the audience at the Flamingo Las Vegas, performing one day after the funeral. "That's what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him."

The crowd in the sold-out showroom applauded her throughout the 90-minute show, giving her a standing ovation when brother Donny said, "I think we need to give a big round of applause for my sister for even coming on stage."

Though saying the show would be a little different than others, Osmond fought through her emotions and remained largely on schedule. Taking a moment to introduce an opera song, she spoke of her Mormon faith helping her through the past week before dedicating the song to her son Michael Bryan, 18, whom she called "my angel." Michael took his own life on February 26th.

While going back to change into her outfit for the song she told herself to "pull it together."

With Marie off stage, Donny marveled at her ability to perform Tuesday, calling her a "strong woman" and saying, "I hope you all appreciate what she's going through tonight."

But despite their grief, the duo did have fun on stage, performing in a dance-off, with Marie joking about her brother's dancing skills. Donny was very quick to point out that he won Dancing With the Stars. Marie, in turn, challenged her brother to dance in heels as she had done on the show.

As the Vegas performance neared an end, Marie continued to smile but appeared overcome with emotion as she wiped away tears and struggled to finish the evening's final song, "It Takes Two".

After the music stopped and crowd came to it's feet, Donny simply walked to his sister and hugged her.

Donny & Marie Osmond Returning to Las Vegas

Donny and Marie Osmond have added several dates to their Las Vegas show to make up for canceled performances due to the death of Marie’s 18-year-old son.

The duo have added five shows between April 13th and 17th at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino.

"These were previously unscheduled show dates, added to accommodate guests who had tickets to recently canceled shows due to the personal tragedy in the Osmond family," according to a press release.

Donny and Marie are set to return to the stage on Tuesday, March 9th, following funeral services for her son, Michael Bryan.

"I think performing will help the healing process for her," the show's producer, Chip Lightman, recently stated.

Celine Dion Confirms Her Return to Vegas Stage

She's baa-aack.

Céline Dion will return to Las Vegas for a brand-new show next year, she recently told People magazine.

"It's happening!" Dion says of the upcoming three-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where she ended a five-year run of sold-out shows in 2007. "Great songs, great lyrics. I think it's going to be very touching."

Dion and husband/manager René Angélil are hoping there will be someone special in the audience when the show kicks off on March 15, 2011: a new baby.

The singer, who discusses her fertility struggles in this week's People magazine cover story is trying IVF for the fifth time in hopes of making her 9-year-old son René-Charles a big brother.

Backed by 31 musicians, Dion's new show will feature "all the songs from my repertoire that people want to hear," along with a selection of music from classic Hollywood films, she says. "I just love the big orchestra and the beautiful black-and-white movies and romance."

For this Vegas run, Dion – the world's top earner in concert and album sales for the past decade – has scheduled most of her 70 annual performances around her son's school calendar.

"I'll balance my showbiz life with my most important job: motherhood," she said.

Tickets for Dion's first 54 performances go on sale Friday, while her new concert documentary Celine: Through the Eyes of the World hits theaters February 17th.

Barbra Streisand Turns Down Vegas Deal

Clearly Barbra Streisand’s world isn’t driven by money. The superstar was offered a 3-year $100 million deal to headline in Las Vegas but she isn’t interested.

The deal would have been one of the biggest Vegas contracts in history. Celine Dion took Vegas by storm in 2003 and sold out her shows night after night until wrapping “A New Day” in December 2007. Since her departure from Vegas, nobody has been able to fill her shoes — not even Bette Midler, Elton John or Cher.

Streisand is planning to go on tour this summer. The hefty sum of $100 million is an insane amount of money but Barbra isn’t interested. That decision is definitely a huge loss for Sin City.

Bette Midler Ends Her Vegas Run

All good things must come to an end including Bette Midler’s years-long stint at Caesar’s Palace in The Showgirl Must Go On.

Bette’s final performance came on Sunday night and the Divine Miss M said: “What a fabulous two years this has been, and I thank AEG and Caesars Palace for the best partnership a showgirl could imagine. Who knows? These legs have had such a great run in the desert—it may be time to haul them to places with more humidity and fewer slot machines.”

Orlando Bloom's Vegas Strip Tease

Actor Orlando Bloom thrilled revellers at a restaurant in Las Vegas by reportedly stripping in the middle of the eaterie - after a fellow guest spilled a drink on his shirt.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star was dining at Lavo on Tuesday with his model girlfriend Miranda Kerr, but was left fuming when someone bumped into him and drenched his outfit, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.

The publication reports the star contacted a nearby store and had a new shirt delivered to him, undressing in front of stunned diners as he changed.

A source tells PageSix, "A drink was accidentally spilled on Bloom's shirt and he was visibly pissed. One of his friends called the flagship John Varvatos store and within 30 minutes, someone arrived with three brand-new shirts. Much to the delight of every female diner he made his choice at his table, right in the middle of the dining room packed with 200 people. He took his stained shirt off and let everyone catch a glimpse of his body before putting on a white shirt."

Cher to Celebrate 100th Vegas Show Tonight!

Thank God for Cher.

The pop star turned TV variety performer turned Oscar winning actress has always been a smash in Las Vegas throughout much of her 45 years of stardom and that is the only place you can see her perform these days.

This evening, Cher will perform her 100th show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. It’s been a terrific gig that allows her to do her elaborate shows and sing her many, many, many hits without the rigors of touring.

She talked to Entertainment Tonight’s Mark Steines in February about her Vegas show and some of her mishaps: “I’ve fallen twice on that stage!” During the If I Could Turn Back Time, dancers throw their hats and, “My right foot hit [a] cowboy hat and felt like Superman. … And then I fell on my knee and my hands — [but] I never dropped the microphone. I never missed a beat, didn’t miss a note or word, and I think [the audience was] just stunned that I fell so hardcore and then just jumped up; because I was [stunned].”

Cher is a real trouper!

Simon Cowell to Give The X Factor a Las Vegas Makeover

Simon Cowell is turning his U.K. TV talent show The X Factor into an international extravaganza - and he's picked larger-than-life Las Vegas as the contest's new home base.

The music mogul realised the potential for a global TV hit after viewers around the world began logging online to watch wannabe singers auditioning for his U.K. reality shows, including Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent.

And he believes he can persuade millions of people to tune into a worldwide version of The X Factor, which spawned singer Leona Lewis, by transferring it to Sin City to be broadcast on the web.

He's teaming up with billionaire retail boss Sir Philip Green for the new competition, which will be open to contestants across the planet.

Green explains, "The plan is to take it to Vegas. I'm not going to tell you with who, but the CEO of the venture is coming to see us next week. We'll have a permanent place, likely to be Caesar's Palace. The home of X Factor - live from Las Vegas.

"It'll all be online. You have 20, 30, 40 million people tuning in twice a week. You bring two or three hundred million viewers to a venue - off we go! It's taking The X Factor up a peg. The rest of the world is Part Two."

Cowell plans to air his global The X Factor on a pay-per-view internet station, reports Britain's The Sun.

Recently, there were talks about a US version of the show to be broadcast on FOX. At this point no further details have been provided about that venture. We will keep you posted as new information becomes available.
