Farrah Fawcett Left Over $3M to Cancer Charity

Farrah Fawcett was dedicated to her cancer charity, and, according to tax documents, she left $3.3 million to the Farrah Fawcett Foundation after her death in June 2009. The actress apparently bequeathed two separate contributions of $3,269,169 and $50,000.

According to RadarOnline.com, actor Harrison Ford was one of the first people to donate to the charity, handing over a personal cheque for $5,000.

Financial records show the foundation donated $85,000 to two charities last year, The Angeles Clinic Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The documents reveal the foundation is currently worth at least $5 million.

Following her death, it was revealed Farrah had left the bulk of her $10 million savings to troubled son Redmond O’Neal, 24, while her long-term partner Ryan O’Neal was excluded from her will completely.

In June, Farrah’s friends and family – including Ryan, Redmond, Ryan's daughter Tatum O'Neal and best friend Alana Stewart – gathered at the new offices of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, and pledged to continue the work started by the late star.

Alana said: "If I can help carry on Farrah's mission for the foundation, it's an honour for me. I feel almost like she's a guardian angel watching over me, and I feel like she's smiling down on us and very happy that she died for a cause. She felt that she could help a lot of people and she could give a lot of people inspiration, courage and hope."

Redmond O'Neal Plans to Move Forward, Clean and Sober

After being in drug treatment for over a year, Redmond O'Neal has graduated to a new phase of his life – literally.

The son of actors Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett graduated Thursday from an intensive drug-court program, and received a hug from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan.

"My plan is to move forward with my life, clean and sober," O'Neal, 25, said in a statement released through his lawyer Richard Pintal. "I am going to do so privately and with as much quiet dignity as I can."

O'Neal had been undergoing intensive court-ordered treatment following a number of drug-related arrests. He briefly spoke to a crowded courtroom filled with friends and family of graduates, saying he was nervous to speak at the podium, but said, "Thank you to everyone in this courtroom who's helped me out."

Addressing the more than a dozen graduates, Judge Tynan said, "This is the fight for the rest of your life."

O'Neal's mother passed away from cancer last June.

O'Neal Family Commemorates Anniversary of Farrah Fawcett's Passing

Ryan, Tatum and Redmond O’Neal commemorated the one year anniversary of the death of Farrah Fawcett Friday by visiting the actress’ Los Angeles gravesite.

Redmond, Fawcett’s 25-year-old son, was on a day pass from a sober living facility where he is undergoing court-ordered drug rehab.

"I saw my mom’s gravesite for the first time today," Redmond said at a private gathering Friday evening to celebrate the opening of The Farrah Fawcett Foundation, founded to promote funding for alternative methods of cancer research. "I miss my mother so much. I’m glad she’s not suffering anymore. I know she’s looking down on us."

"I wish I could talk to her," Ryan said of his companion of more than 25 years. "Having Farrah gone has been very hard. It hurts. I don’t know what Redmond is going through. He is quiet about it, but he must be suffering terribly."

"Dad is an emotional man, and Farrah’s death has taken its toll on him," says Tatum, who recently reconciled with her father after years of estrangement. "But our being able to reconnect as a family is so beautiful. Farrah would be so happy that we’re all here."

Ryan O'Neal Misses Farrah Fawcett Every Day

It's been a year since her death, but Ryan O'Neal says he can still hear Farrah Fawcett's voice.

The actor is still grieving for his late long-term partner -- who passed away on June 25, 2009 -- and admits he misses the Charlie's Angels star every day.

Ryan said in an interview with TV show Today: "I hear her voice, I see her silhouette. I miss her cooking. I haven’t had a good meal since she left me. It’s harder than I thought. I miss her. We all miss her.”

Ryan dated the Hollywood star -- who died aged 62 after losing a three-year battle with anal cancer -- on and off for over 20 years and they had a son, Redmond O'Neal, together.

The 69-year-old star insists Redmond is now finally getting his life back on track following his time in jail and rehab for drug offenses. Ryan said of his son: "I’m greatly relieved and gratified by his progress in the last year. We see him all the time, and he’s beautiful. His mother would be very proud of him."

The Paper Moon star is hoping once his son is released from the sober living environment he is currently required to stay at in Pasadena, California, the pair will be able to mourn Farrah's death together.

He said: "We haven’t done it together yet I know he grieves and I grieve, but we really haven’t put our heads together. We thought maybe we should take a trip and do it that way, but that hasn’t happened.”

Redmond O'Neal Leaves Drug Rehab for Sober Living Environment

A judge commended Redmond O'Neal on his "excellent progress" and graduated him from a drug rehab facility to a sober living environment after a Wednesday hearing in Los Angeles.

O'Neal, the 25-year-old son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, was also praised by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan for the "positive" decisions he had made in the last few months.

"It's a big, big day for Redmond," his attorney, Richard Pintal, stated. "Redmond has come so far. He's really feeling great."

O'Neal's incarceration stems from a January 2008 drug arrest and a probation violation. He is scheduled for another progress report on June 22nd.

Redmond O'Neal: Fighting to Stay Sober to Make Mom Farrah Proud

Redmond O'Neal, appearing in court Wednesday for a status hearing on his judge-ordered drug rehab, told People magazine that his late mother Farrah Fawcett is on his mind as he fights addiction.

"I'm doing great. I am focused on my recovery and plan not to let anything get in the way," O'Neal, 25, says. "I am doing my best to make my mother proud."

As part of the evaluation, L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan eliminated all home visits for O'Neal, who is in a one-year residential facility, telling him, "Right now, pal, you are still in trouble. You need to take a good look inside or nothing will ever change."

O'Neal's incarceration stems from a January 2008 drug arrest and a probation violation. He's scheduled for another progress report on April 7th.

"Redmond's status report was good," his attorney Richard Pintal said. "But the judge is keeping a careful eye on him. Redmond is still facing a tough road and today he got some tough love."

Fawcett died in June 2009 after a battle with cancer.

Redmond O'Neal Back in Jail for Drug Allegations

Redmond O'Neal continues to battle his addictions.

The troubled son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal was taken into police custody at a Dec. 29 hearing for an alleged drug-related probation violation, his lawyer confirmed Tuesday. O'Neal had been undergoing in-patient rehab since September.

At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Michael Tynan ordered Redmond, 24, into a 30-day jail rehab facility pending a Feb. 2 progress report.

"It seems to me you haven't got a clue as to what recovery means," Judge Tynan lectured Redmond, who was nervously shaking his leg while wearing a blue L.A. County jail jumpsuit. "It's a lifetime commitment. It's grinding, hard, painful work."

The younger O'Neal had written a letter to the court explaining his relapse. In it, he wrote about his family's struggles and that he had "let them down." Fawcett died last June, while her son was behind bars.

According to L.A. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore, in late December O'Neal "was out of his rehab facility on a 24-hour pass. When he came back, he told his counselors he had used drugs. He subsequently tested positive for drugs."

Despite his latest arrest, Redmond's lawyer Richard Pintal said he was "confident" he could keep his client out of prison. The younger O'Neal has been arrested multiple times for drug charges over the years.

Farrah Fawcett Leaves All Her Money to Son

Late actress Farrah Fawcett left the bulk of her multi-million dollar fortune to her troubled son Redmond O'Neal - excluding her longterm partner Ryan O'Neal from her will, according to reports.

The Charlie's Angles star lost her battle with anal cancer on last month, aged 62.

Fawcett enjoyed a 15 year relationship with actor O'Neal which ended in 1997 - they reunited shortly after her cancer diagnosis in 2006.

The blonde beauty reportedly updated her will in 2007 and the document leaves the majority of her $5.5 million estate to 24-year-old Redmond, who has long battled addiction and is currently being held behind bars on drugs charges.

According to British tabloid the Mail on Sunday, Fawcett requested Redmond's inheritance be placed in a trust fund and controlled by two executors, who will give him a monthly allowance and funds to buy his own home.

A source tells the newspaper, "Farrah appointed two trustees to make sure the money supports her son's journey into sobriety rather than giving him the means to destroy himself. Redmond's inheritance will be tightly controlled."

The star is also reported to have left a portion of her money to Texas University.

Redmond O'Neal's Final Words to Farrah: A Promise to Be Good

Redmond O'Neal's final conversation with his dying mother Farrah Fawcett allowed him to express a vow to turn around his troubled life, says his father, Ryan O'Neal.

"I held the phone to her ear, so I'm not exactly sure, but I think it was about regret," the elder O'Neal tells Meredith Vieira in a Today show interview airing Tuesday. "And the horror of, of not being able to see her again. And the promise – the promise of a good life. Of a life that she would have be proud of."

Fawcett, who died of cancer on June 25, had not seen her incarcerated son since April, when the 24-year-old was granted a court-approved personal visit to her bedside. He was also permitted to attend, in handcuffs, her June 30 funeral. Redmond is currently serving time at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, Calif., for violating probation on a previous drug conviction.

Ryan O'Neal, Fawcett's longtime companion, says he is personally answering every letter of condolence received. His other job, the 68-year-old admits, is being strong for Redmond, whom the actor calls "her legacy. And he knows that, finally. It's clear. And he has a plan – a wonderful plan in mind to restore order in his life. And he will, with my help."

Her Final Days

Describing Fawcett's passing at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica as "awful," O'Neal says her physician, Dr. Lawrence Prio, alerted him and Fawcett's close friend Alana Stewart to gather at the bedside once he "thought she would live just another couple of hours. She lived a couple of days," says O'Neal.

"I had a bed put in the room for me. And I just lay by her side. And she wouldn't – move on. She wouldn't pass. She just, she just looked at us with a slight smile. It was awful. And then, all of the sudden, the machines flat-lined. After about 16 hours she was gone."

Redmond O'Neal to Attend Farrah's Funeral

Farrah Fawcett's son Redmond O'Neal, currently serving a jail sentence for violating his probation on drug charges, will attend his mother's memorial service on Tuesday.

"That's an absolute yes," says his attorney William Slattery about plans for the 24-year-old son of Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal to go to the funeral.

O'Neal will be allowed to leave the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California, where he is enrolled in an inmate treatment program, for the invitation-only ceremony, which will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels at 4 p.m. PST in downtown Los Angeles.

Fawcett, 62, died after a long battle with cancer on Thursday.

Farrah Fawcett Said Goodbye to Son Over the Phone

Farrah Fawcett said goodbye to her jailed son Redmond during two emotional phone calls shortly before her death.

The 24 year old was missing from his mother's bedside when she lost her battle with anal cancer at Santa Monica, California's St. John's Hospital on Thursday, as he's serving a jail sentence on drugs charges.

But the late actress' doctor and friend Lawrence Piro reveals Redmond spoke to his mother over the phone on Thursday.

Piro - who was one of only four people with Fawcett when she died - says, "He wasn't able to be present in person, but he did speak to his mother by phone twice yesterday and he was able to say all the things he wanted to say. She heard him and was able to be responsive. It was a very nice moment for both of them."

Prison bosses revealed on Friday that Redmond - Fawcett's son with partner Ryan O'Neal - would be allowed out of jail to attend his mother's funeral.

Farrah Fawcett Reads Out Touching Letter To Troubled Son

Farrah Fawcett tugged at the heartstrings of America on Friday night by reading out a letter she'd written to her troubled son Redmond as part of a two-hour TV documentary chronicling her ongoing battle with cancer.

The actress has spent the past three years fighting anal cancer, and pal Alana Stewart has been capturing her visits to specialists in Germany as well as touching moments as Fawcett comes to terms with the fact she could be close to death.

The home video footage made up a large part of Farrah's Story, which aired in America on Friday.

And one emotional moment has already emerged as the tender high point of the film - as Fawcett opens up about a letter she wants Redmond to read after her death.

Fighting back tears, the ailing Charlie's Angels star reads, "I will always be there. When you fall I will be there.

"When one day, you wake up and realise that I'm gone; I will still be there. Always. Always with you, forever in you, Redmond, my boy."

Redmond entered a year-long rehabilitation program last month in a bid to have two drug possession charges against him wiped off his record. If he fails to complete the rehab stint, he faces up to four years in prison - following arrests in September and April.

Farrah's son has promised to stay clean for his mother.

On Friday, the actress' longtime companion Ryan O'Neal revealed Fawcett is sedated as she is in so much pain. He hoped to wake her so she could see the TV special on Friday night.

Farrah Fawcett as "a fighter … committed to tell her story, no matter what happens," Today show co-host Meredith Vieira turned to the cancer-stricken actress's longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, to delve into such topics as their troubled 24-year-old son Redmond, the couple's own tumultuous relationship and, of course, Fawcett's nearly three-year health battle.

"I think she may have believed that she would survive," says O'Neal, 68. "That's not how it's going. She's had a terrible time in the last year, a terrible time."

On Friday, NBC will air Farrah's Story, a two-hour documentary that Fawcett, 62, herself began filming when her initial diagnosis was revealed Sept. 22, 2006. In scenes from it shown on Wednesday's Today show, the glamorous Fawcett of golden mane and perky frame was juxtaposed with footage of her being sick to her stomach in a hospital bed.

At one point she can be heard saying, "I wish it would just be over."

"There were times that she got terribly ill and began to vomit," says O'Neal. Nevertheless, the camera kept rolling. "She didn't care," he says. "She was possessed. She's been on film all her life, since she was 19 or 20, you know. So, I guess, no big deal."

O'Neal also is forthright about his son's problems with heroin, and references a moment the boy shared with his mother by saying it was one of the few times Redmond was out of jail. "He's in jail so much," says the elder O'Neal. But he also adds a touching note about mother and son.

"When she lost her hair [to chemotherapy], he shaved his head," says O'Neal. "So, the two of them … I didn't know which was which."

Of their possibly final meeting in her bedroom, for which Redmond's jail shackles had to be unlocked, O'Neal says, "He just wanted to see her, to hold her, to apologize. He's so full of shame for his mistakes. She forgave him."

And of the famous clashes between O'Neal and Fawcett during their decades together, he now says, "Not so bad."

Redmond O'Neal Released from Jail to See Mom Farrah Fawcett

At the request of his lawyer, Redmond O'Neal was sprung from jail for three hours over the weekend to see his ailing mother Farrah Fawcett in a visit supervised by the sheriff's office.

"A sergeant and a deputy drove him to his mother's home on Saturday and he's now back in custody," L.A. County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

Whitmore says a temporary release for inmates is common when a family member is gravely ill, to attend a funeral, or similar emergencies. But a source told People that the actress's condition has not changed. Fawcett, 62, is battling cancer.

"Of course she's ill, but nothing should be read into the timing of Redmond's visit," says a source close to Fawcett. "Redmond's attorney had requested that he be allowed to visit his mom a while ago. It was not a crisis or emergency. Farrah is status quo. He had a lovely visit with his mom. Farrah was thrilled to see him. It was a wonderful visit."

The O'Neal family paid $1,285.39 for the visit for personnel and mileage. "The visit wasn't paid for with taxpayer's money," says Whitmore.

Redmond, 24, is currently being held in jail pending a court hearing on April 29. The only son of Fawcett and Oscar-nominated actor Ryan O'Neal will likely receive further drug treatment following his most recent arrest.

A lawyer for Redmond had no comment.

Redmond O'Neal's visit to his mother marks a rare positive moment in the family's troubles.

Redmond O'Neal has been given yet another chance to kick his drug habit.

Appearing in a Los Angeles court Friday, wearing a brown jail jumpsuit and shackled in chains, O'Neal, 24, the troubled son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett, cited his mother's life-or-death battle with cancer as a reason to get clean.

"I want to be there for my mother," O'Neal said in a barely audible voice, referring to Fawcett. "She weighs about 86 pounds. I'm upset with myself. My timing sucks."

Redmond was in court for sentencing for violating probation on a 2008 DUI and drug possession conviction. Superior Court Judge Scott Millington offered him another chance to enter a drug program following a hearing April 30.

"You have a serious problem," the judge told O'Neal sternly. "Do you want further treatment, or are you going to waste my time?"

O'Neal has battled drug addiction for years. Several weeks ago he was kicked out of rehab after testing positive for methamphetamine and when traces of heroin were found in his room, prosecutors said.

O'Neal also pleaded no contest Friday to a felony count of meth possession for a case involving his father.

A lawyer for Redmond had no comment.

Ryan O'Neal 'Refused To Bail Out His Son'

Ryan O'Neal's incarcerated son Redmond is facing an extended stay behind bars - after the actor reportedly refused to bail him out.

Redmond O'Neal, 24, was arrested on Sunday and hit with a felony count of drug possession.

It's the second set of drug charges Redmond is currently facing - he pleaded not guilty to drug possession last month following a separate incident.

But the elder O'Neal has reportedly had enough and decided to leave his son in jail to face the consequences of his actions.

A source tells RadarOnline.com, "Redmond won't be leaving jail anytime soon. Redmond could remain in custody until his next court date on April 24th. His dad won't be bailing him out.

"There is no chance that Redmond's friends would be bailing him out either as they don't have the financial capability to do so."

Redmond's mother, actress Farrah Fawcett, is currently hospitalised battling medical issues related to her cancer treatment.
