Titans Conquer U.S. Box Office

Action remake Clash Of The Titans has conquered the competition at the U.S. box office, debuting at number one with $61.4 million in earnings this the weekend.

The blockbuster, starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, has made a total of $64.1 million in the U.S. including preview screenings on Thursday night.

Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too? was runner-up with $30.2 million in ticket sales - marking a triumph for singer/actress Janet Jackson, who went to work on the comedy just a day after her brother, the late Michael Jackson, was laid to rest in June.

Meanwhile, animated adventure How to Train Your Dragon slipped from the top spot to three with $29.2 million, and now boasts a 10-day total of $92.3 million.

Miley Cyrus' new drama The Last Song debuted at number four with $16.2 million, while Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland slipped from two to five with nearly $8.3 million in earnings. Burton's whimsical collaboration with Johnny Depp now boasts a five-week total of nearly $309.8 million.
