Glee star Matthew Morrison — known to Gleeks everywhere as Will Schuester, the adorable and optimistic leader of McKinley High’s show choir — has officially graduated to the big-time with a record deal.
Morrison, who signed to Mercury Records, will soon head into the recording studio to begin production of his debut album, which is scheduled for release in the fall — just in time for season 2 of FOX’s hit musical comedy.
Morrison’s rising star is burning even brighter since his nomination for a Golden Globe for his role as Will.
Before Glee, Morrison, 31, showed off his acting and singing chops in the Broadway musicals Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza, for which he was nominated for a Tony, and the revival of South Pacific at the Lincoln Center Theater in New York.
