Sick Hugh Jackman Missed Tony Blair Meeting

Hugh Jackman once missed the chance to meet former British prime minister Tony Blair, because he was too busy vomiting.

The X-Men actor starred in the 1998 London production of musical Oklahoma! and during his run at the National Theatre, the leading politician made a special trip to see the show.

But the Australian actor had been struck down with a migraine and spent most of the performance rushing off stage to be sick.

And the illness meant the star was confined to the bathroom when he was supposed to be meeting the ex-Labor party chief after the show.

He tells Britain's FHM magazine, "I remember having a migraine when Tony Blair came to see Oklahoma!. I was going into the wings and throwing up whenever I was off stage, and afterwards Tony Blair came backstage to meet the cast, and of course I was throwing up."

Are Adam Lambert and Kris Allen in Offstage Feud?

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, who are roommates at the American Idol mansion, are apparently "locked in a bitter feud" if you believe the National Enquirer.

An "insider" tells the tabloid in its May 4 issue: "Although they are friendly on the surface, there's a major culture clash between Adam and Kris. Adam is gay and avery flamboyant guy from L.A., while Kris is a conservative married man from a small Arkansas town. He's usually very easygoing and tolerant, but it's as if he and Adam are from different planets. And since Adam feels he has become the front-runner in the competition their relationship has become very strainged. Kris believes Adam has become arrogant and incredibly fulll of himself....Adam and Kris now go for long periods of time without speaking to one another. You can cut the tension with the knife."

According to the tab, "Kris often complains that Adam leaves clothes, nail polish, and other accessories all over the room they share...and Adam refuses to change his messy ways...The tight personal space is cramping both their styles and they're taking it out on each other."

Hugh Jackman is a Disneyland Dude

Wolverine Hugh Jackman met Mickey Mouse outside Sleeping Beauty Castle with wife Deborra-Lee, 53, son Oscar, 8, and daughter Ava, 3, on Thursday (April 23) at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

The 40-year-old Aussie actor just returned to the U.S. after a worldwide tour to promote his movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine coming out May 1.

Earlier today, Hugh announced on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show that after a contest he held on his own Twitter, he has split a $100,000 donation between Charity: Water and Operation of Hope.

Ugly Betty Love Triangle in the Works

Ugly Betty is back – and so is her first love!

The TV show starring America Ferrera as a Queens girl navigating the cutthroat world at Mode magazine returns to Thursday nights beginning April 30th. And there's more good news for fans of the ABC comedy: the show has been picked up for a fourth season.

So what's in store for Betty? How about a hot love triangle! When we last left our heroine, she was getting oh-so-close to Matt, a wealthy up-and-coming journalist. But we hear that Henry Grubstack, Betty's favorite accountant, is returning to the show for the season finale.

And Silvio Horta, the show's creator, hints that his visit isn't about the magazine's finances. "As Henry and Betty reconnect, it could potentially threaten her relationship with Matt," says Horta.
It looks like Henry (played by Christopher Gorham) might be sticking around. "Chris has always been and always will be part of the Ugly Betty family," says Horta.

Gorham is definitely part of the Ugly Betty baby boom. He and wife Anel welcomed their third child – a girl named Alondra – in January. Eric Mabius had a son in December and Rebecca Romijn's twin girls arrived late last year. Next up? Ana Ortiz, who plays Betty’s sister, Hilda, is expecting a baby girl in June.

Simon Cowell: Susan Boyle Could Lose Britain's Got Talent

Susan Boyle has become an overnight singing sensation, but that doesn't mean the golden-voiced star will win Britain's Got Talent, according to show judge Simon Cowell.

"I keep saying to everybody, she's got to win the next stage. It's [up to] her," he said Friday in Los Angeles while promoting America's Got Talent. "She has four weeks to prepare for the biggest time of her life. She's got to sing better than she's ever sung before. But it could all go horribly wrong now because there are so many distractions."

Still, Cowell says that discovering a singular talent like Boyle is exactly the reason behind the show. "This is why we came up with this show in the first place," said Cowell, noting that America's Got Talent, like it's British counterpart, has no rules about who can audition. Anyone can perform any talent at "whatever age you are – glamorous or un ... We're all guilty on the panel of judging [Boyle] before she sang. We were completely and utterly wrong. It's terribly embarrassing."

Piers Morgan, who is also a judge on Britain's Got Talent, praised Boyle as well. "Susan Boyle is very good for us," he said. "She's laid down the challenge [as] a talent that comes out of nowhere that can really startle and amaze."

Whether Boyle wins or loses the talent show, she has clearly won many fans. "For someone like Susan, it's once in a lifetime – the world falls in love with somebody," said show judge Sharon Osbourne. "It's unanimous. The world is in love with her."

The Britain's Got Talent finale is scheduled to air May 24 in the U.K.

Golden Girls Star Beatrice Arthur Dies

Beatrice Arthur, the larger-than-life actress who scored on Broadway as the original matchmaker in Fiddler on the Roof and the hard-drinking actress in Mame before she went on to star in the groundbreaking '70s TV series Maude and, in the '80s, the beloved sitcom The Golden Girls, died early Saturday morning. She was 86.

Dan Watt, a spokesman for Arthur's family, told the Associated Press that the star had been suffering with cancer, though he did not specify what kind. She died peacefully at her Los Angeles home with her family by her side, said Watt, who remembered Arthur as "a brilliant and witty woman."

Maude, which debuted on CBS in 1972 (and ran until 1978) was a spin-off of the hit All in the Family. As the liberal cousin of archconservative Archie Bunker's wife Edith, the much-married Maude wasn't afraid to broach such controversial (especially for TV at the time) topics as abortion and civil rights.

Golden Girls, a popular NBC Saturday-night staple from 1985 to 1992, featured Arthur as the outspoken Dorothy Zbornak, who shared a Florida home with three other retired women, including her mother, played by Estelle Getty – who died last July, at 84. The other stars were Rue McClanahan and Betty White.

New York Origins

Born Bernice Frankel in New York City but raised in Maryland, where her parents ran a women's clothing store, Arthur debuted on the Off Broadway stage in New York in the 1940s, with her Broadway musical triumphs – though her singing voice was deep and scratchy – in the mid-'60s.

Married and divorced twice, Arthur took her stage name (in part) from her first husband, the screenwriter, director and producer Robert Alan Aurthur, whose credits include the Bob Fosse film All That Jazz. With second husband, Mame director Gene Saks, she adopted two sons, Matthew, 47, and Daniel, 44. They survive her.

Of her powerful stage and TV persona, which often found her cast in the same sort of role, Arthur once said, "Look – I'm 5-feet-9, I have a deep voice and I have a way with a line. What can I do about it? I can't stay home waiting for something different. I think it's a total waste of energy worrying about typecasting."

Star Sighting: Well-Suited Ben

A suited-up Ben Affleck is in good spirits on the Boston set of his drama "The Company Men". And despite his tailored attire, the actor managed to play a little football while shooting a scene.

Pedro Almodovar on "Verge" of New Series

Oscar-winning Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar is venturing into television with a series adaptation of his first international hit, the Oscar-nominated 1988 feature "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown."

Fox TV Studios is developing the English-language hourlong project and has tapped Mimi Schmir to write the pilot script. Almodovar and Schmir are executive producing.

The movie, starring Carmen Maura and featuring Antonio Banderas, was inspired by 1950s Hollywood comedies. Featuring Almodovar's trademark rapid-fire dialogue and fast-paced action, it chronicles a two-day period in the life of a voice actress who has been abandoned by her lover and gets in a series of comic situations while frantically trying to track him down.

Almodovar will be very involved in "Women," which will be developed with an eye for the international market.

Schmir, whose series credits include "Grey's Anatomy" and "Shark," already has mined the arena of women in midlife crisis in a novel she is writing based on her "Hot Flashes" blog.

The "Women" series "will be a suburban drama about a group of women who have known each other for a long time, perhaps from college, who are in the middle of their lives and looking at the second half of their lives," Schmir said.

Like the movie, the series will feature a fair amount of humor. Schmir also plans to pay homage to the movie by keeping some elements, like the film's ongoing gag of unsuspecting visitors to the actress's apartment being knocked out by sleeping-pill-laden gazpacho she had intended for her philandering lover.

Almodovar, who won a screenwriting Oscar for "Talk to Her," will premiere his next movie, "Broken Embraces," next month at the Cannes festival.

ABC Hands Out Early Pickups for 2009/2010 Season

ABC doled out some good news to producers Thursday morning, giving early pickups to its top primetime performers.

Others weren’t so lucky — yet — although momentum is building for the returns of "Samantha Who?" and even "Scrubs," which was originally expected to close shop after the season.

There weren’t many surprises in the Alphabet’s renewals, which included key series "Desperate Housewives," "Grey’s Anatomy," "Brothers and Sisters," "Private Practice" and "Lost," which had already been given a go-ahead and will now complete its final season next year.

Biggest news was probably a firm go-ahead for another season of bubble show "Ugly Betty," but ABC execs had been hinting for months that the show wasn’t in danger.

On the unscripted side, staples "Dancing With the Stars," "The Bachelor," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "America’s Funniest Home Videos," "Wife Swap" and "Supernanny" are a lock for 2009-10.

Speculation continues to grow that the Alphabet may find a way to bring back "Scrubs" for a ninth season after all.

Although not on Thursday’s pick-up list, "Scrubs" has had enough of a creative streak this season — and ABC still lacks much in the way of half-hours — that a deal to bring the show back is now quite conceivable.

According to insiders, talks continue about ways to lower the show’s license fees and bring back most or all of the cast, including star Zach Braff (who would perhaps do at least a portion of the episodes).

The other real question mark on ABC’s sked remains "Samantha Who?"

Once a solid Monday night performer and shoo-in for renewal, "Samantha" struggled on Thursdays — so much so that the show was pulled two weeks earlier than expected, with seven episodes still in the can.

That means "Samantha" remains on the bubble, although insiders believe the show will ultimately get another season on air.

Also among half-hours, there remain fans inside ABC of "Better Off Ted," which has earned strong reviews even though its ratings haven’t reflected that.

"Surviving Suburbia" hasn’t made any friends with critics, but if producer MRC offers to bring back the show at a lower license fee, it might still find a way to return next season. Then there’s "In the Motherhood," which is now off the air — likely for good.

On the drama side, bubble shows include midseason hours "Castle," "The Unusuals" and "Cupid."

Alphabet was said to be hopeful about "Unusuals," giving it a Tuesday night showcase this week in addition to its Wednesday home. But that experiment fell short, likely hurting the show’s chances. With "Cupid" not making much noise that gives "Castle" the best shot of the three to return next season.

Back to the returning shows: Pickups make it season six for "Desperate Housewives," "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Lost." It’s the fourth season — bringing it close to off-net sale time — for "Brothers and Sisters" and "Ugly Betty." "Private Practice" is entering its third year.

Among the reality shows, "America’s Funniest Home Videos" will hit its 20th season this year; "The Bachelor" is back this fall with its 14th cycle; "Dancing With the Stars" will return with its ninth set of celebs; "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is back for a seventh season; and "Supernanny" and "Wife Swap" are both back for their sixth year.

The complete 2009/2010 fall season for all networks will be announced in mid-May.

Jennifer Lopez: Emme Has My Attitude, Max Has My Mouth

Jennifer Lopez says her 14-month-old daughter Emme has some divalike tendencies – and guess where she learned them?

"We call her Emme-tude because we're like, 'She's giving us Emme-tude right now,' " Lopez, 39, tells Rachael Ray in an interview scheduled to air on her talk show today. "She gets that from her dad. I'm kidding – she gets it from me."

As for twin son, Max, Lopez says she and husband Marc Anthony think he also favors his mother in some ways. "Me and Marc are always claiming he's got my head and he's got my mouth," she says.

"You want it all to be you," Lopez says, adding, [Emme's] got my little body." "That's the nature of who we are; we can't help it. We're both trying to steal it all."

One thing Lopez enjoys most, she says, is perceiving the unique qualities of each child. "They're very different," she says. "You can really see it, even from when they're really young."

How would she describe Max? "He's more like the visceral boy – running, knocking things down, eating," Lopez says.

And Emme?

"She takes a step and stops and picks things up and she's like 'I don't know, maybe I'll eat this.' … She’s really kind of indecisive but at the same time very precise."

Ever doting, Lopez says she made a big to-do about the kids' first birthday in February. "We did it in my backyard in L.A.," she says. "We had a BBQ/carnival type thing. Nothing like Mommy Dearest ... It was more just like we had snow cones and a little jumpy."

"They had the best time at their birthday party," she says. "I didn't think a 1-year-old could have fun at a birthday party. But they did; they loved it. I think I did a good job, and they’re going to remember."

Hugh Jackman Torn About How to Respond to Gay Rumors

Hugh Jackman insists he can't win when it comes to rumors about his sexuality, because he isn't gay, but doesn't want fans to think there's anything shameful about same sex couples.

The Australia star has been dismissing the reports for years, and simply wishes they'd go away.

He addresses the ongoing saga in the upcoming issue of Parade magazine, stating, "I’d be happy to go and deny it, because I’m not (gay). But, by denying it, I’m saying there is something shameful about it, and there isn’t anything shameful."

The married father of two adopted kids only hears the rumors about his sexuality when he's in America: "The questions about sexuality I find more here in America than anywhere else, because it’s a big hang-up and defines what people think about themselves and others. It’s not a big issue in Australia."

Lady GaGa Has a New Boyfriend!

It was only a matter of time until speculations about Lady GaGa's love life started showing up in the news. In Touch Weekly reports that the pop star is not only reveling in her two number-one singles, but in a new romance as well with a Los Angeles entrepreneur named Speedy. Surely you didn't think he'd have a regular name?

The two met while filming a music video for GaGa's song "Love Game" about a month ago. The romance progressed quickly, and since then the couple has been "inseparable." An insider says: They were just friends for a while, but recently things got serious. They have a lot in common and are totally crazy about each other. He makes her really happy, and they are having fun right now.

On April 12, GaGa and Speedy kissed on the set of another of her music videos, "Paparazzi." They were seen the next evening canoodling at Katsuya in Brentwood, where an onlooker revealed that the couple was "all over each other, cuddling in the corner."

Apparently the pop star has also asked Speedy to join her on her Fame tour until it ends in September.

Star Sighting: Father & Daughter Fun

There’s something about a good father daughter relationship that makes even our black hearts turn to cotton candy. Anytime you see Lourdes Leon (daughter of Madonna) and her father Carlos, they are always holding hands and looking completely stylish.

Lourdes is only 13 and she already has a personal style that rivals most celebrities and even most hipster/scenesters we see while out on Friday nights. Say what you will about Madonna but she definitely passed the style gene onto her daughter. We’re anxious to see her taste develop as she enters her later teens.

And don’t even get us started on Carlos. When was the last time your Dad went out in a beat up leather jacket and fedora?
