Present were: Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Brian Wilson, Kanye West, Josh Grobin, Lionel Richie, Gladys Knight, Harry Connick Jr., Enrique Iglesias, The Jonas Brothers, Adam Levine, Jamie Foxx and many more.

Dana Delaney & Julie Benz to Share a Kiss – and Maybe More – on “Desperate Housewives”

Dana Delaney’s character of Katherine Mayfar on Desperate Housewives has had some rotten luck with men including Mike Delfino (James Denton) who ditched her to get back together with his true love, Susan (Teri Hatcher).

Enter Susan’s new stripper friend Robin played by the terrific Julie Benz who was recently killed off of Dexter.

Says Benz of her role: “Everyone assumed I was going to come in and break up someone’s marriage, but there’s a whole different twist.”

According to TV Guide, that twist is this: Robin and Katherine will share an impromptu kiss that develops into something real. Delaney compares Katherine’s realization to the real-life case of actress Meredith Baxter: “For a woman in her fifties to make this announcement to her community is huge. I hope it sticks.”

Benz says she will appear in at least four episodes with an option for more and jokes: “I’m bribing the writers with cupcakes.”

Vanessa Williams 'Devastated' by Ugly Betty Axe

Vanessa Williams is angry at TV bosses for axing her hit comedy Ugly Betty, insisting the cast is "devastated" by the news.

The U.S. version of the series turned Emmy winner America Ferrera into a household name after it debuted in 2006.

But ABC executives announced last month the series' current fourth season will be its last.

And Williams is outraged programming bosses have scrapped the show just a year after uprooting the cast and crew from Los Angeles to film in New York.

She also blames them for failing to give the show a regular time slot for fans to follow.

Williams explains, "I gotta be honest, we're devastated. We're sad, we're not ready for it to end. We just moved to New York. We just got on a roll. Our season this year has been the best we've ever had. But numbers and ratings (were a concern). A lot of people couldn't even find us. We switched - we were put on Thursday then taken off then (we were on) Fridays, now we're finally on Wednesday nights. But we're sad."

The Ugly Betty season finale is set to air in April.

Elton John & David Furnish to Produce Gay Broadway Play

Gay singer Elton John and his civil partner David Furnish are reportedly planning to put on a Broadway production of a gay-themed play.

Furnish is currently producing John's musical Billy Elliot at the Imperial Theatre and the pair will join the production team of Next Fall, the New York Daily News reports.

Next Fall tells the story of a gay couple in a five-year-relationship who struggle with their religious differences. It will play at the Helen Hayes Theatre from March 11th, with previews beginning on February 16th.

Furnish and John said in a statement: “We are excited to join the team bringing Geoffrey Nauffts' extraordinary play to Broadway.

“After fulfilling experiences bringing new musicals to the stage, it was seeing this inspiring and timely new work that attracted us to take on our first play."

It is hoped that their assistance will see the play brought to a wider audience.

The news follows John's duet with gay-friendly singer Lady Gaga at Sunday night's Grammy Awards.

The pair performed on a double-ended piano while smeared with dirt and have been tipped to sing together again soon.

Colin Firth Says Gay Actors Take a Risk

Colin Firth has suggested that there are "invisible boundaries" preventing out gay actors from taking leading roles.

Firth, a straight actor who played a gay man in Tom Ford's directorial debut A Single Man, said he felt "complicit" in the problem of gay actors losing out on parts.

Speaking at the UK premiere of the film last night, he said: "There might be risks for a gay actor coming out. The politics of that are quite complex, it seems to me.

"If you're known as a straight guy, playing a gay role, you get rewarded for that. If you're a gay man and you want to play a straight role, you don't get cast – and if a gay man wants to play a gay role now, you don't get cast.

"I think it needs to be addressed and I feel complicit in the problem. I don't mean to be. I think we should all be allowed to play whoever – but I think there are still some invisible boundaries which are still uncrossable."

Firth made similar comments in December, when he said that "sexual taboos" in Hollywood were constraining gay actors.

Out gay actor Rupert Everett said in the same month that he would advise ambitious gay actors to stay in the closet.

He said: "The fact is that you could not be, and still cannot be, a 25-year-old homosexual trying to make it in the British film business or the American film business or even the Italian film business."

Firth has been tipped for an Oscar nomination for his role as gay college professor George Falconer in A Single Man. He won the best actor award for the performance at the Venice Film Festival last year.

Ford, better known as a fashion designer, has said his debut film is about "love and isolation", rather than being a "gay story".

Lost Producers Tackle Your Burning Questions!

As the brain trust behind Lost, which returned for its sixth and final season on ABC last night, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse work overtime to keep the show’s secrets secret.

Lindelof and Cuse have already promised to shed light on the Smoke Monster, the Numbers and the Man in Black this season, so Shawna Malcom from People Magazine sat down with the guys for answers to several other burning questions.

What would you say the fans are asking right now that is a complete waste of their time?
Carlton Cuse: “Are we going to answer all the tiny, little, minute questions?” The focus should be, “How are the character stories going to resolve? What is the destiny of these people that were brought to this place?”
Damon Lindelof: We’re going to answer the mysteries that have relevance to the characters that were on Oceanic 815. If it doesn’t have relevance to them, then we’re pretty much going to let it lie there and let people theorize about it. What’s relevant to the characters on Oceanic 815 and what isn’t? That’s what season six is all about.

What about something like what Claire’s psychic said in season one?
DL: The psychic said to Claire, “You have to raise that child yourself. Your child cannot be raised by another.” Now who’s been raising Aaron? Kate. Is what the psychic said relevant to this season? Absolutely, because we’re playing out who’s going to end up being Aaron’s mom: Claire or Kate? But in terms of what made the psychic psychic, we’re not interested in that.

Several actors whose characters were killed off earlier will return for the final season. Why is that important to you?
CC: That’s something that the two of us as viewers and lovers of television really like. It’s fun when you get to see some of your favorite characters come back — like George Clooney [on the end of ER]. We’ve got some fun ways in which a lot of our returning fan favorites will be interacting with our characters in this new incarnation.

Considering Harold Perrineau claimed after his season-four exit that the decision to kill off his character Michael, without reuniting him with son Walt, played into a racial stereotype, should we be surprised he’s back?
DL: He actually recanted a lot of the comments that he made.
CC: For your character to be killed off and the show to go on, it’s a very hard thing. It’s asking a lot of actors to be completely good with that. But I think we’ve moved beyond that initial disappointment to a place where everybody’s like, “I’m gonna be proud to have been a part of [Lost’s] journey, and I’d love to have my fans see me again on the show before it ends.”
DL: Time heals all wounds in a way. We’ve always loved the work that Harold has done and [his] coming back for the final season is really exciting for us.
What about the couple fans loved to hate, Nikki and Paulo? Will they be making guest appearances?
CC: [laughs] Nikki and Paulo will pop up in someone else’s incarnation of Lost downstream.
DL: Nikki and Paulo are mentioned in the final season, though. They get a shout-out.

Will Kate finally choose between Sawyer and Jack?
CC: The romantic quadrangle with Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Juliet will be resolved.
DL: Come on, we can’t give you a spoiler about the end of the entire series! First off, you might be making an improper inference by asking, “Is she gonna CHOOSE between Jack and Sawyer.” What if one of those guys doesn’t want her? Actually, neither Matthew Fox nor Josh Holloway seems to really want to wind up with Kate.
CC: [laughs] I didn’t expect both suitors to think they should go away empty-handed. We feel like we have a really good plan for what happens to Kate, Jack and Sawyer. It’s satisfying to us.
DL: The show and the character have kind of figured it out for themselves — and we’re doing a good job of listening.

Nestor Carbonell has officially been promoted to series regular. So that means we will finally learn more about the age-defying Richard Alpert?
CC: That feels to us to be on the list of fair questions to expect some answers about. He’s got eternal-youth beauty secrets that he needs to share.
DL: You will know how old he is, you will know his origin story and you will understand what his function on the island has been.
CC: As well as his height, weight and whether he’s right or left- handed.

Is there an actor who auditioned for the show whom you didn’t cast that, looking back, you wish you had?
CC: I think we feel lucky we got everybody we did. I don’t think there’s a single actor we regret not being able to get on the show. Maybe Djimon Hounsou.

Was he in the running to play Mr. Eko?
CC: Yeah. We actually like that actor a lot.
DL: But it’s not like we wish he’d played him instead of Adewale [Akinnuoye-Agbaje].
CC: Adewale did a great job in the role.

As this is the final season, is there anything you’re doing differently behind the scenes?
DL: We’ve been uncharacteristically focused this year. Largely due to the fact that [a new season of] Top Chef is not on!
CC: And it’s a little too early to get our American Idol jones going.

Zachary Quinto Gearing Up for George Gershwin

Star Trek and Heroes star Zachary Quinto is set to play famed composer and pianist George Gershwin in a biopic at DreamWorks Pictures.

The 32-year-old actor will play the pianist, whose brother Ira was responsible for more than a dozen Broadway shows. DreamWorks will reportedly be supplying accent and dialogue coaches for Quinto.

The film is one of three projects that Steven Spielberg is looking to direct, Deadline Hollywood reports. Doug Wright (Quills) penned the script for the movie which could begin filming as soon as April. An official announcement could come later this week.

Jim Carrey & Ewan McGregor Share A Smooch

Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor share a kiss in Paris, France on Monday, February 1th.

The 48-year-old actor and his 38-year-old co-star appear in the forthcoming film "I Love You Phillip Morris" as two prison inmates who fall for each other after sharing a cell together.

Jim and Ewan were named knights in the prestigious National Order of Arts and Letters by Minister of Culture Frederic Mitterand, who, according to ABC, declared, “I love you Jim Carrey! I love you Ewan McGregor!”

Check out the film’s trailer below:

Star Quotes: Michael C. Hall

“I think some of my family members of a certain generation were more skittish about me playing a gay character on ‘Six Feet Under’ than watching me play a killer.”

— Michael C. Hall, who just picked up best actor wins from the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild for his starring turn on “Dexter,” revealing to Parade magazine that his family is cool with him playing the dark serial killer on the hit Showtime series.

Nate Berkus Get's His Own Daytime Show

Like Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz before him, Nate Berkus is the latest Oprah Winfrey protege to get his own syndicated show.

The best part is that he’s the first openly gay man in the bunch!

The Nate Berkus Show will debut in first-run syndication in the fall according to an announcement made by Sheri Salata and Erik Logan, presidents of Winfrey’s Harpo Productions.

“We are pleased to partner with NBC stations to launch ‘The Nate Berkus Show,’” Logan said in a statement. “Combined with Harpo’s legacy of success in daytime, and our strong partnership with Sony, NBC’s commitment and support offers the perfect platform to launch syndication’s next breakout series.”

Nate is a designer who has been a regular on Oprah’s show for several years giving design advice to viewers. His partner was killed in Sri Lanka when the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami hit. He is currently in a relationship with shoe designer Brian Atwood.

Bette Midler Ends Her Vegas Run

All good things must come to an end including Bette Midler’s years-long stint at Caesar’s Palace in The Showgirl Must Go On.

Bette’s final performance came on Sunday night and the Divine Miss M said: “What a fabulous two years this has been, and I thank AEG and Caesars Palace for the best partnership a showgirl could imagine. Who knows? These legs have had such a great run in the desert—it may be time to haul them to places with more humidity and fewer slot machines.”

Sandra Bullock, Land Of The Lost & Transformers 2 Lead Razzies

Sandra Bullock's amazing start to 2010 has just hit a bump - she has been nominated for a Golden Raspberry dishonour for her role in the film flop All About Steve.

The actress is expected to snag her first Oscar nomination on Tuesday for The Blind Side, but the week will be a mix of success and failure.

Bullock has received three unwelcome nods for All About Steve - for Worst Actress, Worst Screen Couple (with Bradley Cooper) and Worst Picture of the Year.

Other nominees for Worst Film are G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra, Land of the Lost, Old Dogs and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Insiders tell the Los Angeles Times that the Twilight sequel came sixth on the list, and therefore just missed out on a nomination.

Land of the Lost and the Transformers sequel tied for the most nominations, with seven apiece.

Bullock's competition in the Worst Actress category are Beyonce Knowles for Obsessed, Miley Cyrus for Hannah Montana: The Movie, Megan Fox for Jennifer's Body and Transformers 2, and Sarah Jessica Parker for Did You Hear About the Morgans?

The three Jonas Brothers join Will Ferrell (Land of the Lost), Steve Martin (Pink Panther 2), Eddie Murphy (Imagine That) and John Travolta (Old Dogs) in the Worst Actor category.

The 30th Razzies will be handed out in Hollywood on the eve of the Oscars.

Paparazzi!: Jumping for Joy

Former 'N Sync bandmembers Lance Bass and Joey Fatone kick up their heels during a beach retreat at the Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa in St. Maarten on Saturday.

New "We Are The World" Has Been Recorded!

We are still the world if Quincy Jones and an all-star squad of contemporary music stars have anything to sing about it.

On Monday, Jones, Lionel Richie and Wyclef assembled what appears to be the entire VIP section from Sunday night's Grammy Awards to re-record the monster selling single, which made $63 Million in sales! Can "We Are The World – 25 For Haiti" bring home that kind of bacon in the Internet Age? In only due time, we will find out.

On Monday night, The Jonas Brothers, T-Pain, Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Kanye West, Brian Wilson and dozens of others showed up at Henson Recording Studios, the same studio where the original was recorded 25 years ago.

Last time, the cause was starvation in Africa, in particular the devastating Ethiopian famine of 1984-85. This time it's Haiti, where last month's earthquake killed nearly 200,000 and left as many as 1 million Haitians homeless.

The new line-up of stars performing this incredible hit included Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Harry Connick, Jr., Snoop Dogg, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand (rumor has it she gets a solo), Josh Groban, Usher, and Jeff Bridges.

Along with Bridges, plenty of other A-listers "lend a helping hand" and their voices which will grace the music single and video, directed by Paul Haggis ('Crash,' 'In the Valley of Elah'). The video is set to air on NBC during the Friday, February 12th Opening Ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Nicole Richie tweeted her excitement. "I was 4 years old in a studio watching my dad record We Are The World, & today I get to do it again," she wrote Monday afternoon.

The elder Richie spent two weeks in 1985 at Michael Jackson's Encino estate penning the track with the King of Pop. Quincy Jones, who also has a famous daughter involved in the remake – Rashida Jones, produced the song along with Grammy-winning producer Michael Omartian.

As of 2009, 20 million copies of "We Are the World" have been sold, making it the best-selling single of all-time.

No Michael Jackson this time. No Kenny Loggins, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan or Paul Simon either. At least that's the word as of now.

Several stand-ins were present at Monday's shoot whose silhouettes will reportedly be replaced by famous counterparts in post-production.

Could it be that original supergroup members Bette Middler, Dan Akroyd and Cyndi Lauper got a 21st century encore? We think not.

We'll have to wait until February 12th to find out who else performed. Stay tuned!

For your enjoyment, here is the original "We Are The World" video:

Lady Gaga & Elton John Grammy Performance

Lady Gaga opened up the Grammy Awards with her usual (or perhaps unusual) style with a green glittery dress, shoulder pads and high heels. The high-energy 'Poker Face' performance was short and as previously reported, the song switched over to her duet with Elton John.

Both he and Gaga were pushed out on stage to duet with dueling pianos to 'Speechless' and 'Your Song.' Both emerged with large, sparkly glasses with faces painted in what looked to be ash.

The two traded off verses at times, while simultaneously playing the piano. Watch their performance:

The Jackson Kids Channel Michael's Love

Michael Jackson's eldest children spread a simple – yet powerful – message at Sunday's Grammy Awards while accepting their late father's Lifetime Achievement Award midway through the live telecast.

"Through all his songs, [our father's] message was simple: love," Prince Michael, 12, said on stage at the Staples Center, surrounded by his cousins and sister Paris, 11. "We will continue to spread his message and help the world."

In an emotional moment during a performance-heavy telecast, the late King of Pop's children thanked fans for their support after Jackson's death on June 25th. "We are proud to accept this award on behalf of our father," Prince Michael said. "We'd like to thank God for watching over us for these past seven months and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support. We would also like to thank the fans; our father loved you so much because you were always there for him."

His sister, Paris, who gave a touching tribute to her father at his memorial service over the summer, told the crowd, "Daddy was going to perform this here [last year]," then said, "Thank you. We love you, Daddy."

Moments earlier, Lionel Richie introduced the segment, which began with a powerhouse collaboration, featuring Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson, who sang Jackson's "Earth Song" backed by images of nature and featuring vocals recorded by Jackson. The segment was also filmed in 3-D, with glasses available for viewers to pick up from Target before the show.

"In the song we're about to hear, Michael beautifully expresses the need for our humanity to be in greater harmony with Mother Earth," Richie said.

"Earth Song" was scheduled to be included in Jackson's July 2009 comeback concerts in London, and part of the video clip was included in the recent documentary, This Is It. It also marks the first time an awards show featured a 3-D performance.

Before Sunday's Grammy Awards, the late singer's father, Joe Jackson, expressed pride that his grandchildren would be at the ceremony, representing the family.

"I am very proud that my son, Michael Jackson, is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Grammys," he said. "I am very proud of my grandchildren. Katherine and I are the ones that [have] initiated their participation."

...and the Winners are... - Grammy Results!

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards are now history, with incredible performances by Lady Gaga & Elton John, Pink, The Black Eyed Peas and a 3-D tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, with Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Usher and Smokey Robinson. Avatar Breaks $2 Billion Barrier at Box Office

James Cameron's Avatar has surpassed the $2 billion mark at the international box office - just days after it broke the record held by the director's 1997 drama Titanic.

Cameron's 3D sci-fi spectacular smashed the $1.843 billion record last weekend, and became the best-selling international release of all time.

According to executives at 20th Century Fox, Avatar has grossed $2.039 billion after seven weekends at the top of the charts in the U.S.

The film is an early Oscar favorite ahead of Tuesday's nominations - 12 years after Titanic won gold. The historical drama picked up 14 nominations and won 11 awards including best picture, director and editing for Cameron in 1998.
