John Mayer Sniffs a Man's Banana Hammock
...and Likes It!

So John Mayer didn't parade across the deck of his Mayercraft Carrier fan cruise in the neon green Borat thong he wore to great effect last year, but one of his fans did throw his own (presumably well-worn) at him on stage during one of the cruise concerts.

Apparently Mayer enjoyed, or at least wanted folks to think he enjoyed, the stank. You decide based on these pictures.

So, what do you think? Did he like it or NOT?

Lawyer: 'Officials Will OK Madonna's Adoption Plans'

Madonna's African lawyer insists his client will be a mum again on Friday when her latest adoption plans are given the green light.

Attorney Alan Chinula insists he's anything but worried as Friday's hearing deadline approaches.

The pop superstar has spent the past week in Malawi, revisiting adopted son David's village and making plans to adopt a four-year-old girl, called Mercy James.

And Chinula is more than confident that the adoption will go through as planned.

He says, "I don't see any law in Malawi that can stop this adoption."

The lawyer claims the orphaned girl's mother died shortly after childbirth and her uncle has already signed the relevant paperwork.

Chinula tells UsMagazine.com, "He has already signed off the consent forms, and Madonna counter-signed them. She just has to wait to hear from me when I get the result.

Madonna is not required to attend Friday's hearing.

Many human rights groups are opposing Madonna's latest adoption plans, insisting the little girl should be left in Malawi.

Sir Michael Caine: 'Batman Will Battle The Riddler'

Batman will take on villain The Riddler in the next instalment of the superhero franchise, according to the Caped Crusader's butler Sir Michael Caine.

The British star of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight has let it slip that his movie boss' next foe will "probably be The Riddler" - a role made famous on screen by Jim Carrey in 1995's Batman Forever and on TV by Frank Gorshin, who died in 2005.

Johnny Depp and Eddie Murphy are both in the frame for the role, according to Hollywood gossips.

Caine has no idea who will be cast, but is hoping for a performance to rival Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Caine tells People.com, "I thought it (The Joker character) was going to be a tough job for anyone who played the role after Jack Nicholson (in 1989's Batman). Now Heath is the Joker."

The Simpsons Go Postal

Bart Simpson is finally going to get that lickin' he so richly deserves. He and the rest of his fun and dysfunctional family will be paid tribute by the U.S. Postal Service – you read that right – which is rolling out five 44-cent stamps, in honor of primetime's longest-running comedy's 2009 20th anniversary.

"The Simpsons are American icons, quite frankly," the Postal Services' spokesman, Mark Saunders, said in a statement on behalf of Bart's relatives: father Homer, mother Marge, and sisters Lisa and Maggie. "We're excited about it, and we think America will be, too. It's a great opportunity for us to reach a new generation of stamp enthusiasts."

The cartoon's creator, Matt Groening, has rendered the artwork for the Simpson stamps, to be previewed April 9. In all, the Postal Service annually receives more than 50,000 suggestions for its special stamp of approval, but issues only 20.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Leaked Online

Web-savvy Hugh Jackman fans may not have to wait until May 1 to see the actor in the highly anticipated X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

On Tuesday, an unfinished version of the film was leaked online, according to BBC News. The copy, which was uploaded to file sharing sites, has incomplete special effects.

Meanwhile, Jackman, 40, announced during an appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest that there will be a contest to determine where the April 27 movie premiere will be held. Fans can vote for their hometown or favorite city on the official movie site.

"The town that has the most amount of votes is going to get us there," explained Jackman, People's reigning Sexiest Man Alive. "I hope we go to someplace I've never been in my life before."

Jackman then joked that he and the other stars (which include Liev Schreiber and Ryan Reynolds) will be – in a fashion move inspired by Wolverine – "all in tank tops."

Project Runway Returns to TV This Summer

Project Runway is returning to television this summer — and it will air on Lifetime.

According to the network, legal battles surrounding beleaguered reality show’s already-filmed sixth season have been amicably resolved. “The Weinstein Company will pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime. All of the parties are pleased with the outcome,” the networks say in a joint statement.

Changing gears, the upcoming season of Project Runway relocated from New York to Los Angeles, though it will continue to be hosted by Heidi Klum and judged by Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. Tim Gunn will also mentor the designers. As usual, the finale was shot during New York Fashion Week — this year on February 20th.

But ongoing legal disputes prevented producers from revealing any information about the cast, and the three final collections were shown blindly, with their designers unidentified. International Herald Tribute editor Suzy Menkes acted as the guest judge at the show.

In addition, sources close to the show have saud that Project Runway’s season 6 will utilize “local resources” in Los Angeles — namely focusing more on Hollywood — and will feature appearances by Christina Aguilera, Eva Longoria Parker and Rebecca Romijn.

Project Runway producer Harvey Weinstein expressed his appreciation for the resolution to the legal battle. “I want to personally congratulate Jeff Zucker and NBCU on their success in the litigation and thank Jeff for resolving this in a professional manner,” he said in a statement.

No additional details about the cast or specific airdates have been released.

On Tuesday, Bravo, Runway’s original home, announced details about its new design competition, The Fashion Show, and introduced the cast. That show, featuring Kelly Rowland and Isaac Mizrahi, will air May 7.

According to Lifetime, the network will also air a companion series, Models of the Runway, alongside Project Runway. “All of us at Lifetime are thrilled to move forward with Heidi, Tim, Nina, Michael, The Weinstein Company and the entire Project Runway team,” network president and CEO Andrea Wong said in a statement. “We are proud to add these shows to our growing slate of original programming.”

American Idol's TOp 9 Results Show!

THANK YOU AMERICA!!! You got it right and did NOT vote for Megan Joy to stay in the Idol competition.

Yes, you heard it right...Megan Joy is OUT... ELIMINATED.... FINITO... THE END!

Unfortunately America got it wrong when Allison Iraheta joined Megan and Anoop in the bottom three. For a minute, I was concerned that the most talented female in the competition might have been voted out last night.

I don't quite understand why America is not voting for Allison. She's got the voice, talent and presence so the only thing I can imagine is that they don't like her looks. Who cares what she wears as long as you has the "pipes" to belt out a great tune.

Regardless of how America feels about Allison, I think you've got it wrong if you are not voting for her.

Next week, the Top 8 will be performing songs from the year they were born so we will be hearing tunes from the late 80s / early 90s. It should be an interesting night.

Catch the live performance show on Tuesday night at 8:00 pm (ET) and the live results show at 9:00 pm (ET) on Wednesday. Only on FOX!

The End of "CharlieCruiser's World" is Here!

NOT!

It's April Fool's Day and I have no intentions of closing down CharlieCruiser's World.

This is my hobby and I'm hoping some day to become everyone's ONE SOURCE for entertainment, news, travel, music and culinary experience.

Enjoy your day

...and don't be fooled by a FOOL!

American Idol's Top 9 Live Performance Show

Even though I anticipated this to be the best theme night with the contestants having the entire iTunes library to select their song, I felt it was one of the most boring shows in recent Idol history.

Come on people...choose songs that will entertain the audience and make them remember you for your originality by making it "Your Own". Some of the choices (Anoop, Megan and Lil) were boring and not uplifting at all. Most of the rest (Matt, Scott, Danny and Adam) were just OK!

The two best last night (in my opinion) were Allison and Kris who made it their songs. Allison sound amazing and Kris had his best performance of the entire competition.

I did like Danny and Adam's performances (and they are still my Top 2 choices) but I was not overly impressed by them.

My predictions for the bottom three will be Megan, Anoop and Lil. Hopefully Anoop or Megan will be the one to go. I just cannot handle anymore of Megan's stupid song choices and stupid way of dancing (if you want to call flapping you arms a dance). Plus, I am over Anoop's cockiness.

This year's Idol will be best without Megan and Anoop.

Watch FOX tonight at 9:00 pm (ET) for the live results show with special performances by Lady Gaga and David Cook.

Crawford To Get Footloose?

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has reportedly auditioned to fill Zac Efron's dancing shoes in the remake of "Footloose".

The High School Musical actor was slated to take over Kevin Bacon's lead role in the updated film, but pulled out earlier this month.

And now Crawford is being lined up for the part and has impressed movie studio bosses with his screen test, according to E! Online.

A source tells the website, "He did really well."

Wanda Sykes heads to Fox

Fox is prepping a Saturday night gabber to be hosted by Wanda Sykes.

The Sykes show, which is expected to launch in the fall, would fill the void left by the recently canceled sketch series "MadTV."

The hour long show would air at 11 p.m. According to Broadcasting & Cable, which first broke the news, the Sykes ahow would look more like a panel series similar to Bill Maher's HBO show, as opposed to a regular talker.

Beyond the topical panel discussions, the series also will follow Sykes as she shoots field segments.

Show reps a reunion between Fox and Sykes, who starred in the laffer "Wanda at Large" for the network.

It's unclear how the Sykes show will affect the fate of Fox's other Saturday latenight series, "Talkshow With Spike Feresten." Feresten was recently given a trial run in the 11 p.m. slot.

Sykes currently stars on CBS' "The New Adventures of Old Christine," and will host the 2009 White House Correspondents Associatin dinner next month. She also has frequently appeared on "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

Ben Affleck: Friendship with Matt Damon Endures

They were close childhood friends, collaborated on the script for 1997's Good Will Hunting and then won Oscars for it. And even after Hollywood success and "ballooning" families, Ben Affleck says his friendship with Damon" has not only gotten stronger, with shared vacations, but they're planning another movie together.

"It's cool," Affleck, 36, told People of his and Damon's enduring bond, which includes mixing and mingling with their wives and kids. Affleck has two daughters with wife Jennifer Garner, while Damon, also 36, has two daughters with wife Luciana Barroso.

"We went on vacation last summer," says Affleck, who plays a congressman opposite Russell Crowe in the new thriller State of Play. "It's nice. It always has been. He's got his family ballooning, and we're doing okay – it's nice."

With the two having never veered from their shared Boston upbringing, Affleck observes, "I think it would be the same for anybody. You're friends when you are young, you have a certain life. Then in your 20s you have a different life. In your 30s you get married and have families."

Satisfying Friendships
Given such a perspective, Affleck adds, "It's a different kind of satisfaction being around your friends, the friends you grew up with. They have kids, have barbecues and that kind of deal. That is really satisfying, too. It's one of the nice things about having friends for a long time."

Equally nice is that, with recent arrival Seraphina Rose joining daughter Violet, 3, at home, Affleck says, "I am very lucky. I feel blessed to look around and see that I've got a healthy family and a job. Especially nowadays, you really feel very good."

When it comes to being a dad, he's mastered many of the duties – including how to mash bananas properly – that his wife was once worried would require supervision.

"I'm in a pretty good zone right now," says People's 2002 Sexiest Man Alive. "I say that, and I'll go home to find everything exploded, [but] so far, so good."

All in all, he says, "I really am happy with what I'm doing now. In fact, I've never been at a place where I've felt better about going to work every day. I'm more engaged and very, very happy … I've really gotten comfortable with the things that are important to me."

Time to Re-Team
In terms of professional projects, though they've costarred and shared cameos in various films and collaborated as producers on different projects, Affleck and Damon haven't been paired together on screen for five years. Affleck says the timing now feels right to re-team once again.

"Supposedly we're doing this thing next year" once their busy schedules dovetail, Affleck said. For his part, Damon has to complete three films – including a fourth turn as Jason Bourne – while Affleck, who received warm reviews for his 2007 directorial effort Gone Baby Gone, will be directing and starring in The Town, which Variety reports is an adaptation of the Chuck Hogan novel The Prince of Thieves.

"Matt is always pretty busy but claiming that he's going to try and slow it down a little bit," says his buddy. "He doesn't mind taking a year to wait. I would love to, it's great, and we're both busy. Matt lives in Miami, so it's hard to get a chance to see him. If we work together it's an excuse to hang out."

How Marie Osmond Lost 46 Lbs. and Stopped Hating Her Body

Though she shed 46 pounds in 2007, it took Marie Osmond years of struggling with a negative body image until she decided to fight back.

"Our society makes women feel that they should have a body of a skinny little boy," she told People. "We put on five pounds, and we think we're fat … It's stupid."

It's these very issues Osmond, 49, addresses in her new book, "Might As Well Laugh About It Now," which also deals with life's other struggles. Publication date is next Tuesday. Says Osmond: "You have women who feel that they have to get boob jobs to be sexy. It's wrong. We're females, we have curves."

Family Teasing
Osmond felt the pressure to be thin at an early age. As a pre-teen, she remembers being called "the fat sister." While hosting Donny & Marie in the late '70s, Osmond, then a petite 5'5" and 110 pounds, was told she needed to reduce. "The producers said I was an embarrassment and the show was going to be cancelled if I didn't keep food out of my fat mouth. And so, I got down to 93 pounds. I was a lollipop head."

She didn't eat for days at a time and was briefly bulimic. But when the show ended in 1979, Osmond gave up dieting. She gradually gained 40 plus pounds as a result of bad eating habits: skipping breakfast, candy bar snacks and big meals late at night.

It wasn't until her son, Stephen, now 25, expressed concern for her health that something clicked. "Stephen said, 'We need you around for our kids and your grandkids,' " recalls Osmond. "I needed to do it for my kids, but mostly I needed to do it out of self-love. [I] looked at dieting as abusive and controlling but my whole attitude changed to, 'I just want to be healthy.' "

The Turnaround
Her eating habits improved, and she began taking long walks and eventually joined NutriSystem, eventually becoming the program's celebrity spokesperson.

"It took eight years to put [the weight] on, and four months to take it off," she explains. "My metabolism shut off." That same year, she joined Dancing with the Stars and memorably fainted after a samba routine. She was eventually voted off in the finale.

Offstage, her personal life was equally dramatic. "I was going through a major divorce. My father passed away. I had a child who was struggling. He had to go into a rehab situation. I was like, 'Good grief!' " says Osmond.

Her World Crashes
Her divorce from her husband of 20 years, music producer Brian Blosil, came as a bitter blow. "I had a bad marriage for 20 years and a fear of saying that it was a failure," she admits. "You have to say to yourself, 'What am I doing? Am I really taking something and trying to make it average? Does this person keep me down?' " Considering they were together for two decades, Osmond observes with a laugh, "You can't say I didn't give it a shot."

In November 2007, her son Michael, then 16, went into rehab. "Those kinds of things are really very hard for a teenager to deal with," she told People. "And if he ever wants to talk about it ... he will, but it has to be their choice. It's not my choice."

Now out of rehab, Michael Blosil is finishing up his last year of high school while living with his mom in Las Vegas (where she and brother Donny headline in a show at the Flamingo). "I couldn't be more proud of him," says Osmond. "He's got a 3.9 GPA in high school. He's looking at scholarships to some wonderful colleges."

Meanwhile, as Osmond faces turning 50 on October 13th, she jokes, "I call it the female F-word." But, she is quick to add, "I have eight beautiful children. I'm crazy busy, and I feel fantastic. So, that can be, 'Fifty – the F-word – Feel Fantastic.' I love it."

Michelle Obama Denies Pregnancy Rumors

Michelle Obama's super-toned (and often exposed) arms have caused quite a stir. Now so has her stomach.

When people speculated the First Lady had a "baby bump," she sat down with Oprah Winfrey to clarify.

"I was like 'baby bump?' As hard as I work on my abs," Obama, 44, says in the April issue of O Magazine. "Here's the scoop: Not pregnant. And not planning on it."

Jennifer Hudson's Wedding Will Go to the Dogs

Jennifer Hudson is looking forward to a three-dog night for her upcoming wedding to fiancé David Otunga.

Though mum on the date of the nuptials, the Oscar- and Grammy-winning star, 27, says one thing's certain: "I want my dogs to be in my wedding. I am so serious," she tells Access Hollywood of her three pups, Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl.

"Oscar might be the ring bearer," says Hudson. "We'll send them down the aisle with a little tux or something, a little dress."

The singer who's been dating Otunga, a Harvard Law grad and reality show star, for a year and a half also revealed that she's planning to design her own wedding dress, which she describes as "definitely classic, more traditional than anything. I want it to be nice and traditional, but very classy, very classy."

Having told Oprah Winfrey that she finds performing therapeutic, this week Hudson kicks off her first headlining tour since the October 2008 murders of her mother, brother and nephew in Chicago. The star also says that starting a family of her own is already on her mind.

"I definitely want a family," she said. "You know, I'm almost 30 now, so they gotta get started sometime."

Idol’s Danny Gokey Returns Home for Grandfather’s Funeral

Less than a year after losing his wife, American Idol’s Danny Gokey is grieving the death of another family member. A source confirms that Gokey was back home in Wisconsin over the weekend to attend funeral services for his grandfather.

According to the website everydaychristian.com, Gokey, a church music director, also attended services at his Milwaukee church, Faith Builders International Ministries, before going to the funeral on Sunday.

Danny did return on time to LA and performed during last night's live performance show.

Idol viewers are familiar with Gokey’s heartbreaking personal story. Just four weeks before his audition, his wife Sophia passed away.

“It’s so fresh in my mind,” the singer told reporters in February when he made the Top 13. “Honestly, this is a sob story I don’t want, but it is shaping my life and it’s causing hope for a lot of people. Now I have my mission.”

Gokey has since become a favorite of both fans and judges(and of mine...too!). During a recent visit to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Simon Cowell predicted that Gokey would earn a spot in the FOX competition’s May finale, along with fellow contestant Adam Lambert.

“My wife would be telling all her friends, and she would be going to the store, buying clothes and trying to get herself all cute,” he said when asked by reporters in February what she would think of his success on Idol. “She’d just be so happy.”

Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel Are Expecting

Broadway belters Taye Diggs, 38, and Idina Menzel, 37, are expecting their first baby.

The longtime couple, who met on the 1996 Broadway production of "Rent" and married in January 2003, will welcome their new arrival later this year.

Diggs costars on the ABC drama "Private Practice" and Menzel won a Tony Award for her turn in the 2003 Broadway production of the musical "Wicked".

David Cook Cancels Shows Due to 'Family Matters'

American Idol champ David Cook hopes to return to his tour later this week after canceling two shows "to deal with personal family matters."

The singer did not elaborate in the announcement posted on his Web site. But Cook's brother Adam has been battling brain cancer for over a decade, and Cook's rep told People that David spent time with Adam last week.

Cook, 26, who canceled college campus shows Monday and Tuesday in New Hampshire and Connecticut, will appear on American Idol in a taped performance Wednesday. He is planning to get back on the road Thursday, his rep says. Concert dates are currently scheduled through October.

"David would like everyone to rest assured that we are working with the universities to reschedule the shows that are missed," says his site. Fans, meanwhile, posted hundreds of messages of support. "Take as much time as you need," wrote one. "My prayers are always with you and your amazing family."
