Lady Gaga: Gender Bending 'Vogue' Shoot!

Lady Gaga bends gender and poses as a man for Vogue Hommes Japan.

Going under the name Jo Calderone, the 24-year-old eccentric singer appeared more conservative, wearing a simple men’s dress shirt and a jacket in this new photo shoot.

The photos were taken in London by Nick Knight and featured styling by Nicola Formichetti, who posted the photo previews on his Twitter.

The photo spread will appear in the men’s fashion editorial of Vogue Hommes Japan’s September issue.

Matthew Morrison Shows Off His Six-Pack

Shirtless Matthew Morrison shows off his six-pack in the June 2010 issue of Vogue with cover girl Blake Lively.

The 31-year-old Glee actor, who paired a Gap shirt with Polo Ralph Lauren chinos in this shot, modeled beach-ready looks with Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann. Matthew also wore swimwear by Tommy Hilfiger during the seaside shoot.

Lady Gaga on Her Style: “I’ve Always Been an Outspoken and Extreme Dresser”

Vogue’s December issue is getting bewitched– literally– by fierce style star Lady Gaga.

Starring in a Hansel and Gretel-inspired spread, shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, Lady Gaga channels her naughtier side to play a witch, dressed by her pal Marc Jacobs.

The pop sensation tells the magazine, “I’ve always been an outspoken and extreme dresser.” And while her ruffled bloomer shorts and insanely high heels for the Vogue spread were nothing out of the ordinary for Gaga, Vogue staffers were intrigued by what the star wore to visit their office before the shoot!

Lady Gaga reportedly showed up to 4 Times Square first wearing a trailing white chiffon Galliano goddess gown with a Philip Treacy headdress that spelled VOGUE in clipped white feathers, only to turn up the next day in a little black dress and flaming-red wig.

And if that wasn’t outrageous enough, the singer arrived for the actual shoot “stark naked except for her white rubber raincoat and some very, very high heels!” recounts Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington.

So where does she get her crazy fashion from? Her art director, Matthew Williams–”my Jean-Paul Goude”–was “the inspiration that made the connection for me between the art world and the fashion world,” Lady Gaga tells Vogue. “He used to say things like ‘If you want to make a shoulder pad, don’t research jackets—research sculpture, mineral rocks, paintings.’ He thinks in a different way; he is the designer of the future.”

Vogue Goes Behind the Scenes with Nine’s Cast

Talk about an all-star cast!

Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Fergie and Marion Cotillard team up with screen legends Sophia Loren and Judi Dench to star in the musical Nine along with leading man Daniel Day-Lewis.

And though the much-anticipated musical won’t hit the big screen until November 25th, Vogue has already caught a glimpse of the killer costumes created by Oscar-award winner Colleen Atwood, who designed couture-like fashions that date back to the ’20s. And while the extras were decked in vintage, the superstar leading ladies had custom-made costumes to make it easier to sing and dance — 350 costumes and 200 pairs of shoes between them!

Expect frilly garter belts, satin-and-lace bras, bustiers, hot pants, flapper dresses and fluffy ostrich-feather fans everywhere.

The leading ladies tell Vogue how thrilled they are to be part of the movie, with Hudson gushing, “I spent most of my childhood singing and dancing and just never had the chance to do it professionally. So when I got the chance to work with Rob, I was so excited, I was out of my mind.”

Marion confesses to a childhood longing to do musicals as well, “It’s been my dream to do an American musical. When I was a child, Annie was my favorite. I just never thought I would get to do it.”

Michelle Williams on Vogue October 2009 Issue

Michelle Williams is pixie pretty on the October 2009 cover of Vogue. Here’s what the 29-year-old actress said in her interview:

On Heath Ledger’s passing: “I was holding it together by a string and a paper clip in the fall and winter. I didn’t know if I could keep it all together… You console yourself by saying it’s all a deepening process. But it’s wired. After the first year, the pain is less intense; it’s less immediate. But the magical thinking goes away too. And that’s a whole new reckoning. But every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at [Matilda].”

On reflecting back on the good times: “Brokeback Mountain was an unrepeatable moment in time, a very charmed time in my life. I was in love; I was in a movie I was proud to be a part of, and with a beautiful brand-new baby. Everything was good in that moment.”

On the constant attention from papaprazzi: “It’s because of this tragedy that there’s more paparazzi. That is hard to be graceful and understanding about… It’s hard to be the man and the woman in that [paparazzi] situation. Heath always used to do that for us.”

Michelle Obama to Appear on Cover of Vogue

Michelle Obama is making history again – by becoming only the second president's wife to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine.

The newly-minted first lady was photographed by famed shooter Annie Leibovitz at the Hay-Adams Hotel, where the Obamas stayed before the Inauguration.

While nearly every first lady – beginning with Herbert Hoover's wife, Lou, in 1929 – has been photographed for the fashion bible, only Hillary Clinton was featured on the cover, in Dec. 1998, Vogue spokesman Patrick O'Connell tells People.

In the March issue of the magazine, the cover of which will be released Wednesday, Obama is seen wearing a magenta dress by Jason Wu, who designed her inaugural gown, and also pictured in a black dress by designer Narciso Rodriguez, according to the Washington Post.

In the interview, Obama talks about getting used to Washington and her plans for being a first lady – and first mom. "I'm going to try to take [our two daughters] to school every morning – as much as I can," she says, according to the Post. "But there's also a measure of independence. And obviously there will be times I won't be able to drop them off at all. I like to be a presence in my kids' school. I want to know the teacher; I want to know the other parents."

As for why Vogue chose to feature Obama on the cover, the magazine's editor Anna Wintour writes, "Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama's election campaign, though I don't think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by First Lady Michelle Obama's wardrobe ... It's inspiring to see our first lady so serene and secure in her personal style."
