Madonna & Lourdes Premiere ‘Nine’ in NYC

Madonna and her hip daughter Lourdes Leon don Dolce&Gabbana ensembles at the premiere of Nine at New York City’s Ziegfeld Theatre on Tuesday, December 15th.

Madonna recently shared how fortunate her four kids are. Here's what she said: “They get great bonuses and perks out of being my children and they know it, and they’re very grateful and appreciative for it,” the 51-year-old mom told British morning show GMTV. “I think they are pretty balanced in terms of how they view fame or celebrity or things like that. I think it took them a while to adjust, but I think they’re okay about it."

Penélope Cruz:Pink Panther Inspired Dance Scenes

Spanish bombshell Penélope Cruz resorted to some highly unusual methods to get in the mood for her sexy dance number in her upcoming film Nine.

"The musical number had to be sexy," she told costar Marion Cotillard in the December/January issue of Interview. "And thinking about the Pink Panther would help get me in the mood ... When I was climbing the ropes to the ceiling, all I could think about was the Pink Panther."

The actress explains her choice of inspiration for the role of Carla, a film director's Italian mistress in the upcoming flick: "I think she's a little bit goofy – not that she tries to be funny, but something is a little bit off about her."

And even more surprising admission? Cruz, who dates fellow Oscar winner Javier Bardem, says that despite her reputation as an on-screen siren, she isn't always self-confident. "I really think insecurity is something that comes with being an actor," she says. "To be an actor, you need to have an ego, but then, your ego is your worst enemy."

Vogue Goes Behind the Scenes with Nine’s Cast

Talk about an all-star cast!

Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Fergie and Marion Cotillard team up with screen legends Sophia Loren and Judi Dench to star in the musical Nine along with leading man Daniel Day-Lewis.

And though the much-anticipated musical won’t hit the big screen until November 25th, Vogue has already caught a glimpse of the killer costumes created by Oscar-award winner Colleen Atwood, who designed couture-like fashions that date back to the ’20s. And while the extras were decked in vintage, the superstar leading ladies had custom-made costumes to make it easier to sing and dance — 350 costumes and 200 pairs of shoes between them!

Expect frilly garter belts, satin-and-lace bras, bustiers, hot pants, flapper dresses and fluffy ostrich-feather fans everywhere.

The leading ladies tell Vogue how thrilled they are to be part of the movie, with Hudson gushing, “I spent most of my childhood singing and dancing and just never had the chance to do it professionally. So when I got the chance to work with Rob, I was so excited, I was out of my mind.”

Marion confesses to a childhood longing to do musicals as well, “It’s been my dream to do an American musical. When I was a child, Annie was my favorite. I just never thought I would get to do it.”

Coming Soon: Nine

This is the first trailer for the upcoming Rob Marshall movie "Nine" which will be released on November 29th. It is predicted that this film is going to be just as big (if not bigger) than Marshall's star-studded hit, Chicago.

Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Fergie, and Penelope Cruz, Nine is a musical about film director, "Guido Contini" (Daniel Day-Lewis) who is trying to finish a movie but has too many women in his life. There's Luisa, his lovely wife (played by Marion Cotillard), Carla his sizzling mistress (Penelope Cruz), and Claudia his muse (Nicole Kidman).

Harvey Weinstein produced the film version of "Nine," which is based on a musical originally written by Arthur Kopit and Mary Yeston and inspired by Federico Fellini's autobiographical movie, 8½. Raul Julia headlined the original 1982 Broadway production. In 2003, Antonio Banderas played the same role in the Broadway revival, which also featured Chita Rivera, Mary Stuart Masterson, Jane Krakowski, and Laura Benanti.

Based on the trailer, it looks like this will be one of the movies to watch during the Christmas holiday season.
