Life seems to be very, very good for Ricky Martin since he came out publicly this spring. Thursday night, he was honored by The Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR) at the organization’s annual Inspiration Gala at The New York Public Library.
In his brief acceptance speech, Ricky dedicated his award to a young Cambodian girl infected with HIV that he met two years ago in his work against human trafficking: “Today, I speak on her behalf. This award is for her. This award, I’m going to take to Cambodia again. I’m going to give it to her.”
Among those at Ricky’s table were Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson and his partner, Monte Lapka.
AfterElton.com has all kinds of wonderful photos from the event which was also attended by Cyndi Lauper, Kylie Minogue, Lance Bass, and Tyson Beckford. There was also a fashion show featuring scantily clad guys!
