This season’s American Idol champ Lee DeWyze and runner-up Crystal Bowersox failed to achieve much Billboard success with their debut singles.Of the three DeWyze cuts to debut this week, his most successful is “Beautiful Day” at No. 24. Bowersox’s “Up To the Mountain” only managed to climb to No. 57.
Combined, they debuted five songs, an underwhelming showing considering the finale was last week.
Last season, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert combined for nine chart entries the week after AI‘s finale.
