American Idol's Top 7 Live Results Show

Well, as promised, two contendars were eliminated during last night's live results show on American Idol. And to no surprise, Lil Rounds was the first one to be sent "home sweet home".

The show continued on to a performance of Disco medleys which included Thelma Houston and KC (from KC and the Sunshine Band). In addition, David Archuleta (last year's runner up) performed his latest single "Touch My Hand".

Finally at the end, Ryan selected the bottom 2nd and 3rd (remember Lil was the lowest in the bottom three). Anoop Desai and (surprisingly) Allison Iraheta were in the bottom three. And at the end, it was Anoop who was also sent "home sweet home" on this double elimination night.

American got the bottom two right. I hate seeing Lil go home, but she truly had the worst performance on Tuesday night.

Before I forget...what did you think of the Top 7's group performance which was choreographed by Paula Abdul? In my opinion, the dancing was good...but the singing (I mean lip syncing) was atrocious. Do you feel the same? Share your comments below.

American Idol returns next Tuesday at 8:00 pm (ET) on FOX with the Top 5's performing live. The next elimination takes place on Wednesday at 9:00 pm (ET).

American Idol's Top 7 (Again) Live Performance Show

Yesterday, was an AMAZING night on the American Idol stage. All of the seven remaining contestants had great performances. Some more original than others.

But the night was stolen by three incredible and original performances including Adam Lambert's "If I Can't Have You" from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, Allison Iraheta's rendition of Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff", and Kris Allen's performance of another Donna Summer classic (and my least favorite song from the Disco queen) "She Work's Hard For The Money". They were my top three choices of the night.

Now, this does not mean that "dreamy eyes" Danny Gokey is no longer one of my favorites. His performance of Earth Wind and Fire's "September" was very uplifting and enjoyable, it's just Adam, Allison and Kris were extremely original and performed their songs as if they were already superstars.

Anoop Desai's performance "Dim All The Lights", the third Donna Summer hit sung last night, was also delightful to the ear (except for the last note).

Unfortunately, because Matt Giraud was saved by the judges last week, tonight TWO of the remaining seven will be eliminated from the competition and in my opinion the bottom two are Matt and Lil Rounds. I hate to see Lil go before Anoop, but her choice of song (Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman" was the wrong one for her). Why she did not sing a Donna Summer or Thelma Houston classic beats me.

For the live results, make sure you tune into FOX tonight at 9:00 pm (ET). David Archuleta will be performing and I have a strong feeling we will have a surprise guest performance by the Disco Queen, Donna Summer.

American Idol's Top 7 Shocking Results Show!

As we previously reported, the Top 7 contestants all performed well during the Tuesday live performance show. No one stood out as being the "worst" performer and deserving to depart during last night's results show. So, here's what happened.

America's choices for bottom three this week were (by no surprise) Anoop Desai, Lil Rounds and Matt Giraud. According to the judges (and me), the "right" three performers were in the bottom three this week.

Ryan Seacrest narrowed it down from three to two, by sending Anoop "back to the couch" for another chance to perform next week (and torture us with his cocky attitude). We were then left with Lil and Matt in the bottom two. It was quite obvious that Lil would be going home last night.

But in an odd turn of event, Lil was NOT the one with the lowest number of votes. It was actually Matt.Matt was given another chance to perform Bryan Adams "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman", which he butchered this time around, and see if he would be saved by the judges. It turned out to be his worst performance ever.

As he was singing for the "SAVE" vote, the judges made the decision to keep him on for one more week, therefore no one was eliminated this week. This is great news for Matt, but horrible news for everyone else. Because next week, two contestants will be eliminated and no one can save them.

It was a bad choice for the judges to use the SAVE vote on Matt, as they should have kept it one more week in case one of the front runners (Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey or Allison Iraheta) would "mistakenly" be in the bottom three and eliminated by America's lack of votes.

Next week the Top 7 (again) will be performing to Disco classics. This may turn out to be a great week for underdogs like Lil, but what about all of the others? Well, we will have to tune into the live performance show on Tuesday at 8:00 pm (ET) on FOX to hear them belt out some disco hits (or possibly misses).

American Idol's Top 7 Live Performance Show

Last night's live performance show of the remaining seven contestants could easily be labeled as the "SUPER 7" show! It was probably one of the best shows this season with practically all of the contestants belting out their best tunes to date.

I will start of by saying that when I first heard Quentin Tarantino was this week's "mentor" and the Idols contestants were going to sing songs made famous at the silver screen, I was a little bit concerned. I misinterpreted Quentin's association with the show with having to hear the contestants perform unknown songs from Quentin's movies such as "Reservoir Dog", "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill". Instead, we heard lovely rendition of songs from "Anaconda", "Easy Rider", "The Rose", and "Endless Love", just to name a few.

So, after last night's performances, here's my run down of whom I think did the best and who may be in the bottom three tonight.

I will start off by saying that Adam Lambert's "Born to be Wild" performance was another original masterpiece which may eventually win him the title of American Idol 2009. Adam can really make any song his own...and truly should it with his rendition of this classic song.

Danny Gokey brought tears to my eyes with his solo performance of "Endless Love". His beautiful voice, and his emotional expression made this my favorite performance of the night. I am sure he was performing that beautiful song to his wife who was looking down from heaven.

Allisson Iraheta's and Kris Allen's performances also deserve a round of applause. They really did a remarkable job with making it their own and sounded like true professionals on the Idols stage.

Unfortunately, someone has to be in the bottom three each week and this week I believe the bottom three will be Matt Giraud, Lil Rounds and probably Allison Iraheta (due to her lack of popularity).

In my opinion, Matt had the weakest performance last night, but America will likely keep him on for a little longer and Lil Rounds end up leaving us this week. I think that will be the wrong choice as I personally can do without Matt and Anoop Desai on the show.

American Idol's Top 8 Results Show!

Well, I will start off by saying that I was not at all surprised as to America's "selection" for the bottom three on last night's results show.

I always expected for Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, and Scott MacIntyre to be this week's bottom three based on their performance on Tuesday. All along I thought Lil Rounds would be going home due to her cheesy Tina Turner (wanna be) look-a-like rendition of What's Love Got to Do with It", but I was wrong. She was the first one to be sent back to the couch.

After a remarkable performance by Flo Rida and the one & only Kellie Pickler (plus the opening surprise performance by Frankie Avalon), America decided to send Anoop back to the couch (for hopefully his last week) and send Scott "Home Sweet Home".

American Idol will return on Tuesday at 8:00 pm (ET) for the live performance show, followed by the live results show on Wednesday at 9:00 pm (ET).

American Idol's Top 8 Predictions

Well it was a better song choice night at the Idol's stage in comparison to last week's show, with a few exceptions.

I will say that my two favorite performances were from Allison and Danny (in that order). Allison did a remarkable job belting out the classic Bonnie Raitt tune. Danny also had another amazing night.

I know America does not have the same "loving" feelings that I have for Allison, but they need to forget her looks and vote based on her sing abilities. She is definitely a contestant that has an opportunity to eventually sell plenty of CDs.

Now you may be wondering, why is Adam not in my top 2 this week? Well, it definitely has nothing to do with his performance. The only reason I am not "judging" his performance this week, is because the lovely American Idol producers decided to run the show beyond the scheduled 62 minutes, therefore my DVR did not record Adam's performance because it ran into the Fringe time frame. So I missed his performance and will have to patiently wait to download it tonight on iTunes.

My predicted contestant who will be in the bottom two will be Lil Rounds and Scott MacIntyre. Though I would prefer for Scott to go home tonight, I believe Lil will probably be the one "packing her bags and getting out of town."

American Idol: Top 13 Perform Live Tonight!

Last week, 13 lucky number contestants made AMERICAN IDOL history when the judges decided to add 4 Wild Card performers to the Top 12 group, instead of 3 previously announced!

The Top 13 will battle it out for your votes tonight live at 8 pm (ET). Then Kelly Clarkson and Kanye West will perform during the live results show tomorrow at 9 pm (ET).

America, I ask you, "Who has your vote?" I'm giving my vote to Danny Gokey all the way until he wins in May!
