Cynthia Nixon & Wife Welcome a Son

It's a boy for Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni!

Marinoni gave birth to the couple's son, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, on Monday, February 7th, Nixon's rep confirms.

"Christine and baby are doing great," stated her rep.

Nixon, 44, and Marinoni, 43, began dating in 2004 and announced their engagement in 2009. The Sex and the City star has two children, Samantha, 14, and Charles, 8, from her previous relationship with teacher Danny Mozes.

Cynthia Nixon is one of those amazing people who seems to just get better with age.

The Tony, Grammy and two-time Emmy winning actress turns 44 today and is at the peak of her profession with acclaimed roles on stage, television and movies.

She, of course, is best known for her role as Miranda on Sex and the City and reunites next month with her TV co-stars for the second feature film based on the much-loved series.

She had spent more than a decade with the man who is the father of her two children but she came out publicly in 2006 after falling in love with activist Christine Marinoni.

She has become an articulate and fearless voice for LGBT equality most recently making a video for Fight Back New York which seeks to vote out of office state senators who voted against same-sex legislation last

Anna Paquin Comes Out as Bisexual

No one saw this coming! Anna Paquin, who plays a telepathic vampire lover on HBO's True Blood, has come out as bisexual.

Paquin, who's engaged to her True Blood costar Stephen Moyer, makes the announcement in a PSA video promoting the Give a Damn campaign, which features celebritiess speaking out for equality.

"I'm Anna Paquin. I'm bisexual and I give a damn," Paquin, 27, says on-camera during a private taping on Jan. 30 in Los Angeles. Sources said they were unaware beforehand that Paquin would make the announcement.

Others who were present at the taping included comedian Margaret Cho and singers Mya and Jason Mraz.

Paquin's PSA comes on behalf of the True Colors Fund, an organization dedicated to earning equal rights for people who are gay, straight, bisexual or transgendered. The organization's "Give a Damn" campaign launches Thursday, with Paquin's spot as the first of several to be unveiled on-line in coming months.

Other major names in the campaign include Kim Kardashian, Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg, Cynthia Nixon, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Judith Light, Clay Aiken and Wanda Sykes.

Cynthia Nixon to Receive Special GLAAD Prize

Recognizing the entertainment industry's impact on same-sex equality issues, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has announced its nominees for the group's 21st annual Media Awards, to be held March 13th in New York, April 17th in Los Angeles and June 5th in San Francisco.

AMC's acclaimed period drama Mad Men HBO's hit vampire show True Blood and ABC's new generational comedy Modern Family, along with singers Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert, are among the top contenders.

GLAAD also announced that Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon, who made headlines by publicly discussing her long-term relationship with a woman, will be honored with the Vito Russo Award at the New York ceremony. The award, named after founding GLAAD member and author of The Celluloid Closet, is presented to an openly LGBT media professional who has helped promote equal rights.

All told, GLAAD announced 116 nominees in 24 English-language categories and 36 Spanish-language nominees in eight categories. In the competitive categories, cable networks earned 23 nominations, while broadcast networks pulled in 17.

Cynthia Nixon Marches For Gay Rights

Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon took to the streets of Washington, D.C. on Sunday to lead a gay rights march.

The actress and her long-time partner Christine Marinoni were among the thousands who participated in The National Equality March in the U.S. capital.

Nixon was spotted holding up a banner as she walked with hundreds of fellow New Yorkers, before taking to a podium to address the crowd.

Holding back tears, Nixon said, "I drove down here with 1,400 other New Yorkers from the theatre community and from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and I am prouder than ever to be from New York today because last month my congressman Jerrold Nadler introduced a bill that will at long last repeal the hateful, discriminatory and absurdly named Defense of Marriage Act."

The star then paid tribute to late student Matthew Shepard, a teen who died in 1998 after he was tortured for being gay.

She added, "Our right to marry is of paramount importance. It is important because when a country has different laws for different categories of people it sends its population a message that the different group of people with lesser rights are somehow inferior or less deserving of respect.

"That message is heard loud and clear by the worst elements in our society. It instructs them that if they are looking for someone to bully or beat or even kill, if they are looking for someone vulnerable to prey upon, gay people are a ready target. And that is why this movement is not just about our ability to get married. It is about demanding equal rights, equal responsibilities, equal opportunities, equal treatment and equal protection under the law so that we can herald in a new day."

Singer Lady Gaga was also spotted at the rally.

Cynthia Nixon Engaged to Wed

Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon is engaged to marry her partner Christine Marinoni.

The actress announced her happy news to the crowd at the Love, Peace and Marriage Equality rally in New York City on Sunday, reports Access Hollywood.

Nixon's co-star Kristin Davis, who also loaned her support to the gay rights event, looked on as Nixon told protesters she and Marinoni became engaged last month.

The couple began dating after Nixon split from her husband Danny Mozes in 2003.
