Newcomer Charlie Bewley has been selected to play the role of Demetri in the upcoming film from the Twilight saga, New Moon.Demetri is a member of the Volturi, “a venerable coven of vampires who weigh and impose the laws of the vampire world.” He is described as tall and lean, having an olive complexion with a chalky pallor, and dark hair that reaches his shoulders.
The announcement came today from Summit Entertainment’s Erik Feig that principal photography has begun on the film, which is shooting on location in Vancouver, BC, and Tuscany, Italy.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black.
In New Moon, Bella finds herself drawn into the world of werewolves by her growing friendship with Jacob after the abrupt departure of Edward.
This could be Bewley’s big break, as was Twilight for Pattinson. Just a month ago Bewley’s Twitter update read “please let this be the last time i scandalously flirt with the bread line, dear lord.”
