Dancing With The Star's Maksim Chmerkovskiy Did Not Turn Down U.S. Version of The Bachelor

While it certainly would have been the most dramatic network crossover ever, Dancing with the Stars‘ resident hunk Maksim Chmerkovskiy did not, in fact, turn down an offer to star in ABC’s hit dating show The Bachelor, according to a show source.

Though Maks writes on his blog that he “turned down the American version” of The Bachelor and will instead star in a Ukrainian version of the show, a show source said that ABC did meet with the Dancing star but never offered him the gig as chief rose-master.

Not only would the Bachelor‘s shooting schedule conflict with Dancing, which returns in March, the show has had limited success with “high concept” Bachelors (think The Fake Prince, The British Bloke, The Football Player) — and there’s no reason to think viewers would buy that notorious playboy Maks was there (all together now) for the right reasons.

Reps for Chmerkovskiy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Brad Womack Returning to The Bachelor

Few Bachelor fans will ever forget the night Brad Womack broke not one, but two hearts, on the Season 11 finale in 2007.

But now Womack is back to take another shot at finding love, it was announced Monday.

“At first I was skeptical,” Bachelor host Chris Harrison said to People magazine, “But the more I thought about it, the more I fell in love with the idea of him coming back, getting another shot.”

The Austin bar owner, 37, famously rejected his final two bachelorettes, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft. He chose to be alone, a bold choice that no other Bachelor or Bachelorette has ever made in the show’s history. The fan and media backlash he suffered following his decision nearly caused him to go into hiding.

Womack resurfaced over the summer, making amends on ABC’s 20/20 with Pappas, who’s engaged to marry schoolteacher Stephen Stagliano next spring.

“I don’t think Brad deserved as much of the anger and resentment from the fans,” Harrison says of the way people responded to the finale’s unhappy ending. “He’s come out a better man and I think he’s ready to do this.”

Will Chris Lambton or Ty Brown Be the Next Bachelor?

Who will be the next star of The Bachelor?

Sources have said that at least two men from Ali Fedotowsky's season of The Bachelorette have been "in serious talks" with ABC.

Cape Cod landscaper Chris Lambton and Nashville medical salesman Ty Brown have had offers extended to them to be the next Bachelor, but neither has confirmed yet, a source says.

With the new season of The Bachelor slated to start production later next month, a source told People magazine that while producers have negotiated with both Lambton and Brown, "there may be one or two other men still under consideration."

Last season's Bachelorette garnered the franchise its highest ratings since 2004 when Trista Rehn accepted a proposal from Colorado firefighter Ryan Sutter. Wanting to build upon that, "they are reviewing all avenues carefully," the source says.

ABC and Warner Horizon, who produce The Bachelor, decline to comment on casting speculation.
"We will be making an announcement soon," a spokesperson told People.

Chris Lambton Still Considering The Bachelor

Don’t count Chris Lambton out of the upcoming season of The Bachelor just yet!

Although the Cape Cod, Massachusetts., landscaper is reportedly hesitant about continuing his search for love on reality TV, he also hasn’t completely ruled it out.

“There’s an ongoing dialogue,” Bachelor and Bachelorette host Chris Harrison told People magazine. “I was just with him this weekend in North Carolina and we talked about the show … it may be right for him, but it may not be.”

But just because Lambton is a gentleman — one who accepted Ali Fedotowsky‘s ultimate decision and wished her well — doesn’t mean he’s the perfect candidate for the show.

“You have to take aside the clamoring of millions of fans [who] want him to be the Bachelor just because they [want] to wish him well,” Harrison says. “But they don’t necessarily know what’s right for him or what’s right for the show.”

At the end of the day, it will be Lambton who needs to decide whether it’s a right fit or not. Says Harrison, “I don’t want to push him into something he’s not ready to do, or it’s not going to be right and we’ll all end up regretting [it].”

And while Lambton’s search for love on TV may still be up in the air, two other franchise alumni have found their match — and Harrison couldn’t be happier.

“I wish them the best,” he says about Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders, whom he considers family.

And though he’s received an invite for their wedding this weekend, Harrison won’t be able to make it. He’ll be hosting TV Guide’s Emmys Red Carpet with Chris Harrison on Sunday — which he’s also executive producing with his own production company, Harrison Productions.

The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi: The Showdown Gets Ugly

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi took their he-said-she-said circus to the air on Monday night in a previously recorded interview about their relationship. Among the heated subjects they tackled were Vienna selling her story to a tabloid, the emotional abuse she says he inflicted, and the constant undermining Jake says he endured.

Trading bitter insults throughout their talk with Chris Harrison, the exes battled it out in a verbal boxing match that proved no winner — and pulled no punches. Here’s a recap of how it all went down:

Round 1: How it all fell apart
Jake: “The relationship was going downhill but I wasn’t ready to quit fighting.”

Vienna: “The first month together was great. He was crazy about me. From there it went straight downhill. It felt like a relationship when cameras were rolling or we were out on a red carpet, but when we were at home [it was] lonely. I just wanted him to be around me and talk to me and kiss me like a normal relationship.”

Round 2: The tabloid interview
Vienna: “Either way, our relationship had been public. The world was going to want to know what happened . . . I hadn’t had a voice this entire time.”

Jake: “I’m so mad at you. I’m disgusted with you.”

Vienna: “You are a fame whore is what you are.”

Round 3: Their life after The Bachelor
Vienna: “My impression was that you were a pilot and we were going to go back to Florida and Dallas and live a normal life. Instead, we’re in L.A. and you’re pursuing a career in acting.”

Jake: “At least I was pursuing a career in something.”

Round 4: Jake’s turn on Dancing with the Stars
Vienna: “He never acknowledged me. We were never together, ever, throughout the whole thing. I was excited to spend time with him [on the show].”

Jake: “She was excited because I put her on TV.”

Round 5: Who broke up with whom?
Vienna: “I called you and broke up with you over the phone.”

Jake: “She’s like a tabloid. You get 40 percent of the truth.”

Round 6: Who’s at fault?
Vienna: “He was always mean to me and treated me like I was a child.”

Jake: “She breaks me down, she undermines me, she’s mean . . . this is it, right here.”

Round 7: The knockout punch
Vienna: “I am sorry that I went about it the way I did. But I know you, and I knew you would have [sold your story to a tabloid] if I didn’t.”

Jake: “You don’t know me and I wouldn’t have done it . . .”

Vienna: [Interjects]

Jake: [Shouts] “Please stop interrupting me!”

Vienna: [Storms out, crying] “He is the biggest liar I’ve ever met in my life!”

Jake: “Unfortunately, that’s what one of our arguments looks like.”

Jake Pavelka Says Tearful Goodbye to Dancing with the Stars

Jake Pavelka isn’t afraid to show his emotions! The former Bachelor star gave a heartfelt goodbye to Dancing with the Stars Tuesday after fans voted him off following a flawed performance with partner Chelsie Hightower Monday.

Through tears, he admitted he never “imagined how hard it would be to say goodbye,” as his heartbroken fiancĂ©e Vienna Girardi watched from the audience.

“Right now we’re a little bummed out, but it’s okay,” a more collected Pavelka said backstage following the show.

“It’s always a little bummer when you go off the show,” Hightower agreed. “But at same time, I feel at peace because there was nothing more that we could’ve done in this competition to do well.”
Pavelka said what he’ll miss most “is the camaraderie with the other dancers,” and particularly his “best friend” Chelsea.

While toting the disco-ball trophy may not be in the stars for Pavelka, he guarantees dancing will be part of his future. “Dancing is part of me now!” he said. “The Latin dances are where my passions are.”

And Vienna better dust off her dancing shoes: Pavelka promises his future wife will join him on the dance floor soon. Until then, the couple is looking forward to some quality down time.

“I feel pretty sure that we will go to Tahiti or Hawaii and kick our feet up for a little while and focus on our relationship and just see where life takes us right after that,” Pavelka says.

Bachelor's Jilted Ex-Fiance to Join Dancing With the Stars

Well, that's one way to rebound.

Melissa Rycroft, who was famously dumped by fiancé Jason Mesnick in the most recent installment of "The Bachelor", will be next seen on "Dancing With the Stars".

A source tells People that Rycroft will be filling in for the spot left by Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell, who withdrew from the competition because of a knee injury.

Good thing Rycroft, a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, has some experience shimmying for the crowds. With the show's premiere on Monday, a production source says she only had four days to practice.

Watch the season premier of "Dancing With The Stars" at 9:00 pm (ET) tonight on ABC.

Bachelor Hunk Forced to Strip at Airport

Lt. Andy Baldwin, best known as the former Bachelor who was also a navy doctor, was at a Washington D.C. area airport recently, on his way to Nashville, when he was told to take his sweatshirt off by TSA security! Andy tells RadarOnline.com, "I had a lightweight sweatshirt on and a coat. Put my coat through x-ray, and shoes. A male TSA employee told me to take off my sweatshirt, and I said,' WHAT?' He said, 'do as I say sir!"

Andy, still enlisted with the Unites States Navy, followed orders, and took his sweatshirt off. The extremely fit triathlete didn't have a shirt on underneath. What an unexpected treat for female onlookers! Andy, sans shirt, went through security, and the machine buzzed anyway. Seems the doctor forgot he had an ipod in the pocket of his jeans.

Our favorite Bachelor couldn't catch a break, and he says at this point the female TSA employee said to her male colleague, "What are you going to do...make him take his pants off too?!" Sadly, for the swooning ladies, this wasn't the case.

Andy says he thinks after all was said and done, "It was a little strange, awkward and funny at the same time. After all that transpired I think the TSA guy was more embarrassed than I was."
