Ali Fedotowsky & Roberto Martinez Slow Down Wedding Plans

After finding love on The Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky was so excited to marry fiancé Roberto Martinez, she said she wanted to elope.

Now, while the pair are still in love, Fedotowsky no longer feels like she has to hurry down the aisle.

"We're waiting a little bit," she said at the MNG by Mango for JCPenney Launch in Manhattan Tuesday. "We really want to make sure we're doing this right."

But that pause, she says, has nothing to do with how the couple feel about each other.

"Nothing has changed – we're still just as happy as we were," explains Fedotowsky, 26. "When we were finished [with the show], we were so excited. We were like, 'Oh, we're going to get married right away.' But if you're rushing because you're in love, why rush? [Just] wait. You're going to get married any way. We're both sort of enjoying life."

And the couple, who recently moved to San Diego together, are now feeling like homebodies – even favoring possible wedding venues "somewhere on the California coast."

"We don't want to have to travel to our own wedding," she says. "We were thinking that maybe we'll want to get married, then go home for a couple days, relax and then go on our honeymoon. We just came off like a three-month-long honeymoon on The Bachelorette. We were just in Tahiti! We're tired of traveling like that."

Sources have said that at least two men from Ali Fedotowsky's season of The Bachelorette have been "in serious talks" with ABC.

Cape Cod landscaper Chris Lambton and Nashville medical salesman Ty Brown have had offers extended to them to be the next Bachelor, but neither has confirmed yet, a source says.

With the new season of The Bachelor slated to start production later next month, a source told People magazine that while producers have negotiated with both Lambton and Brown, "there may be one or two other men still under consideration."

Last season's Bachelorette garnered the franchise its highest ratings since 2004 when Trista Rehn accepted a proposal from Colorado firefighter Ryan Sutter. Wanting to build upon that, "they are reviewing all avenues carefully," the source says.

ABC and Warner Horizon, who produce The Bachelor, decline to comment on casting speculation.
"We will be making an announcement soon," a spokesperson told People.

Chris Lambton Still Considering The Bachelor

Don’t count Chris Lambton out of the upcoming season of The Bachelor just yet!

Although the Cape Cod, Massachusetts., landscaper is reportedly hesitant about continuing his search for love on reality TV, he also hasn’t completely ruled it out.

“There’s an ongoing dialogue,” Bachelor and Bachelorette host Chris Harrison told People magazine. “I was just with him this weekend in North Carolina and we talked about the show … it may be right for him, but it may not be.”

But just because Lambton is a gentleman — one who accepted Ali Fedotowsky‘s ultimate decision and wished her well — doesn’t mean he’s the perfect candidate for the show.

“You have to take aside the clamoring of millions of fans [who] want him to be the Bachelor just because they [want] to wish him well,” Harrison says. “But they don’t necessarily know what’s right for him or what’s right for the show.”

At the end of the day, it will be Lambton who needs to decide whether it’s a right fit or not. Says Harrison, “I don’t want to push him into something he’s not ready to do, or it’s not going to be right and we’ll all end up regretting [it].”

And while Lambton’s search for love on TV may still be up in the air, two other franchise alumni have found their match — and Harrison couldn’t be happier.

“I wish them the best,” he says about Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders, whom he considers family.

And though he’s received an invite for their wedding this weekend, Harrison won’t be able to make it. He’ll be hosting TV Guide’s Emmys Red Carpet with Chris Harrison on Sunday — which he’s also executive producing with his own production company, Harrison Productions.

Bachelorette‘s Ali and Roberto Moving Into San Diego Apartment

The Bachelorette winner Roberto Martinez is going the distance for new fiancée Ali Fedotowsky — literally.

The Florida native moved to San Diego three weeks ago where he will soon be joined by California-loving Fedotowsky. “I wanted to be closer to her,” Martinez said at Power Balance’s All For A Cure Charity Poker Tournament, which benefits Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, at Drai’s at the W Hollywood. “We figured the West Coast and maybe L.A. would be a little bit much and [San Diego] is a bit removed but still close. It’s a good place.”

While picking a new home, Fedotowsky and Martinez practiced an essential part of being a couple: compromise. She had a say in the apartment complex but let him pick the place. “The condo that I’m staying in in San Jose is owed by the same company so I knew what kind of apartments they had would be nice,” she explains, “and I trusted him to pick out something.”

There is one thing that may become an issue for the new nesters, who decided on a one-bedroom apartment, and that’s closet space. “I realize how much clothes I have now,” Fedotowsky says. “Normally, I seriously could fit all my clothes in one suitcase but now, after the show and going to so many events, I have so much clothes.”

Despite having their courtship play out on The Bachelorette, the couple are keeping their official move-in date a secret. “I don’t want to give away exactly when,” she says. “We’ve been followed [by paparazzi] quite a bit. [It will be] sometime very soon.”

Bachelorette: Ali & Roberto Want a Spring Wedding

Now that she’s no longer the Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky has a wedding to plan — and she’s on a time crunch if she wants to make it down the aisle before next summer.

“In the spring, we’re thinking,” the star of The Bachelorette said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night when asked about when she’d like to marry her new fiancé, Roberto Martinez, who proposed with a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring on Monday’s finale.

While their wedding will likely be a big event — “Her mom wants like 700 people,” Martinez said — the couple already extended an invitation to a VIP guest, and we’re not talking about Chris Harrison. When asked by Kimmel if they’d invite President Obama, who was not invited to Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding, and his family, Fedotowsky replied, “Absolutely, if they’ll come.”

The couple have only had limited time since the finale taped about three months ago — spending five days together for every 10 days apart, they said, because of demands of the show. But they found some “weird” ways to keep each other entertained while they spent time in seclusion. “We played games,” Fedotowsky said. “We made up handshakes.”

“I learned how I was supposed to eat popcorn,” Martinez added.

And although reality TV romances don’t always have fairytale endings, Fedotowsky and her man are not concerned: “We have so much faith in our relationship,” she says. “Every day we tell each other, ‘You’re my priority. We’re going to put each other first.’ ”

By agreeing to be this season’s Bachelorette, Ali sacrificed her job, moved out of her apartment and abandoned life as she knew it. “I wanted to risk it all for love,” says Ali, who had to decide if either of her final two suitors — landscaper Chris Lambton, 33, and insurance agent Roberto Martinez, 26 — were right for her.

“They’re both great guys,” Ali said on Monday’s season finale, acknowledging that each man has nothing but the best to offer her. “But I need to pick who’s right for me.”

And she did! The risk paid off and Ali, 25, accepted Roberto’s marriage proposal in Bora Bora. It was apparent as she had her final date with him that she was truly smitten. After an adventure-filled day of jet-skiing, wading among a school of stingrays and picnicking on a private beach, the two shared passionate kisses as they lay in each other’s arms that night.

“I love Roberto,” Fedotowsky confessed, saying to the camera that despite having a date planned with Chris the next day, she didn’t want to say goodbye.

The following morning, Ali showed up for her date with Chris, but instead of going on an island adventure, she gently broke the news to him that he was not the one. “I’m in love with somebody else,” she said. “I have to let you go here and not wait till tomorrow.” Ali explained that she didn’t want Chris to have to go through the motions of showing up the next day to propose.

Chris, a true gentleman, wished Ali well. “Good luck tomorrow,” he said. “Go find out if he loves you, alright? You’re easy to love.” After giving Fedotowsky several more emotional embraces, he said goodbye.

Chris respected Ali’s honesty, and confessed, “As much as this situation hurts, I want to see her happy.”

The next day, all of the season’s drama went away when Roberto showed up to face Ali, who waited in a strapless yellow gown. “I’m one-hundred percent certain with all of my heart that Roberto is the man for me,” she said. “I can only hope that he feels the same way.”

He did.

Clearly wanting the moment to be special, Roberto took time to express his feelings. “You told me how important it was for your husband to love you unconditionally and to always be by your side no matter what,” he said. “I want to be that man for you. I want to make you laugh. I want to make you smile. I want to make sure you wake up every morning for the rest of your life knowing that you are so, so loved.”

“You’re the only guy here today,” Ali told him. “I love you so much.”

“I want to grow old with you,” Roberto said. “I want to share my life my life with you. Share my life with me?”

Then, he got down on one knee and pulled a Neil Lane engagement ring out of his pocket, opened the box and asked the million dollar question, “Ali Fedotowsky, will you marry me?”

“Oh my gosh! Yes! Yes!” she said. The two embraced and shared a long kiss before Ali remembered she had one final obligation. Picking up the last rose of the season, she looked into Roberto’s eyes and asked, “Aceptarías esta rosa?”

“Sí!” Roberto said, accepting the rose, before whisking her away in his arms.
