Rosie O'Donnell has received the all clear after undergoing biopsies to determine whether two lumps in her breasts were cancerous.

The A League of Their Own actress, 48, feared she was facing a battle with the killer disease after doctors found worrying shadows during a routine Mri (magnetic resonance imaging) scan.

She underwent biopsies on both breasts earlier this month and was thrilled when she received a text message giving her the all-clear.

On a blog update entitled Cancer Free, the star writes, "A two word text/and everything changes/thank you/amen."

O'Donnell's own mother died of breast cancer aged just 39.

Rosie O'Donnell fears she might be facing a battle with cancer, the comedienne revealed on her blog Monday. She tells friends and fans in her update that doctors found two lumps in her breasts last Wednesday and she's currently getting both biopsied.

O'Donnell spoke to Extra TV and confessed she's scared she might have the same disease that killed her mom, the Toronto Sun reports. The TV personality's mother died of breast cancer at age 39, four days before O'Donnell's 11th birthday.

In her blog Monday, O'Donnell said the doctors told her it's "probably nothing." She also said that the second biopsy will be done Monday. Results are due later this week.

This isn't O'Donnell's first cancer scare: the actress revealed in her blog that she had a lump removed when she was 30.

Three years after leaving The View, Rosie O’Donnell is coming back to daytime television by teaming up with OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network for her own daily talk show.

“Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years,” Winfrey, 56, said Thursday in a statement. “She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does.”

The show, according to OWN, will be “fun” and “uplifting” with O’Donnell’s “playful and energetic style.”

“It’s an honor and privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her network,” says O’Donnell, 48, who will produce the show, which will premiere in 2011 and be based in New York.

O’Donnell, who had her own Emmy-winning show from 1996 to 2002, hasn’t exactly been low-key since her departure from The View. Along with her blog, she’s also hosted her own daily Sirius XM radio show since last fall.

In January, she debuted her HBO documentary A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O’Donnell Celebration, which highlights different family dynamics.

Daytime TV is about to get Rosier: Rosie O'Donnell is planning to develop a new talk show, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

O'Donnell is targeting Fall 2011 for the debut of her new vehicle – around the same time that Oprah Winfrey will take her final bow on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The comedian, 48, is no stranger to the daytime airwaves. The talk show vet hosted the Emmy-winning Rosie O'Donnell Show for six years before her gig on The View.

Since last fall, O'Donnell has been reaching fans via her daily, two-hour show on Sirius XM Radio called "Rosie Radio." But she never abandoned TV altogether: In January, she debuted her HBO documentary A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration, which highlights different family dynamics.

Rosie O'Donnell: 'A Family is Forever'

The red carpet is an unusual spot to hang out with your ex – unless you're Rosie O'Donnell. Last week, at the New York City premiere of her documentary A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration, the comedian happily posed for photos alongside her four children – and Kelli Carpenter, her partner of 10 years whom O'Donnell only recently revealed she'd separated from in 2007.

"What makes a family is love, and we all love each other," O'Donnell, 47, told People Magazine. "We're gonna stay together and take care of each other as a family unit."

The definition of a family is at the heart of the comedian's documentary, which premieres this Sunday on HBO at 7 pm ET and features interviews with kids who come from all different types of families: ones headed up by a mom and a dad, two moms, two dads, as well as a mother and a grandmother. Adoption and surrogacy are also discussed.

"It's just children telling the truth about how they live and how it is for them," says O'Donnell.

A Family also includes new songs by artists including Ziggy Marley and They Might Be Giants, covering everything from love to in-vitro fertilization.

Adjustments and Challenges

O'Donnell says she was inspired by the popular 1970s album and TV special Free To Be … You and Me, created by Marlo Thomas. "We took that model and just applied it to family instead of equal rights," explains O'Donnell.

The comedian herself appears briefly in the documentary with her daughter Vivienne, 7 (her other kids Parker, 14, Chelsea, 12, and Blake, 10, are seen in video footage), and addresses her split with Carpenter. She also acknowledges how it's "difficult for families to adjust and changes are challenging." (Her next documentary, she reveals, will tackle divorce.)

These days, the exes live near each other in Nyack, N.Y. – Carpenter also has an apartment in New York City – and are raising the kids "equally," says O'Donnell, who hosts "Rosie Radio" on Sirius XM. (She also penned the forward to the upcoming book The Sound of Hope by Lois Kam Heymann, a speech-language pathologist. Heymann has worked with Blake, who has auditory processing disorder, a learning disability.)

Adds O'Donnell, "You have to really look at the four kids and realize that family is forever, which we both believe and it makes it a little bit easier."

Her family may be expanding, too: She says her girlfriend Texas-based artist Tracy Kachtick-Anders, 45, is "hopefully moving to Nyack" with her six children, ages 6 to 18.

"Our group of kids together is like the Brady Bunch on steroids," O'Donnell jokes. "Or the Gay-dy Bunch."

Promoting the heck out of her upcoming HBO special "A Family is a Family is a Family," Rosie was on The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday speaking about the topics we all want to know about including her split from Kelli Carpenter, pictured with Rosie and their four kids last week at the documentary’s premiere.

On her split with Kelli Carpenter: “I think that what you want at 30 … is very different than what you want when you’re 40. A lot of things sort of changed and shifted. … [Post-split Rosie] wanted her in the same town. she was like, ‘I don’t know how good that’s gonna be for me.’ Like, what are you saying? You can’t exist – okay. Calm down. Breathe. Everything’s okay. … Although we co-parent, we share equal time but are never really without them. Some are here. And that’s the way we did it. It’s free-flowing, and we do nights together, too.”

“To be held up as some sort of role model for the gay community, I felt some sort of pressure. … Sometimes divorce happens. … It was a difficult thing to get through. It was the most difficult thing in my life.”

New love Tracy Kachtick-Anders: who has six children of her own. “”So she got out of the car in Miami and I was, like, zoinks, you know, because she’s absolutely gorgeous and, I don’t know, I felt like I knew her right away. It was very odd.”

She also says they plan to move in together in the near future and combine their families.

On a backstage blow-up with Barbara Walters: “For me at that moment, if I had been braver, I would have just cried and said you really hurt my feelings. … I think I scared her. I’m 200 pounds, when I stand up and say ‘do you not have a human heart?’ it’s crazy.”

On televised fight with Elisabeth Hasselbeck: She acted “different on TV than in the dressing room. It was a betrayal of my friendship.”

Rosie O'Donnell's 'divorce' from longtime partner Kelli Carpenter was smooth and drama-free because neither partner wanted to fight and lose touch with each other.

The A League of Their Own star insists women can always find a way to split graciously because they always want what's best for everyone involved.

O'Donnell split from Carpenter in 2008 and it was over a year before news of the break-up hit the headlines - and the former chat show host puts that down to the fact both she and her ex wanted to work it all out amicably.

She says, "We tried very hard to make it work in different configurations... It's not really the same paradigm as heterosexual divorce. It's different.

"I'm not trying to say it's (lesbian divorce) better... Women usually, in relationships, that emotional connection is really the most intense, and so when they break up, I have found, they stay connected.

"Every woman I've ever been with, besides one, is still in my life."

Appearing on the Oprah show on Monday, O'Donnell revealed she split from Carpenter because the two were drifting apart.

She says, "What you want and need at 30, which is when I met Kelli... is very different to what you want and need at 40 and 45, and in some ways we both came back to our authentic selves and who were were... wasn't as great of a match."

Explaining that Carpenter "lives nearby," O'Donnell also says that is still "not close enough. I wanted her to live in the same town, and she was, like, 'I don't know how good that's gonna be for me.' Like, what are you saying? You can't exist – okay. Calm down. Breathe. Everything's okay."

"So are you gonna move to live together?" asks Winfrey.

"Yes," says O'Donnell. "Can you imagine?"

"No," says Winfrey.

"I know," says O'Donnell. "A lot of people can't."

And since no interview with O'Donnell would be complete without touching upon her abrupt departure from The View in 2007, O'Donnell tells Winfrey that when it came to confronting her boss Barbara Walters: "And for me at that moment, if I had been braver, I would have just cried and said you really hurt my feelings."

Rosie O'Donnell Considers Fostering Haiti Orphan

Rosie O'Donnell wants to help aid efforts following the Haiti earthquake - by looking after orphaned children while rescuers search for survivors of the disaster.

The actress-turned-radio and TV personality and former partner Kelli Carpenter have three adopted children and one daughter, who was conceived through artificial insemination.

And O'Donnell, who is now dating mother-of-six Tracy Kachtick-Anders, would consider helping survivors of last week's tragedy, by inviting a Haiti orphan into her home while rescue efforts continue.

She tells Access Hollywood, "I’d like to see everybody give. I’d like to see celebrities give too. I think it’s a great thing. George Clooney is an amazing, philanthropic man... I know my family would be able to take a child or a brother and sister in and foster and love the child until either family or relatives can be found.”

She may be hosting a Sirius radio show each day and have a new girlfriend, but Rosie O’Donnell is still finding the time to flex her acting chops.

According to www.Playbill.com, Rosie (pictured with Natasha Lyon, Elaine Stritch and Christine Ebersole) will be appearing at the Westside Theatre in March with Lyon, Fran Drescher and Didi Conn in Off-Broadway’s "Love, Loss and What I Wore."

The production is an intimate collection of stories that uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that woman can relate to. This collection of stories and monologues is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman.

Rosie’s stage credits include the Broadway revival of Grease, Seussical, and Fiddler on the Roof as well as a Broadway Encores production of No, No Nanette.

The new couple was spotted holding hands during a day out last month and now O'Donnell admits the fuss about her love life has been strange and a little disconcerting.

During her Rosie Radio show on Monday, O'Donnell said, "Did anybody hear I have a new girlfriend...? I felt like Madonna for a moment. Truthfully, I’m not really that kind of famous where people follow me.

"It’s only happened to me when I’ve been with Madonna to tell you the truth... or when I went... to (music executive) Tommy Mottola’s wedding... because he married Talia, this huge star in Latin America. Going into that wedding was like nothing that I have ever experienced before in my life.

"Aside from Madonna, everyone else I know who’s famous doesn’t really think they’re as famous as they are, including me. I had no idea that it (new romance) would be on CNN... It’s odd for me... and quite odd for Tracy."

The pair were spotted walking hand-in-hand in Miami Beach on Tuesday.

Last month, when asked if she was enjoying the single life, O'Donnell, 47, said, "I'm not. But on we grow, so to speak."

Like O'Donnell, Kachtick-Anders is active in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parenting and adoption issues. She launched Open Arms Campaign, a non-profit organization to recruit and foster adoptive families that targets the LGBT community. "I have become an activist and work to educate everyone, not only about the plight of foster children," she wrote on TheRainbowBabies.com, "but also the inequality that faces LGBT people in their quest to create families." Kachtick-Anders has six children, five of whom are adopted, according to the Examiner.com.

Rosie O'Donnell Does Not Enjoy Being Single

Living single is less than rosy for Rosie O'Donnell.

"I'm not [enjoying the single life]," O'Donnell said on Monday at Rosie's Broadway Extravaganza annual gala. "But on we grow, so to speak."

Earlier this month, O'Donnell revealed on her SIRIUS Satellite radio show that her longtime partner Kelli Carpenter had moved out two years ago.

Accompanied at the gala by her son Parker, 15, the former View co-host side-stepped other questions regarding her personal life but says that through everything, her four kids are doing "very well."

Her friend Judy Gold says O'Donnell waited two years to let the public know of the split because of her children. "She has the kids," said Gold. "I think she's entitled to her private life and that’s what it is, private."

Although O'Donnell may not enjoy being single, Gold said that "Ro" is getting by just fine: "She seems happy and grounded. She's in the drivers seat here."

O'Donnell's annual Broadway Extravaganza, held in New York City, is a fundraiser for her arts education organization, Rosie's Kids.

Rosie Admits Partner Kelli Moved Out Two Years Ago

Rosie O'Donnell may have said last month that she was done commenting on breakup rumors dogging her relationship with her partner of five years, Kelli Carpenter, but that changed Friday.

On her Sirius Satellite radio show, O'Donnell suddenly admitted Carpenter had moved out of their home two years ago. The reason for the big reveal? A pressing psychic and a long-haired chihuahua.

"Where did you get her from Rosie? Because she says she came from somewhere. And she said she’s happier with you," pet psychic Sonya Fitzpatrick said of O'Donnell's dog Misty. "She's so spoiled and she loves to burrow."

O'Donnell confirmed: "She does! She burrows in the bed right next to me."

And, when asked who "sometimes looks after her," O'Donnell explained her four children all fight over caring for the pup, which she got three days after Carpenter left. "What happened [was] when Kelli moved out two years ago, I got the dog. Because I wanted another child or something to love. And I got the dog."

On October 20th, O'Donnell told USA Today, "We're a family, we remain a family ... Kelli and I love each other very much, and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties."

Rosie O'Donnell Opens Up About Love Split

Rosie O'Donnell has spoken out about her split from partner Kelli Carpenter, a week after reports suggested the pair was living apart.

The actress and TV personality appeared on DJ Howard Stern's radio show on Monday to talk candidly about her personal problems, admitting she and Carpenter were "working through a lot of the stuff that we have".

She added, "We have come to a point where we are seeing (if) what will make everyone happiest is maybe to not live together, but continue to parent. We have different styles of living. I’m very messy. She’s very not."

But when Stern pried into the exact cause of the split, O'Donnell insisted the separation had nothing to do with sex, stating, "Kelli and I have a lot of issues and sex wasn't one of them."

Carpenter, who wed O'Donnell in 2004, reportedly moved out of the couple's home with the pair's youngest child.

Last week, O'Donnell released a statement about the split, which read, "We're a family, we remain a family and we're working on the issues. Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues.

"Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties. But everything's fine and everybody's good and we're still both raising them (their children) together. We will both continue to parent them and we're friendly and everything's all right."

The gay actress and TV personality has revealed Jolie once gave her her telephone number and the odd couple chatted, but the relationship never went any further.

In a radio chat with DJ Howard Stern on Monday, O'Donnell recalled, "We talked on the phone two or three times, but that was that. There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through.

"I was a little afraid of her. She’s scary in a sexual kind of way."

But she has never been able to get Jolie out of her mind: "I have dreams about her a lot still."

The Changeling star reportedly experimented with her sexuality before she wed Thornton - actress/model Jenny Shimizu has often claimed she was involved in a romance with the star a decade ago.

Rosie O'Donnell Acknowledges Issues with Spouse

Rose O'Donnell says that she and her spouse of five years, Kelli Carpenter, are undergoing rough patch in their relationship – and passes up a chance to refute speculation that Carpenter has moved out of their home in Nyack, N.Y., and into an apartment in Manhattan.

"We're a family. We will remain a family forever. And we are working on our issues," O'Donnell, 47, tells USA Today in an interview conducted Tuesday.

"Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues," a tearful O'Donnell says, emphasizing that the couple's four children are "a priority." "Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties. But everything's fine and everybody's good and we're still both raising them together. We will both continue to parent them and we're friendly and everything's all right."

When asked about the reports that Carpenter, 42, had moved, O'Donnell simply repeated her first statement.

"We're a family, we remain a family and we're working on the issues," she said again.

The interview took place in O'Donnell's home in the suburbs of New York, and Carpenter was not present.

Rosie O'Donnell Likes Ellen as New Idol Judge

When Rosie O’Donnell was asked what she thought of Ellen DeGeneres being selected to replace Paula Abdul as a judge on American Idol, you didn’t expect anything less than an honest answer did you?

“I think she’ll be very good at that show,” Rosie told Access Hollywood as she ventured out for Fashion’s Night Out in New York City on Thursday evening.

”’[She’ll be] much better than Paula who was often incoherent,’ she said, causing another feud,” Rosie said, referring to her own headline-grabbing statement in the third person.

Well, I know there are lots of Paula fans but I gotta say that watching her try and put a sentence together was painful. Some kind of change was needed and Ellen will at the very least be articulate.

As for Rosie, we can expect lots more headlines from the outspoken former moderator of The View as she prepares to host her own radio show on SIRIUS XM this fall.

Rosie added that she could never imagine herself as a judge on the show: “It’s all the way out in LA, No. 1. And No. 2, I could never really say anything mean to those kids trying.”

She also stopped watching the show a few years ago anyway: “I kind of went off a little on ‘American Idol’ when they started making fun of the mentally challenged kids a few years ago. I didn’t really enjoy that. Haven’t really watched it since.”

Rep Denies Rosie O'Donnell and Partner are Splitting

Contrary to tabloid reports, Rosie O'Donnell and longtime partner Kelli Carpenter-O'Donnell are not breaking up, the TV personality and comedian's rep told People.

"There is no truth to this – at all," says O'Donnell's rep.

Reports have surfaced that the couple, who got married in 2004 and have four children together, split up a few months ago and have been living separately.

"This is ridiculous," says the rep. "I get this rumor every time Rosie travels for work. Right now she is on tour with Cyndi Lauper."

O'Donnell, 47, and Carpenter, 42, "are raising four children – together," adds the rep.

Rosie O'Donnell Heads Back to the Air – on Radio

Heading back to the air in a brand new setting, Rosie O'Donnell will be heard and not seen. The familiar TV face is launching her own daily, two-hour show for Sirius XM Radio this fall, to be called – what else? – Rosie Radio.

O'Donnell says that the deal came through after she yakked on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show earlier this year.

"He's been very encouraging," O'Donnell, 47, said about the shock jock, the Associated Press reports. "After I did his show, they called and asked if I was interested. I don't really listen to radio, so I started thinking about it and listening. I asked if they could possibly do it at my house because that would really make it convenient for me with four kids, and they said yes, so I was like, 'Wow. Let's try that.' "

Essentially off the air as far as a regular gig was concerned after her headline-making departure from ABC's The View in 2007, O'Donnell will host her new show from a recording facility currently under construction inside the guesthouse on the New York property she shares with partner Kelli Carpenter and their four children.

A Call-In Show

"I think it'll be good for me," O'Donnell says of the new venture. "I've been lucky. I've had seven years of early retirement. All my kids are in school now, so all day long I have nothing to do. This was the first year that they were all in school all day, and I found myself very bored. I was saying to Kelli, we either need to get another kid or I'll have to go back to work."

Once it starts up in the fall, Rosie Radio will air Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET (7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m, PT) on SIRIUS XM Stars, SIRIUS channel 102 and XM channel 155.

Sirius is already home to Oprah Radio, Martha Stewart Living Radio and O'Donnell's former View mentor and tormentor, Barbara Walters. And, yes, Rosie will take phonecalls.
