Jamie Foxx: I'm Not Gay (and I Could Eat Pizza in a Male Shower)

Late last week Jamie Foxx denied he's gay in response to suggestions made earlier in the week by fellow Sirius radio host Howard Stern. The two radio hosts are in the midst of an on-air war.

Said Stern of Foxx earlier last week: "He seems to be in some bizarre thing where he wants to start in with me so that he can get some attention for his channel on the Foxxhole, which is an interesting name too. The hole. I wonder which hole they're referring to? How many holes are in Jamie? He's got an ass and a mouth. I don't know what he does with them...I gotta sh*tload of stuff on Jamie which isn't a lot of fun...even the name change to Foxx, it's interesting that he chose the name 'Jamie,' I could get into the whole f***ing thing...My guess is we're probably not on the same team. I think he's playing for a way different team. I don't know what team he's on but it ain't my team."

Said Foxx on Friday: "I'm not gay...A lot of people say that I'm gay and that doesn't bother me, because I could eat a pizza in a male shower and not feel anything because I'm secure with myself. And I'm not gonna take that, Coward Stern. I'm not gonna take that from a person who has chronic gonorrhea."

Simon Cowell: My Replacement Has to Be Good-Looking

Simon Cowell may be leaving American Idol after the current season but don’t think he doesn’t care about who his replacement will be. In a conference call Thursday with reporters, Cowell talked about who is right for his job, the rumors that he and Ellen DeGeneres are squabbling and why he thinks Lady Gaga should mentor the latest crop of Idol hopefuls.

There have been rumors that you and Ellen DeGeneres aren’t getting along. Could you address them?
I wouldn’t say that we didn’t get on well. I don’t know Ellen that well. It was a difficult position for her because she started work on the Hollywood week, which is quite a difficult show to do. There was one story I read that [said] I turned up an hour late for something and that she wanted to film. The truth was I think I turned up 15 or 20 minutes late because I did a press conference earlier in the day. And they did start filming, but that wasn’t a particular problem. There was no fall out. I was trying to guide her through the week and that was it really.

What do you miss most about Paula Abdul?
Well Paula is my friend, amazingly, even though we used to argue a lot. She was somebody I got really close to over the years. We’d hang out together after the show. She always made me laugh. I always thought she was funny. It was just like not having your friend on the show anymore, so I do miss her.

What does it feel like to have people say that you’re irreplaceable?
It’s very, very flattering. I really do appreciate it. Like I said before, the show goes on. I’m going to feel sad when it all ends.

What kind of person could replace you?
You have to be good looking. Secondly, you have to know what you’re talking about. I’m starting to realize with these shows that you have to put people on that actually know what they’re talking about. Rather than guessing, they really have to have experience, so that you cannot just criticize — you can offer constructive advice as well.

How much music experience is required for the judging job?
I think it’s really important. When we first started we had a record producer, an artist and an A&R man. So you’ve covered pretty much everything. I would say someone who has had managerial experience is always helpful. But in simplistic terms if you’re going to give a score you generally need to know what you’re talking about. I think over the years judges have been replaced by personalities. That in the long term will create problems because you’ve got to be able to spot a star. So whoever replaces me, my advice has always been find somebody who actually knows what they’re talking about.

How does that apply to Howard Stern?
He doesn’t seem to fit any of the criteria. He’s played records. Maybe that’s a good qualification — that he’s played records and is a DJ. But he obviously wants the job. Good luck to him.

You’ve said people need to be seasoned in the music business to be a judge. Are those comments directed at Ellen?
I was thinking that … people are going to misinterpret what I’m saying. I’ll tell you why I think Ellen is a good choice. She actually is very responsible for the people who perform on her show. I know that for a fact because I’ve dealt with her as a record label. She loves music and she’s been an artist. No it wasn’t meant to dis her credentials. It was specifically talking about my replacement because my role on the show is as someone who has run a successful record label. So that was specifically for my replacement.

Is it important that a woman win this year?
Depends what she’s like. We’ve had a few years now of guys winning the show. I would say that it’s definitely a better chance of a girl winning the show this year.

What would be the right type of woman to win?
You want somebody who represents what’s going on at the moment. I’d love to find a Taylor Swift … somebody who is relevant rather than just a contest winner.

What mentors are you hoping to work with during the season?
We should have Lady Gaga because she is the most relevant pop artist in the world at the moment. She’s very smart. I like her.

Simon Cowell: Howard Stern Not 'Idol' Material

Add Simon Cowell to the list of people not thrilled with the rumor that Howard Stern could fill his spot on 'American Idol.'

Stern doesn't have the experience to sit in his seat the exiting judge Cowell said yesterday.

"You've just got to know what you're talking about," Cowell said, according to the Daily News. "We have to have people on these shows who actually know what they're talking about, rather than just guessing. They've really got to have experience, so that they can not just criticize, but offer constructive advice as well."

Cowell was "fairly certain" Stern hasn't been approached by 'Idol' producers to fill the spot when he leaves the show to host his own 'X Factor' show. The Stern 'Idol' rumor has run rampant on the Internet and has been partially fanned by the talk show host himself.

Cowell also said Madonna would not make a great replacement due to time commitments. Cowell said he doesn't think a big name like Madonna could manage that.

"The good news for [the producers] is that there's no shortage of candidates," Cowell said.

All in all, he wouldn't pick a favorite to take the spot as America's favorite music truth-teller.

"You're never going to pick anyone as good as you are, are you?" Cowell joked. "That's why I don't think anybody [at Fox] really asks me that question."

Howard Stern says 'F'ing Maybe' to 'American Idol'

The Howard Stern 'American Idol' rumors are no longer just rumors. On Monday the shock jock addressed the situation on his radio show, saying he'd accept a seat in the judges' booth for the right price.

"They'd have to pay me a ton of dough because I already make a ton of dough," Stern said on Monday. That wasn't all he said, though it was probably the least offensive thing that came out of his mouth...

Rumors that Stern would take Simon Cowell's soon vacant seat emerged last week after the New York Post ran a story suggesting he is Fox's first choice for the position.

'American Idol' is "one of the few shows that could compete with Stern's $100 million a year Sirius contract," a source told the paper. "'Idol' bosses think he'd be even nastier than Simon."

Howard proved just how nasty he could be on the air on Monday, claiming he would "tase" Ellen DeGeneres if she does that "dumb dance" she does on her show, and "smack Randy Jackson's belly every time he opens his dopey mouth."

"For $100 million a year, to judge a karaoke contest? Ok. Why not?" he said.

One reason he might not take the job is that he's notoriously afraid to fly. He told listeners that he turned down an invitation to appear during Conan O'Brien's last week at the 'Tonight Show' because he didn't want to book a flight to Los Angeles.

But money talks. Not that Fox will shell out $100 million to secure The King of All Media. Cowell makes about half that for his work as a judge. But Howard knows he's just might be worth it.

"Name a person who could bring more excitement to that show than me," he said.

Certainly, the show would be a different 'American Idol' than the one we're used to with Howard at the helm.

"First of all, I would have straightened out that Adam Lambert," he said. "The kid had more publicity than anyone and he f---ed up. And Number 2, I wouldn't even put through that good looking kid who won, that Kris Allen. He never would have even been through."

Howard had sharp words for season 3's winner Fantasia, as well - though he may have been mistaking her for someone else.

"Hey Fantasia... Little boys are scared that you are going to sit on them. You're out. Honey, you look like you stepped out of a Haitian earthquake. You've got to go clean up your act."

But Howard isn't all hater all the time.

"I like that song," Stern said of Larry Platt's "Pants on the Ground."

"He'd be in Hollywood right now, that guy."

Is Howard Stern the Next American Idol Judge?

American Idol may have found a new mean judge!

According to the New York Post, show producers are in talks to convince controversy lover Howard Stern to take the job of outgoing judge Simon Cowell.

Stern is FOX’s first choice to take over Cowell’s role, an insider tells the paper. “Idol bosses think he’d be even nastier than Simon,” a source says. “They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants.”

But a second source says that the top-earning radio personality is having commitment issues, since an Idol deal would involve touring the country for auditions and being in Los Angeles for much of the year.

“Howard isn’t ready to leave radio and would like to stay on at Sirius,” the source says. “We believe this is a ploy to make Sirius pay up and keep him on his huge contract.”

Stern, who makes $100 million a year, has repeatedly said on air that his Sirius XM Radio deal ends next January and he’s considering other offers.

Rosie O'Donnell Opens Up About Love Split

Rosie O'Donnell has spoken out about her split from partner Kelli Carpenter, a week after reports suggested the pair was living apart.

The actress and TV personality appeared on DJ Howard Stern's radio show on Monday to talk candidly about her personal problems, admitting she and Carpenter were "working through a lot of the stuff that we have".

She added, "We have come to a point where we are seeing (if) what will make everyone happiest is maybe to not live together, but continue to parent. We have different styles of living. I’m very messy. She’s very not."

But when Stern pried into the exact cause of the split, O'Donnell insisted the separation had nothing to do with sex, stating, "Kelli and I have a lot of issues and sex wasn't one of them."

Carpenter, who wed O'Donnell in 2004, reportedly moved out of the couple's home with the pair's youngest child.

Last week, O'Donnell released a statement about the split, which read, "We're a family, we remain a family and we're working on the issues. Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues.

"Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties. But everything's fine and everybody's good and we're still both raising them (their children) together. We will both continue to parent them and we're friendly and everything's all right."
