Garry Marshall Serious About Laverne & Shirley Remake

Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall is taking Jamie Foxx's advice and pushing forward with a movie remake of his hit TV sitcom Laverne & Shirley with new best pals Jessica Biel and Jennifer Garner in the title roles.

The actresses became bosom buddies on the set of Marshall's new film Valentine's Day, prompting their co-star to suggest they'd be perfect for a Laverne & Shirley remake.

And Marshall admits he's committed to making the movie, which will feature cameos from his sister Penny and Cindy Williams - the original Laverne & Shirley.

He says, "We're gonna work on that. My sister Penny and Cindy are going to be a guest cameo (sic)."

And Garner can't wait to work with her new best friend: "Are you kidding? We're dying to do it."

"Valentine's Day" Woos All-Star Cast

Roberts and Anne Hathaway are among the all-star cast lining up for the romantic comedy "Valentine's Day," to be directed by Garry Marshall.

Joining them in final negotiations to star in the movie are Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher.

The New Line film's five slightly interconnecting stories play out during a Valentine's Day in Los Angeles:

* Roberts is an army officer on leave from Iraq on a flight to Los Angeles. Cooper, on the same flight, is a gay man whose lover is a closeted football player.

* Kutcher is an owner of a flower shop who proposes to his girlfriend (Alba), only to realize he is in love with his close friend, played by Garner, who discovers her boyfriend is married.

* MacLaine plays Roberts' mother, a happy retiree who reveals to her husband a long-ago affair.

* Hathaway is an assistant working at the biggest talent agency in town and dating a mailroom assistant; Biel is a publicist unlucky in love who has no date on Valentine's Day.

Major roles still to be cast are the gay football player, MacLaine's husband, the mailroom worker, a talent agent and a young boy looking to give his crush some flowers.

Katherine Fugate wrote the initial draft, and the latest version of the script is by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein.

It's a Girl for Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck!

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have welcomed their second daughter, People.com confirms exclusively.

The actress's rep says: "Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck gave birth to a healthy baby girl." The baby was born Tuesday in Los Angeles. No other details were immediately available.

Garner and Affleck, both 36, are also parents to daughter Violet, 3.

In the weeks leading up to the birth, Garner, stayed close to home, picking up Violet from preschool and even treating herself to a mani-pedi. Just days before giving birth, Garner was spotted with Violet at the Farmer's Market in Pacific Palisades and grabbing a decaf coffee at Caffe Luxxe in Santa Monica with a girlfriend.

Former Alias costar and close friend Victor Garber says the actress needs no help in the mommy department. "It's her second child," Garber told People. "She knows what to do. She's probably the best mother I've ever witnessed."
