Kate Hudson is reportedly in talks to play porn icon Linda Lovelace in a new biopic.
The Hollywood actress, who is currently pregnant with her second child, is said to have been offered the title role in a film adaptation of Eric Danville's book The Complete Linda Lovelace.
James Franco is in negotiations to play pornographer Chuck Traynor opposite Hudson, according to www.Deadline.com.
The movie will go up against a rival Lovelace project called Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, which initially saw Lindsay Lohan cast in the title role before she was replaced by Malin Akerman due to her ongoing personal problems.
Anne Hathaway has reason to purr: She's landed the coveted role of Catwoman in the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises.
Hathaway, 28, will play Selina Kyle, whose other identity is Catwoman, and will join Christian Bale, who reprising his turn as Batman. Also joining the cast: Inception's Tom Hardy, who will play the villain Bane.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," director Christopher Nolan said in a press release, according to Deadline Hollywood, which also reports that Keira Knightley ,Rachel Weisz, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman were also vying for the role.
In the meantime, Hathaway's next big role will be as co-host of the Academy Awards with James Franco.
James Franco has played a good number of gay roles, most recently in the movies Milk and Howl—where he portrayed Harvey Milk’s longtime boyfriend Scott Smith and poet Allen Ginsberg, respectively. As a result, he’s faced a lot of questions about his own sexual orientation.
The actor, who told The Advocate last summer that he is straight, is now raising eyebrows by suggesting otherwise in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“There are lots of other reasons to be interested in gay characters than wanting myself to go out and have sex with guys,” Franco tells Entertainment Weekly. “And there are also lots of other aspects about these characters that I’m interested in, in addition to their sexuality. So, in some ways it’s coincidental, in other ways it’s not. I mean, I’ve played a gay man who’s living in the ‘60s and ‘70s, a gay man who we depicted in the ‘50s, and one being in the ‘20s. And those were all periods when to be gay, at least being gay in public, was much more difficult. Part of what I’m interested in is how these people who were living anti-normative lifestyles contended with opposition. Or, you know what, maybe I’m just gay.”

In 2010, James Franco has been the gift that keeps on giving, and this time it comes in form of male prostitution. In a televised interview with James Lipton for 'Inside the Actors Studio,' Franco reflects on the time when, researching a role, he ended up watching a gigolo have sex with a man.
"I found this guy that was kind of a perfect model," Franco said. "He claimed to service both males and females. He took me on one of his jobs."
At the time, Franco was studying for his role in 'Sonny,' where he played a male prostitute. To get a grasp for the part, Franco shadowed a gigolo in the back of a strip club, but things went a little further than he anticipated.
Sonny was released in 2002 and is currently available on DVD.
"The guy said, 'Oh, you wanna play a prostitute? You want some real research? Then come with us,'" Franco recalls. "It went down. Everything went down, as you see in the movies and hear about. The eerie thing is, it was like a movie, but it wasn't a movie -- it was the real thing, happening in front of me."
When asked what turns Franco on, the actor admitted to having strange furry temptations, saying, "Sometimes rabbits, like, turn me on. I don't know why."

Hollywood's biggest night is getting a double-dose of talent.
James Franco and Anne Hathaway will serve as co-hosts for the 83rd annual Academy Awards, producers confirmed Monday.
Franco has earned critical raves for his latest film, 127 Hours, the real-life story of outdoorsman Aron Ralston who cut off part of his arm after getting it stuck under a boulder. The actor's resume includes diverse roles in Eat, Pray, Love, General Hospital, Milk and Pineapple Express.
Hathaway's newest project is the much-hyped Love and Other Drugs in which she costars with Jake Gyllenhaal. She also showed off her singing and dancing chops when she performed a musical number with Hugh Jackman when he hosted the Oscars two years ago.
"James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons – fresh, exciting and multi-talented," Oscar telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer said Monday.
The Oscars air live on ABC from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center on February 27th.
James Franco is set to stun fans when new transgender magazine Candy goes on sale - he poses in drag on the cover.
The Milk star strutted his stuff for celebrity photographer Terry Richardson for the magazine's Fall-Winter 2010-2011 issue - and he's barely recognisable with his hair slicked back, and his face covered in blue eyeshadow and red lipstick.
According to The Huffington Post, Candy's editors describe the publication as "the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations".
The actor recently graced the cover of gay magazine The Advocate, in which he denied being homosexual despite constant speculation surrounding his sexuality.
He said: "Sure, I'd tell you if I was (gay). I guess the reason I wouldn't is because I'd be worried that it would hurt my career. I suppose that's the reason one wouldn't do that, right? But no, that wouldn't be something that would deter me. I'm going to do projects that I want to do."
After taking roles in “Howl,” “Milk” and “Pineapple Express,” moviegoers have a few preconceived ideas about James Franco – and now the actor is setting the record straight.
“Everyone thinks I’m a stoner, and some people think I’m gay because I’ve played these gay roles,” James told The Advocate’s October issue. “That’s what people think, but it’s not true. I don’t smoke pot. I’m not gay.”
The actor understands why some of his colleagues might choose to keep their sexuality in the closet, but said he wouldn’t hide it if he were gay.
“I’d tell you if I was,” he told the mag. “I guess the reason I wouldn’t is because I’d be worried that it would hurt my career. I suppose that’s the reason one wouldn’t do that, right? But no, that wouldn’t be something that would deter me. I’m going to do projects that I want to do.”
In fact, James is tired of the typical big screen straight love story.
“In this history of cinema, there are so many heterosexual love stories,” he said. “It’s so hammered, so done. It’s just not that interesting to me. It’s more interesting to me to play roles and relationships that haven’t been portrayed as often.”
The only time when the actor’s team attempted to dissuade him from a taking a role was his recent foray into daytime TV as the character Franco on an ABC soap
“You want to know what my agents did try to talk me out of?” James said. “‘General Hospital.’ They didn’t think me acting in a soap opera was the greatest idea. But they know that I’ve always wanted to do a movie about the Beats, so no one tried to stop me from playing Allen Ginsberg.”
James is currently on the big screen in “Eat Pray Love,” and will play Ginsberg in “Howl” – opening in limited release on September 24. He’s also portraying Aron Ralston, a mountain climber who was forced his amputate his arm after getting trapped by a boulder, in the Danny Boyle-directed “127 Hours” – hitting theaters on November 5.

His latest short film, The Clerk’s Tale, based on Spencer Reece’s poem, premiered at Cannes. It’s a psychological portrait of a gay man trapped in a monotonous job at a high-end male store. He also stars as poet Allen Ginsberg in Howl which is opening night film at next month’s Outfest.

Appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman this week, Forte talked about that “very wet” kiss as he promoted his big starring role in the feature film MacGruber, based on a series of Saturday Night Live sketches.
Following James Franco’s good-natured spoof of his earlier Gucci Pour Homme fragrance ad campaign on Funny Or Die, the actor is officially back in front of the camera for the Italian luxury brand’s latest scent, Gucci by Gucci Sport pour Homme.

At a press conference for the Allen Ginsberg biopic Howl at Sundance, E!'s Ted Casablanca and Taryn Rider asked actors Jon Hamm and James Franco about the trial in that film in relation to the courtroom proceedings playing out in California against Proposition 8.
Said Hamm: "There's a line in the movie [that says] 'I think that publicity engendered by this trial is going to bring this poem to a much wider audience than it ever would have had.' I think that argument can certainly be made for the Prop 8 situation, where publicity engendered by all this brings to light the absurdity of ascribing second-class status to an entire group of people. The more people that see that...I just think in a lot of ways the publicity and press surrounding these issues will only serve to help." Said Franco: "Like I said before when Milk was coming out, I hope we'll get to a time soon where we'll look back and say, 'I can't believe that we were discriminating against this whole group of people and saying, 'You don't have the same rights as everybody else.'' I hope that the time comes very, very soon, when we can all look back and say that was ridiculous."
Spider-man star James Franco is convinced the superhero franchise will survive without leading man Tobey Maguire - he's urging Hollywood bosses to take inspiration from the Batman movies.
Maguire, who has played the webslinger in three big budget blockbusters, threw the fourth installment into jeopardy last week when he announced his decision to quit the franchise, along with director Sam Raimi.
Movie executives now plan to revive Spider-Man with a prequel, featuring a new cast.
Franco, who appeared in all three superhero movies, is convinced the Spider-Man series will continue to thrive - and cites the Batman franchise, which has seen five actors play the Caped Crusader over the years, as an example.
He tells E! Online, "I don't have a problem with that (rebooting the franchise without Maguire). It worked out well for Batman and comics themselves have different artists and writers. I think it's perfectly fine."
But the actor hopes movie bosses don't press on with plans to release the next film in 2012 - because audiences will need a break to accept the new-look movie.
He adds, "I think for the viewers you want a little space so you can get everyone else out of your head."

On his outlook on gay relationships: “As soon as I got out of high school, I was like, I don’t care if anybody’s gay. It doesn’t matter. Doing Milk, I don’t know if it broadened my mind at all.
