Madonna has finally received some good news on her attempted adoption of Malawian girl Mercy. Three appellate judges in the African nation have decided to rule in her favor, reversing the March denial of her attempt at adoption. The official announcement that the pop star can move forward and adopt Mercy is planned for Sunday.Madonna was apparently shocked back in March when the Malawi court denied her request to adopt Chifundo Mercy James. The Court cited a residency requirement that insisted prospective parents achieve Malawi residency for 18-24 months.
Madonna first met the three-and-a-half year-old girl in 2006 when she visited an orphanage.
