On Wednesday night, American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi announced their Top 36 for season 8.All of our favorites (Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Jasmine Murray) are part of the Top 36, but there were other surprises. Yes America, the judges have voted and (unfortunately) Tatiana Nicole del Toro, Nathaniel Marshall and Nicholas Mitchell made it through.
Our guess is that FOX needs to improve the ratings and what better way to do it than to include some crying (from del Toro), drama (from "queen" Marshall), and comedy (from Mitchell or his alter ego "Norman Gentle"). There was also a surprise last-minute substitution which was not televised. Judge's pick Joanna Pacitti has been deemed ineligible, therefore Felicia Barton was selected to take her spot.
