Amy Winehouse Avoids Jail Time over Scuffle

Amy Winehouse is singing a song of freedom.

The singer, 26, was spared jail time after she pleaded guilty to common assault and disorder on Wednesday at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court in Buckinghamshire, England.

She admitted she had drunk too much when she pulled theater manager Richard Pound's hair and called him an expletive after he had told her she couldn't have another alcoholic drink while attending a show before Christmas. The court was told that Winehouse had drunk five vodka and Cokes before the incident.

Dressed for court in a short grey skirt, white blouse and pink ballet pumps, Winehouse was given a two-year conditional discharge as well as ordered to pay court costs and compensation to the victim totaling $300.

Judge Peter Crabtree told Winehouse, who was charged under her married name Amy Civil, that she will be "hit hard" if she commits any further offenses within the next two years.

Amy Winehouse's New Album 'Due in 2010'

Singer Amy Winehouse's new album is expected to be completed next year, according to her record label Island.

"I've heard a couple of song demos that absolutely floored me," Island co-president Darcus Beese said. "Hopefully we'll have her album next year."

He said the singer had been writing and recording "in fits and starts".

Winehouse's last album Back To Black, which has sold 10 million copies and won five Grammy Awards, came out three years ago.

But since its release, the singer has battled drug problems and ill health, and comeback gigs in May had to be scrapped.

She was writing and recording with producer Salaam Remi, who worked on Back To Black, while living on the Caribbean island of St Lucia earlier this year.

Last October, Remi said the pair had "about four songs done". The following month, Lucian Grange, head of Island's parent company Universal Music Group, said her new material was sounding "sensational".

Winehouse is making a return to TV screens on Saturday, singing backing vocals for her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.

Bromfield is the first signing to Winehouse's new record label Lioness, which is an imprint of Island. The 13-year-old's debut album is released on Monday.

Amy Winehouse & Husband Granted Divorce

The 2-year marriage of Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil came to a formal end in a functional first floor courtroom in London Thursday.

As one of 25 couples seeking to dissolve their marriages, Fielder-Civil, 27, was granted the divorce from Winehouse, 25, in a hearing that lasted all of 75 seconds, as the singer admitted adultery, court papers show.

Neither she nor Fielder-Civil were at Court Three of the High Court Family Division in London's Holborn area to hear District Judge Michael Segal grant the "quickie" divorce.

In a question-and-answer format, the court papers show that it was Fielder-Civil who filed for the split. Asked if he finds it "intolerable" to live with Winehouse, he replies, "Yes." And when asked to "state briefly your reasons for saying that the respondent has committed the adultery alleged," he answers, "The Respondent confessed the adultery to me in April 2008."

The papers show they have not lived in the same household since that date.

In her response, Winehouse is asked if she admitted "the adultery alleged in the petition." She answers a simple "yes." She adds that she is not intending to defend the case.

The couple married in Miami May 2007. First talk of a divorce surfaced in January, when Fielder-Civil, a music-video producer, signaled he would start proceedings. The singer initially said she would not let it happen.

Unless a dispute arises, the divorce will become final in six weeks.

Winehouse's New Sound a Big "No, No, No"

Amy Winehouse recorded a lot of music during her Caribbean holiday, but you may not hear any of it.

According to The Sun, the 'Rehab' singer changed her style from soul to reggae, and music executives aren't happy.

"Amy was very productive during her stay in St Lucia. She wrote a hell of a lot of songs, but the majority of them just aren't hitting the mark," a source says.

"She seems to have ditched her trademark vintage soul sound and is now heavily influenced by reggae. Her bosses don't think it’s a wise move to change her style so sharply and have told her that," the source adds.

The troubled star's lyrics are also causing some heads to turn.

"The lyrics are very dark indeed," an insider tells the British tabloid. The focus of her music seems to be her split from her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

"In the past, she's written frequently about broken hearts and boyfriends, but this time round she's delving into harrowing terrain," the insider says.

Whatever Amy does next is crucial to her career.

"If she puts out a record that is in any way half-baked, that could severely damage her long-term prospects, so everyone’s focus at the minute is getting it right, even if that means telling Amy some things she probably won't want to hear.

Amy Winehouse in Trouble...Again!

Amy Winehouse is back in the U.K. after her extended stay in the Caribbean and is also back in trouble.

The 25 year-old singer has been charged with assault for a September incident at the upscale End Of Summer Ball in London's Berkeley Square. She will have to appear in court later this month for the alleged melee.

A London Metro Police rep said, "The singer has been charged. She will appear on bail at City of Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 17th charged with common assault."

The police did not identify the individual Winehouse is said to have whupped, only that it stems from "an incident in Berkeley Square on September 26th."

Amy Winehouse Accused of Breaking Up Lesbian Couple

Amy Winehouse has been blamed for splitting up a lesbian couple as she continues to cause havoc on her Caribbean break.

A woman on her first romantic trip with her new partner exploded in rage when she found her in bed with Amy in a hotel room on St Lucia. Unashamed Amy just shrugged and asked the other woman to join them.

The shocked woman and her partner, who had been together for four months, left the room and had a furious row which led to them splitting up.

The 30-year-old woman, who burst in on Amy, then booked herself on to an early flight off the island.

Now back at home, she has updated her MySpace profile to say: “Amy Winehouse asked me for a threesome and I said no, no, no”.

The jilted lesbian told friends how she and her partner had been partying with Amy, 25, for a couple of days. Then one night her lover and Amy disappeared together. The woman told how she grew suspicious before bursting into their hotel room to find her 26-year-old partner and Amy, canoodling in bikinis.

The stunned girlfriend said that, instead of apologizing, Amy invited her to join in. But when she refused, the singer started hurling abuse at her. The woman said: “It all got messy. Amy shouted at me for not joining in. It was a strange night.”

A friend added: “She was devastated and cried for hours. It was a horrible thing to have to see – her girlfriend and Amy all over each other like that.”

Since she jetted to St Lucia in November Amy, 25, has caused havoc during wild nights around the poolside bar and been accused of stealing other guests’ drinks.

Amy Winehouse a 'Mess,' Taken to Hospital

Amy Winehouse was admitted to a hospital on Friday after collapsing while struggling with addiction on her never-ending vacation in St. Lucia, the singer's rep tells The Sun.

Sources described the 'Rehab' soulstress as in a "terrible state, a shaking mess" when she was taken to a facility on the Caribbean isle where she's been staying since December.

A spokesman for Winehouse has not revealed what caused her to collapse, but noted that the singer had recently run out of medication she'd been using to battle her crack and heroin demons.

She is recovering well from this latest setback, though, and is expected to be discharged from the hospital shortly. No word on if she plans to prolong her stay in St. Lucia, where she has been spotted in various stages of sobriety.

On Jan. 13, Winehouse was photographed on hands-and-knees at her resort, allegedly stealing drinks from other vacationers after she was cut off. Later, she was spotted topless playing Scrabble.

Amy Winehouse Was at Death's Door, Says Dad

Amy Winehouse came "close to death" twice during her worst moments, says her father.

Detailing his daughter's lowest points for the upcoming TV documentary Saving Amy, Mitch Winehouse says that while the media have been reveling in her downfall, "They didn't see her lying in bed for days in a dark room," he is quoted in Hello! magazine.

"She was close to death twice. We have been working a lot to get her to where she is right now," said the elder Winehouse, who now claims his daughter is drug-free.

Amy's mother, Janis, also appears in Saving Amy – and is highly critical of Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, who announced last week he is divorcing the singer after seeing photos of her with hunky rugby player Josh Bowman.

Monday brought tabloid reports that Amy Winehouse, 25, has moved from Bowman on to another man at the St. Lucia resort where she is vacationing.

Mitch Winehouse is quoted in Hello! as saying about Fielder-Civil's intention to divorce: "I had to call Amy before she heard about it from someone else. She asked me, 'Daddy, why does he wants to divorce me?' I said, 'You know I don't like him, but I have to admit that your behavior with another man is not what marriage is all about.' "

Amy Winehouse Chops Her Beehive

As we sit and pray that Amy Winehouse is on her way to rehabilitation, it appears she's been busy chopping off her itchy looking beehive. The troubled singer surprised photographers this morning when she came to her door at her North London home with a new curly crop.

In a see through vest and fleshed colored bra, the Black in Black singer had reportedly ventured outside to ask to use a photographers mobile phone. She took the cell phone inside, so the nature of the call is unknown, it was confirmed that Miss Winehouse returned with cheese on toast for the paparazzi as a way to say thank you.

Amy also spent some time explaining to the guys that she hadn't been out for a while due to a rash, which she needed medical attention for.

Winehouse Sinks Deeper Into Black Hole

Poor Amy Winehouse. Her lifestyle has gotten so bad that even she recognizes there is a problem.
"Life can't go on. I can't do this any more," Winehouse cried, after ruining her 12-year-old goddaughter Dionne Bromfield's performance at the End of Summer ball at Berkeley Square on Sept. 25 in London, according to The Daily Mail.

Winehouse sang backup vocals during Bromfield's singing debut at the ball and onlookers watched as Winehouse's erratic behavior during the set of songs grew worse.

"It was tragic -- she seemed totally wasted. She was jumping all over Dionne as the poor girl tried to sing for the crowd. Amy didn't really sing a single note -- it sounded more like she was grunting down themic."

The troubled star showed up to the ball wearing leopard-print shorts, a black vest and a pink satin jacket to what was a black-tie event, The Sun reports.

Winehouse's look was complete with unkempt hair and blood all over her legs. A few photographs even show a white-substance in the 'Rehab' singer's nose.
