American Idol: Top 12 (actually wait...Top 13)

Well the real competition is about to start on Tuesday, when the Top 13 (yes 13!)compete for the title of American Idol 8.

During the Wild Card show, the judges decided to keep Anoop Desai in the competition, which resulted in a Baker's Dozen (13) competing for this year's Idol.

Here's a mini-recap on this week's competitions.

On Tuesday, the final set of 12 from the Top 26 selected in Hollywood competed. On Wednesday Jorge Nuñez, Lil Rounds and Scott MacIntyre were selected by America to compete in the Final 13 competition. Unfortunately some of our earlier favorites Von Smith, Arianna Afsar and Kristen McNamara did not receive enough votes in order to continue in the competition.

On Thursday, the Wild Card show took place and the judges brought back many favorites including: Von Smith, Anoop Desai, Megan Corkrey, Jasmine Murray, Matt Giraud, and of course...Tatiana Nicole del Toro. The judges then selected Jasmine, Megan and Matt to complete the Final 12, but they had a surprise for everyone. They decided to make it a "Baker's Dozen" and also included Anoop to make it the Top 13.

This Tuesday, the competition starts with a 2-hour performance show at 8:00 pm (ET) on FOX followed by the 1-hour results show on Wednesday at 9:00 pm (ET).

So America please vote for your favorites and let's enjoy this year's show based on "who is the best singer/performer", instead of voting for who's the best looking, funniest or any other reason reason not associated with their singing abilities.

My predictions...
It will be a male dominated final three with Jorge Nuñez, Adam Lambert...and my favorite, Danny Gokey competing for the title of American Idol 2009.
