Today is the first anniversary of the death of Heath Ledger. There is no better way to honor this movie legend then how the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has done today by nominating him for an Oscar for his portrayal of the Joker in "The Dark Knight".
Heath Ledger passed away on January 22, 2008, at the age of 28, from an accidental toxic combination of prescription drugs in his New York apartment.
He starred in several movie
hits including Monster's Ball, 10 Things I Hate About You, Casanova, A Knight's Tale, Candy, and I'm Not There. But his most memorable role was as Ennis del Mar on the critically acclaimed movie, "Brokeback Mountain".Congratulations to Heath on his best supporting actor nomination! May he be celebrating this special day surrounded by angels.
