10 Things to Know About Eddie Cibrian

It's time to get to know Eddie Cibrian, who recently played the role of Coach Diaz (Hilda's newest love interest) on Ugly Betty.

Here are 10 things to know about Eddie:

1. Eddie is of Cuban descent.

2. Eddie is an only child.

3. Eddie has two sons aged named Jake Austin (1) and Mason Edward (5).

4. Eddie’s first acting gig was on a Coca Cola commercial which he got at age 12. It was his very first audition.

5. A star athlete in high school, Eddie placed his acting career on hold in favor of joining his high school football team.

6. An injury sustained during his first year in the UCLA football team left Eddie sidelined hence the decision to return to acting.

7. When his acting career did not take off as expected, Eddie tried joining a boy band called 3 Deep. His fellow band members include actor-singer Joshua Morrow and Canadian musician CJ Huyer. Their debut album went platinum in Canada.

8. When Eddie turned 20, he decided to give acting another shot. He originally auditioned for the role of Nick Newman in The Young and the Restless but the producers thought that he was too old for the part. They were impressed by his acting hence they created a new character for him to portray.

9. Eddie is an avid skier and motorcyclist.

10. If Eddie was not an actor, he would have been a businessman.
