Sunday is my other favorite night on TV and ABC is the place where I will be to watch my favorite series "Desperate Housewives" and my newest craze "Brothers & Sisters". Of course, I do watch CBS for "Amazing Race".

8:00 PM
Amazing Race - CBS
The Simpsons - FOX

8:30 PM
King of the Hill - FOX

9:00 PM

Desperate Housewives - ABC
Dexter - Showtime
Family Guy - FOX

9:30 PM

10:00 PM
Brothers & Sisters - ABC
Californication - Showtime
The Unit - CBS

My "TOP TV PICK for today is: Desperate Housewives

Desperate Housewives starts it's fifth season with a five year leap into the future.

When the 4th season's last show came to a close in May, we saw Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) in frumpier attire as a mom with two bratty children running around her house; Brie (Marcia Cross) hired her son Andrew (Shawn Pyfrom) as her assistant for her home-based catering business; Edie (Nicolette Sheridan) moved away from Wisteria Lane as she was disowned by her "friendly" neighbors; Lynette (Felicity Huffman) with dealing with her uncontrollable children who had grown up to become hoodlum teens; and Susan (Teri Hatcher)revealed her newest lover boy, played by Gale Howard. But who knows what happened to Mike (James Denton)?

Here are a few SPOILERS of what lies ahead with this "dramedy". If you do not want to spoil your appetite for some exciting story lines, I suggest you stop reading this posting right now.

  • A main housewife is horrified to learn that one of her kids has developed romantic feelings for her.
  • Mike, Susan and Jackson (aka Susan's new boyfriend) engage in a kinky threesome.
  • A fatal accident in the season premiere causes huge repercussions for several characters.
  • Gail O'Grady (NYPD Blue) is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives as the cul-de-sac's newest troublemaker.
  • Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) is now a masseur and sees clients in his home.
  • Danielle (Joy Lauren) and Leo Katz, the new man in her life, have custody of Benjamin. They bring the kid to see Bree. Danielle is afraid that Bree and Orson may try to steal Ben back.
  • Lily Tomlin joins the cast in the recurring role of Mrs. McCluskey's sister.
  • Wisteria Lane's resident gays, Bob and Lee, will be back for year five and we'll soon learn a lot more about the good-looking couple. Seems Bob has got some serious issues -- like, seek professional help sort of issues -- and it will all come out this season.

There's plenty of secrets and mysteries waiting to happen on Wisteria Lane, and I promise to be glued to my TV to stay on top of my favorite dramedy of all times.

Fall TV Premiere Week - Thursday

Well, my favorite night on television has finally arrived. ABC is promoting this week as "Stay at Home Week" and I will be doing exactly as I am instructed since two of my favorite shows (Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy) will be returning for another season.

Below is a list of the new and returning series premiering this Thursday night:

8:00 PM
My Name is Earl - NBC
Ugly Betty - ABC

9:00 PM
Grey's Anatomy - ABC
The Office - NBC

10:00 PM
ER - NBC

(Schedule is based on Eastern Time)

My "TOP TV PICK" for this Thursday Night is:

UGLY BETTY
on ABC at 8:00 pm (ET)

In the superficial world of high fashion, image is everything. Styles come and go, and the only constants are the super thin beauties who wear them. How can an ordinary girl from Queens possibly fit in?

If you took a moment to get to know Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), you'd see how sweet, intelligent and hard-working she is (if a bit fashion-challenged). When publishing mogul Bradford Meade (Alan Dale) handed the reigns of Mode, the bible of the fashion industry, over to this son, Daniel (Eric Mabius), he specifically hired Betty as his son's new assistant -- mostly because she was the only woman Daniel wouldn't sleep with. Both outsiders in their own way, Daniel and Betty form an unlikely team, each helping the other navigate the choppy waters of NYC's fashion scene.

Everyone predicted Betty would fail. Instead, she thrived in the ultra-competitive environment. But she always faced new challenges. Diva fashionista Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams), fed up with trying to earn the job of editor, devised a new strategy -- she became engaged to marry Bradford and hoped to wrest control of the magazine that way. Wilhelmina with her loyal assistant Marc St. James (Michael Urie) began planning the wedding of the millennium, but after she walked down the aisle, Bradford died at the altar.

Meanwhile, Betty's personal life became even more complicated as former flame Henry (Christopher Gorham_ abruptly returned to Mode in order to earn money (and get medical insurance) for his pregnant girlfriend, Charlie (Jayma Mays). Betty had a hard time dealing with the heartbreak of seeing the guy she really loves (but can't have) every day in the elevator? Betty, then met a a new man on the Mode scene, Gio (Freddy Rodriguez), the sandwich cart guy, who both irritates and fascinates Betty.

In other Mode and Meade developments, Daniel's sister (formerly brother) Alexis Meade (Rebecca Romign) dealt with the consequences of faking her death and getting a sex change. Claire Meade (Judith Light), Daniel & Alexis' mother, was MIA after breaking out of prison, where she was serving time for the murder of legendary Mode editrix, Fey Sommers. Claire's family had no idea where she was hiding, but she knew their every move -- and vowed to stop Wilhelmina from marrying Bradford. But Wilhelmina had bigger plans up her sleeves. She was able to freeze some of Bradford's sperm and eventually got pregnant through artificial insemination in order to gain control of Mode.

Fey may be gone, but she's not forgotten. Mode's receptionist, Amanda (Becki Newton) was reeling from the revelation the fashion icon was her mother. With her BFF Marc's help, she sets out to claim her rightful place in fashion society... and to find out her father's identity. Away from the office, Betty continued to help her family through the many changes they faced, including the sudden death of Hilda's love and Justin's dad, Santos (Kevin Alejandro). Betty sold herself to Willie's secrecy in order to gain her assistance with getting her father, Ignacio (Tony Plana) back into the United States after getting stranded in Mexico for having improper visas.

This season, Betty will make her decision between Henry and Gio, but she will soon be distracted with the introduction of a new love interest, Jesse (Val Emmich) who will be Betty's next door neighbor her new home. Willie and Bradford's baby will be born and she will pursue her goal to take control of Mode, which will cause a major fallout between Claire and Alexis. Lindsay Lohan will join the cast as Kimmie in recurring role. She is an ex-high school colleague of Betty with a great amount of dislike towards Betty. Kimmie is the manager of a fast-food restaurant, where Ignacio works. Plus, Hilda will gain a love interest when Eddie Cibrian joins the cast as Justin's physical education teacher.

There will be plenty of juicy story lines, great humor and colorful "costumes" this year on Ugly Betty.

Ugly Betty is based on "Yo Soy Betty La Fea", the groundbreaking Colombian telenovela that became an international phenomenon.

So "Arriba, Arriba" get your favorite snack and watch Ugly Betty this and every Thursday.

Opportunity Knocks on ABC

9:00 pm
The Mentalist on CBS

10:00 pm

Without a Trace on CBS

My "Top TV Pick" for today is: THE MENTALIST

It stars Golden Globe Award nominee Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation.

Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. Jane's role in cracking a series of tough high-profile cases is greatly valued by his fellow agents. However, no-nonsense Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon openly resists having Jane in her unit and alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Jane's usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries.

Lisbon's team includes agents Kimball Cho, Wayne Rigsby and rookie member Grace Van Pelt, who all think Jane's a loose cannon but admire his charm and knack for clearing cases.

Fall TV Season

The 2008/2009 Fall TV Season is Here!

As a self-classified "couch potato" my favorite TV time has arrived. I always look forward to the arrival of May when the major TV networks announce their new Fall Season TV shows and then I wait in great anticipation until September and October when the new (and returning favorites) premiere.

This fall, a total of 102 new shows will join the TV airwaves and 110 return to your "TV Tube". During the next few weeks, I will be sharing with you reviews on my favorite new and returning TV series.

Here's my "Top TV Pick" for today:

HOUSE

Tuesdays at 8:00 pm ET (7:00 pm CT) on FOX

This amazing drama, now on it's 5th Season, stars Hugh Laurie as House (Gregory House, MD), a maverick medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey.

Season 5 picks up a few months after House's best buddy's girlfriend, Amber (Anne Dudek) died trying to retrieve a drunken House, causing Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) to question his ties to the hospital and to House.

If you enjoy drama, with a twist, then House will satisfy your needs.
