Logo Adds Shows to Its Schedule Line-Up

MTV’s Logo channel geared toward an LGBT audience and their families and friends, has announced three series that will be joining its line-up this year: Be Good Johnny Weir, Pretty Hurts and Setup Squad.

The announcement came at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena.

The Johnny Weir series, which explore the life of one of America’s most outspoken and colorful sports figures, had originally premiered on the Sundance Channel. Logo has acquired the first season’s episodes and will produce new episodes for a second season.

“Johnny Weir’s talent is as big as his irreverent personality,” says Dave Mace, Logo’s senior vice president of programming.

Also new: The workplace docu-soap Pretty Hurts which follows the staff and clients of a high-end Beverly Hills medical office that specializes in “liquid face lifts” and Setup Squad which focuses on a Manhattan-based matchmaking service that pairs up professional “wing people” with those who are unlucky in love.

Logo has also acquired episodes of Nip/Tuck which began airing this month and episodes of Will & Grace which will not air until 2013.

Logo, the LGBT entertainment network from MTV Networks, has announced three new original series for 2011.

Be Good Johnny Weir explores the life of one of America’s most outspoken and colorful sports figures, three-time U.S. National Figure Skating Champion and World Medalist Johnny Weir.

Pretty Hurts is a comedic reality series that follows the staff and clients of a high-end Beverly Hills medical office that specializes in “liquid face lifts.”

The third series is Setup Squad, a workplace docu-soap focused on a Manhattan-based matchmaking service that pairs up professional “wing people” with those who are unlucky in love. Setup Squad will follow the hard-working angels who make the dating world a better place, whether you’re gay or straight.

Logo also acquired Nip/Tuck, which started airing on Logo this month and Will & Grace, which will begin running in 2013.

Mario Lopez Back on Nip/Tuck

Producers of Nip/Tuck have found something even more proocative than when they showed Mario Lopez naked in the shower revealing his hall of fame buns back on Season 4.

The former AC Slater of Saved By the Bell and current host of Extra! will reprise his role as plastic surgeon Dr, Mike Hamoui when the series premieres its sixth and final series on FX on October 14th.

In a recently published photo, Mario is wearing a sexy lingerie outfit. I’m not sure that the storyline is but I do know this: I like it!

Nip/Tuck Goes Under the Knife

Quirky plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck has been cancelled after 100 episodes.

The show, starring Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon, debuted in 2003 and became an instant critical and ratings hit in America.

But reports suggest the most recent episode - the 100th - was the last. It wrapped on 12 June.

Cast member John Hensley confirmed the sad news, telling PerezHilton.com, "I feel we've reached a creative impasse with regards to what we can do with this story.

"I just feel that we were a show that was very good and innovative at one point and we've gone the way of so many shows before us. Our moment has passed."

And fans face a long wait to see the final shows, which won't air until 2011.

19 more episodes of Nip/Tuck will air on FX. They will be split into two halves airing in both January 2010 and January 2011 marking the end of the series with an even 100 episodes.
