Matthew Broderick has given Hollywood bosses the green light to remake his classic movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but doesn't want any involvement in it.
Rumors have swirled for months suggesting studio chiefs are nursing plans to bring the cult 1980s comedy back to the big screen in either a sequel or a remake.
Broderick has now commented on the reports, insisting he would be "happy" with plans to bring back rebellious teen Ferris, as long as the project is handed to a completely new cast.
He tells Cinematical, "(A remake) would be fine. I would be perfectly happy for somebody to do that. I probably wouldn't enjoy (having a role in the film). I would rather leave what we did as our thing."
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are playing show and tell.
On Monday, the couple, who greeted twin daughters Marion and Tabitha June 23, released a picture of the beautiful new editions to their family. The girls, born via a surrogate, were joined by their older brother, James Wilkie, 6.
Call it bliss & the city!
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick said Tuesday they were "delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters" – twins born Monday afternoon in Ohio via a surrogate.
"The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon," the couple say in a statement confirming earlier reports.
Born at 3:58 p.m., Marion Loretta Elwell weighed 5 lbs., 11 oz, and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 lbs. "Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker's side," the statement explains.
The news first broke in April that the couple were adding to their family by having twin daughters with the help of a surrogate mother. Broderick, 47, and Parker, 44, have a son, James Wilkie, 6.
Two police chiefs allegedly devised a plan to break into the home of Sarah Jessica Parker’s surrogate mother in an attempt to gather info for a tabloid.
Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter and Bridgeport Police Dept. Chief Chad DoJack are reportedly under investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. TMZ reports burglars were hunting for voice mails left by Parker.
Carpenter told WTOV: “I’m 100% innocent in this and my department is as well.”
Sarah Jessica’s husband Matthew Broderick released a statement through his rep, Simon Halls: “Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system. But because it’s a criminal investigation — we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer.”
It'll be a girl – and a girl! – for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.
The Hollywood couple, who already have son James Wilkie, 6, announced Tuesday they're "happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed."
Broderick, 47, and Parker, 44, stepped out together Monday night in New York at the premiere of his film Wonderful World, where the actor gushed about his fashion-icon wife (wearing a skintight dress) of nearly 12 years, saying, "Doesn't she look beautiful."
