Sandra Bullock to Give First TV Interview

Sandra Bullock will give her first TV interview since splitting with Jesse James on Tuesday. She will sit down with Today's Matt Lauer in New Orleans.

Days after winning her Best Actress Oscar for The Blind Side, the actress, 46, was blindsided when news broke that her husband of five years had an affair.

In April -- months before finalizing her divorce from James, 40 - she announced that she had adopted a baby from New Orleans: 3 ½-month-old son, Louis.

Bullock is currently in talks to star alongside Tom Hanks in the 9/11 drama, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

Is Matt Lauer's Alleged Mistress Whitney Houston's Trans-Sister?

Last week the gossips alleged 52-year-old Today show host Matt Lauer was cheating on his wife with "Whitney Houston's singer-songwriter/producer step sister Alexis Houston." It's a juicy bit of gossip except that Whitney Houston's rep says that Alexis is in no way related to Whitney and both Lauer and Alexis have denied any sort of affair. There is one rumor that Alexis hasn't denied however—that she's transgender.

According to a Page Six source, Alexis was born Stuart Wellington and had "a sex-change surgery three years ago after a man fell in love with the cross-dressing singer and paid for the operation." Whitney Houston sued Alexis in 1996 for claiming to be her cousin, alleging Alexis used the false identity to defraud a New York doctor of $100,000.

(Neither Alexis nor her lawyer Gloria Allred commented on Alexis' alleged transgender identity or alleged fraudulent past during a press conference yesterday.)

It wouldn't be shocking is Alexis is trans. At least not have as shocking as all the press she's pulled piggybacking off of false rumors of bigger named celebrities.

Brüno Falls into Matt Lauer's Embrace

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Somehow, it just seemed pre-destined that Austrian fashionista Brüno would end up in Matt Lauer's arms.

The fateful contact took place Thursday during a free-wheeling Today show interview in which Sacha Baron Cohen's flamboyant alter ego, in his silver lamé jumpsuit, demanded a hug from the handsome morning host. Problem was, the segment (see video) had already faded to blackout before the moment could be shared with viewers.

The entire incident had been sparked by Lauer's informing Brüno that the Austrian Minister to Great Britain had called for a boycott of the film Brüno – which happens to open Friday. Apparently, the minister doesn't appreciate how the movie represents Austria.

"This is the first I'm hearing of this," said a teary-eyed Brüno, who declared it a private moment – and asked for a close-up.

Star Sighting: Matt Lauer & His Little Girl

Matt Lauer was photographed walking with his daughter Romy in Manhattan earlier this week. The Today Show co-host is still recovering from a bicycle accident that caused a shoulder separation, which required surgery.

Lauer is married to former Dutch model Annette Roque. She filed for divorce in 2006 but the couple later reconciled. They have three children, Jack, 7, Romy, 5, and Thijs (pronounced Tice), 2.

Matt Lauer Expected to Return to "Today" This Week

Matt Lauer remained "a little groggy" Tuesday morning, following surgery the day before to repair his separated shoulder, but was "shaking it off like a trouper," said a Today show executive.

Jim Bell told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show that he spoke with Lauer Tuesday, just days after the show host crashed his bike after slamming on his brakes to avoid a deer. Bell expected Lauer would return to the show before the end of the week – and even made several jokes about the incident.

"I'm hopeful if not [Wednesday] by Thursday or Friday at the latest – so our national nightmare will soon be over," he said.

Lauer, 51, could have opted to postpone surgery, to see if the injury would heal on its own, Bell said.

Golf Sparked Surgery

"[Matt] said this was the right call, his doctors told him that," Bell said. "As you probably know, golf is very important to Matt. He didn't want to face the prospect of swinging a golf club in pain for the rest of his days.

"So he had a little surgery and as anybody knows who's ever been under the knife, it's not a lot of fun."

Bell joked that the show's staff was concerned Lauer might not "be able to get a tie on," but said the objective for the crew now is "frankly, we're going to get that deer."

Matt Lauer has Accident with Deer

Where in the world was Matt Lauer on Monday? Not on the Today show, due to a weekend incident as he was riding his bicycle, according to his NBC cohort Meredith Vieira.

Lauer encountered a deer while he was on the road, said Vieria, who wasn't quite clear about whether or not Lauer and the animal smacked into one another. She seemed to doubt it.

Lauer, she informed viewers, "thinks the deer was hired by the competition." Not true, Vieira insisted. "I hired the deer, but I said, 'Just graze him.'"

Lauer Staying Home Due to Economy

Where in the world is Matt Lauer? Staying home this year.

In a nod to the economy, the "Today" show is putting off its annual mystery trip where Lauer is sent to exotic spots such as the Taj Mahal or the Pyramids. Instead, NBC's morning show team will be spending a week in May exploring affordable vacation spots in the United States.

"Today" Executive Producer Jim Bell said he had solicited suggestions from viewers for this year's "Where in the World Is Matt Lauer" trip. Instead, many told him that in bad economic times, the extravagant trip sent the wrong message.

What I am wondering is "where in the world WAS Matt Lauer when this picture was taken?" Too bad it was not here in sunny South Florida.
