Joanna Lumley is teaming up with her comedy partner Jennifer Saunders to revive their hit British comedy "Absolutely Fabulous".
The actress is in talks with creator Saunders, who overcame breast cancer earlier this year, to bring back their boozy, chain-smoking fashionistas for a TV comeback.
Lumley tells Playbill magazine, "Jen wrote to me and said, 'Let's talk through it. What do you think?' And I said, 'Bring it on.' Because we're all still here. Mother's still alive - the wonderful June Whitfield. Julia Sawalha, Jane Horrocks - the basic five Js - all our names began with J. We're all still alive and available - ish - to do it, and I think we just have to do it."
And Lumley insists staging a reunion should be easy because previous episodes have already explored the characters' futures.
She adds: "The great thing is that because in our show, we fast-forwarded to where they're very old and nearly dead and practically plugged into vodka machines and things. It doesn't matter how beyond (the original series) we do it because we know they've been that... So this makes it heaven!"
Veteran British actress Joanna Lumley is set to make her Broadway debut when she joins Frasier star David Hyde Pierce onstage for a revival of comedy drama La Bete later this year.
The Absolutely Fabulous star is set to appear opposite Pierce in the play, based on David Hirson's 1991 Broadway show, set in 17th century France.
Lumley and Pierce will appear in the theatrical comedy for a six-to-eight-week stint in London's West End in spring, before transferring to New York in the autumn.
Mark Rylance, who is currently starring opposite Pirates of the Caribbean actor Mackenzie Crook in West End show Jerusalem, will also be part of the cast.
Hindu scholars are urging Nepal's leaders to honor actress Joanna Lumley for tirelessly working for Gurkhas in Britain.
The Absolutely Fabulous star recently helped secure residency rights for the Nepalese Hindus living in the U.K. thanks to a major campaign, which she led.
And now religious leaders are calling for the actress, who was born in India, to be given Nepal's top accolade.
U.S. statesman Rajan Zed insists the actress should be given a Padma Award for her efforts.
He says, "It was remarkable how she handled U.K. Immigration Minister Phil Woolas during the Gurkha campaign. He acknowledged that the actress had given a focus to the campaign.
"Besides Gurkhas, Lumley has also taken up various other causes like exiled Tibetan people, animal welfare and literacy. This ruling makes around 84,000 Gurkha veterans, their wives and children eligible to settle in UK.
"We Hindus are very proud of Joanna Lumley - she was born in Kashmir in 1946 and her father was an officer with the 6th Gurkha Rifles. She should be celebrated. India should be proud of her."
Join me in wishing an "AbFab" Birthday to the lovely Joanna Lumley aka Patsy Stone from Absolutely Fabulous.
She is truly a remarkable lady that has kept us laughing for a long time.
We wish her the best on her special day!
