Amanda Seyfried & Dominic Cooper 'Taking a Break'

In a recent interview, Amanda Seyfried said she wasn't sure if her British beau Dominic Cooper is "the one." As it turns out, he isn't – at least for now.

People magazine has confirmed that Seyfried, 24, and Cooper, 31, are no longer dating. "Amanda and Dominic have been on and off for a while – and right now they're taking a break," a source says. "But they're great friends and could still get back together."

While Seyfried has been promoting her new movie Letters to Juliet, Cooper has been at the Cannes Film Festival, where he was spotted talking to Seyfried's former Mean Girls costar Lindsay Lohan – and even had his arm around her waist at a party Wednesday night.

Seyfriend and Cooper met while filming 2008's Mamma Mia!. The two had maintained a long-distance relationship, keeping in touch via Skype or hopping on planes in between their busy schedules. "There's nothing easy about [it]," Seyfriend tells InStyle Hair this month.

A rep for the actress could not be reached for comment.

Dominic Cooper's Mamma Mia! Sequel Concerns

British star Dominic Cooper is desperate to star in a Mamma Mia! sequel - but he fears movie bosses will leave him out if a new movie is made.

The actor has heard rumors a follow-up to the successful 2008 movie musical is in the works, but he has not yet been approached to reprise his role.

He says, "I'm quite worried because a lot of people are talking and hearing about this number two but I haven't heard anything yet. It is giving me the impression that perhaps I am not included in this one. I'm hearing whispers it may be a prequel so I'm thinking, if it is that is not good for me."

Cooper has very fond memories of making Mamma Mia! because he met girlfriend Amanda Seyfried on the set, playing her love interest.

The Abba-themed film, which stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, scored huge box office success with global takings of $573 million.

Amanda Seyfried Thought Dominic Cooper was Gay

Amanda Seyfried was convinced her boyfriend Dominic Cooper was gay when she first met him.

The pair fell for each other on the set of Mamma Mia! last year and has been stepping out together ever since.

But Seyfried admits the romance almost didn't happen.

She tells Britain's InStyle magazine, "It was so not instant. I thought he was gay. I didn't know many Englishmen and it was just the way he dressed - he's quite fashionable."

British actor Dominic Cooper had a novel way of gaining access to nightclubs when he was underage - he dressed as a woman.

The Mamma Mia! star was brought up in Greenwich, south London, but his baby-faced features meant his pals often excluded him from nights out when he was a teenager.

So Cooper, who is currently dating Amanda Seyfried, hit upon the idea of donning female clothing in an attempt to gain access to clubs.

He says, "I looked so young, so I put on make-up at the bus stop, where there was usually a drug-deal going on, and I would put on a skirt. It was either that or get the bus home alone. The girls thought it was very funny."
