Cheryl Burke Calls Rick Fox Elimination Dancing With The Stars' 'Most Shocking'

Cheryl Burke and Rick Fox can relate to Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani.

Only one week after Patridge and Dovolani's jaw-dropping elimination on Dancing with the Stars, Burke and Fox experienced what they considered a premature departure from the show.

"This is the most shocking elimination I've ever been through out of all ten seasons," Burke told reporters backstage immediately following Tuesday's show. "That just shows you that you really need to vote. At the end of the day, no one's really safe."

But Burke and Fox, who landed in a higher spot than both Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin on Monday night, have no regrets. "We did the best we could do," Burke said. "There's nothing I would take back. It was his best night. It was our best night. It's better to leave like this, though – just to go out on top."

As for Fox, he, too, is disappointed about leaving the show.

"I'm going to miss coming here and being with the other contestants and the dancers and hanging out with them," he said. "This made me a stronger person. It made my relationships stronger across the board."

Who’s Heading to Dancing with the Star‘s Finale?

Following a night of double duty on Dancing with the Stars, the four semi-finalists were reduced to just three on Tuesday night’s results show.

It’s going to be Erin Andrews, Evan Lysacek and Nicole Scherzinger facing off in the finale.

Chad Ochocinco was eliminated after finishing in the bottom two for the first time last week and getting mediocre scores on Monday. He was also the 100th celebrity to be eliminated in the history of Dancing with the Stars.

“I enjoyed it,” the NFL player says. “I got some great criticism that’s made me stronger.”

His pro dancing partner Cheryle Burke adds, “Chad is the most humble guy I’ve ever met. He made me laugh and smile all season long.”

Cheryl Burke to Perform on Broadway?

Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke may be headed to Broadway this winter, stated a reliable source. Burke, 25, was spotted at the Ambassador Theater Tuesday night catching the musical Chicago.

The source said that Burke is in talks to take on the role of Roxie Hart this winter in between Dancing’s current season and season 10.

“It’s always been a dream of Cheryl’s to perform on Broadway,” the source says. “She’s excited to show off her other talents besides being a good dancer. She’s been vocally trained and she has a great voice.”

Burke’s fellow DWTS pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson are definitely heading to the Great White Way this winter in Burn the Floor at the Longacre Theatre. Last summer DWTS host Samantha Harris performed the Roxie Hart role at the Ambassador.

A rep for Burke could not be reached for comment.

Debi & Maksim Leave Dancing with the Stars along with Tom DeLay & Cheryl Burke

A stress fracture in each of Tom DeLay’s feet forced the former politician to withdraw from this season’s Dancing with the Stars during Tuesday’s elimination. But the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes from Monday’s show still counted, sending home Entourage star Debi Mazar and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

“I didn’t want to go through another week like I had last week,” DeLay stated. “You have to practice.” Last week, doctors said he was suffering from pre-stress fractures in his feet. In a week, his injuries worsened.

On Saturday, he practiced for two hours followed by a 30-minute practice on Sunday. His partner, Cheryl Burke, was growing concerned. “It’s not worth the risk. He proved to everyone he could do it,” she says.

She was surprised when Tom Bergeron announced they were safe from elimination during the show. “People are really behind this man. They love him. He earned some Democrat votes, as well.”

Bergeron invited DeLay to return for the season finale and perform the Texas two-step, which was the dance he was expected to perform next week. DeLay promised to come back. “Cheryl has already promised to come to Texas,” he says.

As for her last dance, Debi Mazar called her departure bittersweet. “It’s sweet because I don’t have to kill my body another week, but bitter because I loved the experience,” she says. “I wish I had another chance to show that maybe I could leave my nerves at home and not bring them to the dance floor.”
