Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine, who's organizing the tribute show with Georg Kindel, has announced the concert had to be canceled because it was impossible to organize in time for September 26th.He said: "Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me that it would be a great honor to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother -- an artist who influenced the music world like virtually no other."
"However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule so that they could be on stage in Vienna on September 26th, therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to the summer 2010. Now we have more time to put this monumental show together and not just 8 weeks."
"Michael originally wanted to start his comeback in the UK. After visiting Britain earlier this week, I think it is only fitting that we stage 'The Tribute' there."
The new show will take place next summer, and although no venue or date has been finalized, rumors are rife it will take place at The 02, the venue where Michael was due to perform 50 concerts before his death in June, or Wembley Stadium, which has a near 90,000 capacity.
Tickets for the London show will go on sale no later than December 1, 2009. Anyone who has already purchased tickets for the proposed concert at Austria's Schoenbrunn Palace will receive a full refund.
Music stars who had been approached by Jermaine for the planned Vienna event include Chris Brown, Akon, Stevie Wonder and R. Kelly.
